I stood at the counter for awhile as the counter person answered at least six phone-in order calls. Finally, he hangs up and just looks at me. I said, "I'd like to place an order." He says, "Phone Call?" I said again, "No, I'd like to place a To-Go order." Again, he says, "Phone Call" making the phone gesture with his hand. The second response did NOT sound like an inquiry, but more of a statement. I walked out. I will not be back. Regarding the food: very marginal. And WHO uses DEEP FRIED chicken in Kung Pao Chicken?!?!?! Really, this place is not worth the time to even dial the phone.

Pocahontas is a halfway point for us on many travels, this was our first time visiting China Star. I was directed to China Wok on the road headed out of Carruthersville to Kennett. Dont let the older appearance of the building dissuade or discourage you from getting food there. Theg have a drive-thru that you can order at as well. The service was top notch! There were three of us that got takeout there. Two of us got the Gen. Tso's Chicken and one of us got the Hunan Beef dinner combo meals. Portions were BIG! We had a 45min drive back home, but ALL of the food was still stove hot when we got home and FANTASTIC! The eggroll was perfect! The veggies were still al denté crunchy, but steamed excellently. The wrap was crunchy and flaky, not soggy or oily like you might get elsewhere. Meal came with Pork Fried Rice or plain rice and some broccoli florets. We all had the fried rice and it was light, full of flavor with tasty morsels of smoked pork, steamed peas and diced carrots that werent mushy! The dinner combo ran a few pennies over $10, and is worth every penny. Their A/C had gone out because of the severe heat we are experiencing here, but they were working in it regardless. They took our order and asked that we wait for it in our car so we could be comfortable. They brought our food to us at the car all with great courtesy and happiness!
