Visited Ron's Catfish in Jonesboro, Arkansas earlier today. The food was hot and delicious. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Ron's has all type of food like frog legs, shrimp, catfish, steak, crawfish and sides include Cole slaw, French fries greens, peas, creamed potato's mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. The desserts were plentiful to please your sweet tooth. It is all you can eat so don't be afraid to get a seconds or thirds or fourths. I was taken there to celebrate my birthday. Their catfish was excellent and what sides I could fill on my plate were great also. Wish I could have tried more of them. The servers were attentive and so nice, could not ask for better. Everything was clean and very nice. I plan on going back many time. Dont waste your time if the crawfish is what your going for. They use frozen crawfish so the tail meat falls apart and it's hard to eat. The prices are way to expensive, its not worth it. I'm glad you can seat yourself and that its a buffet but at this point there is no point. Service is not great. Some customers are really friendly and that's about the only good thing about it. If you ever decide to eat crawfish, I recommend eds catfish. You can pull that tail out in one price. Don't waste you breath, time or money comin to Rons catfish. It ain't worth it. Be very careful when ordering takeout from Ron's. My wife picked up our $50+ order today and specifically asked the woman at checkout if the potato salad was in the bag as we requested it rather than French fries. She said it was in the bag. Well when she got home, there was no potato salad or French fries or the onion/pickles condiments. When she called to ask about the missing items, the only thing they could offer was for to drive back across town to pick the items up. They did say that if we ordered again, they would give us the items free. Not good customer service in my opinion. The fish was good but overpriced when they leave off a third of your order. I posted the above yesterday but now have to apologize to Ron's as this morning we found the missing potato salad between the car seat and vehicle door. Appears sack may have turned over and the container rolled out. Still didn't receive other condiments, but the mystery of the missing potato salad has been solved. read more

Usually have a great experience with them, but today, the chicken was reheated and dry, it was edible, but not as good as usual, also, the drink is normally included. Since I did not get a drink during the meal, I asked if I could get a to go cup of tea. She went to talk to the manager, and they chatted for 5 straight minutes, trying to figure out if they could do that or not. I just left. It is an expensive place to eat. I don't eat seafood, and I got one pc of chicken (most of it left) some slaw, some cold french fries and some mac and cheese and it was 22.50. And they can't accommodate me, to let me have a to go cup of unsweet tea. Yikes. I drive an hour to get there and an hour back. I prob need to rethink that from now on. I still recommend them, but...customer service everywhere is not as good as it could be. read more

The food is great. The service is great. The service is fast. However, the restrooms are absolutely filthy. As busy as this place is, you'd figure they'd clean the bathrooms or at least check them throughout the day. The men's room was disgusting. The sink has one broken handle. Ron's hit the target for a fast Thursday lunch. Place was busy which is good. The Buffett was well attended and the food was mostly hot and fresh. Had vegetables and some other things like pot roast. I was here for catfish and on that point they succeeded. Catfish steaks, Cajun catfish, broiled, and of course fillets. The small local fillets was the best to me. Had all the appropriate sides also. A catfish buffet, really? Yes, really! I recently brought a number of "foodies" here from very posh metro Chicago; to my surprise they gave Ron's a 100% approval rating! The best part of Ron's is definitely watching the other diners. There are some serious eaters in here, professional grade. Watch and learn kids. Nice place for large groups and families to talk loudly and significantly reduce the world's catfish population. All kidding aside, this was a good meal in a very casual setting. Service was friendly and surroundings were clean. This place also has a giant parking lot, you could land a blimp here if needed. Ron's has remodeled since we last ate here (it's been a while) so we had to drive past the original parking lot and entrance to the new bigger lot on the other side of the building to enter the new entrance. Once inside, the place looks familiar. You pay for your dinner before you find your table and make your way to the long and plentiful food bar. There is food for everyone. Of course, the main attraction is the catfish, fillets and steaks fried perfectly, some of the best in the area. Also available are boiled shrimp, crawfish, frog legs, and chicken. To keep things balanced they offer an array of vegetables and salads and various types of potato offerings. The dessert bar is loaded as well with cakes, pies and cobblers. This place reopened and the fried catfish is very good. The fried shrimp was not to my taste but I saw many people enjoying it. It is pretty clean for a buffet and restocked often. I have many good memories here of sharing a meal with family no longer alive, I'm glad y'all reopened. If you leave this place with any space in your stomach, it's your own fault. There's something for anyone on the bar. Veggies, salad, hush puppies, mashed potatoes, chicken, desserts... and of course, catfish. You can fill up your plate, eat it, and go back again. This place gets the catfish right. I mean, it has flavor. And it's cooked just right and crispy. The fried okra is better then I've had in many places. The only weakness is the dessert bar, and it's not bad.
