Came in after church and I think we overwhelmed the staff. They told us 10 minutes but it was more like 20 (still not bad). We experienced a bit of cross-contamination on the way home and realized that the fish that everyone loves was in the same warming pan with fried shrimp which 3 out of 4 are allergic to (2 experiencing reactions) I think they were unprepared for the "after church" crowd that came in We went straight home after getting our food and found it all cold. This isn't a restaurant. It's an eating area inside a convenience store/gas station. The ambiance is...Bombay truck stop. The burgers are good but they forgot one of our kids meals and we had to wait. The prices are very reasonable. Service was friendly. read more

Twice I've ordered the fried catfish from Southern Chef and twice I didn't receive the pickles, onion, hushpuppies, coleslaw or dessert. It was the one in Brookland. The fish was good but the sides again were cold. The first time it was after 8 so I thought they might have been getting ready to close so I let it go but the second time was only about 5:45. This is a hidden gem of a place-doesn't look like much on outside, but well worth a stop. Stopped in for gas and a quick drink, food looked so good, we ended up ordering a Philly and chicken strips. Incredibly friendly service, perfect tenders, and the steak in the Philly was high quality steak. Cooks, cashier and rest of staff were very friendly and helpful. Dining area was large and had a great drink selection. Restrooms were clean. read more

We stopped in for supper and ordered a 5 piece cheesy breadstick, a chicken, bacon ranch pizza, a chicken bacon ranch sandwich and hot wings. The breadsticks were pretty much a thin and crispy cheese pizza, even cut like pizza. Tasted ok, but NOT breadsticks by any stretch. The pizza was also thin crust and had no flavor. The hotwings had a weird texture and the sauce wasn't very good. The restrooms were very dirty and it was apparent nobody had checked on the cleanliness in a while as there was poop ON the toilet seat and smeared on the floor. Stopped by today to check out the lunch selection. First I observed the fried foods in the display case. Wide variety, all looked decent, but the French fries looked old and dried up. Ended up going with the Philly cheesesteak from the sandwich and pizza area. The beef "ribeye" tasted like and also had the consistency of a pot roast from out of a crock pot. Not much flavor. The bread and the meat did get a little too hard after they toast the sandwich. It was fair. Not the best, but not the worst either. Definitely not a steak escape philly. Overall sandwich score was a 6.1. Also tried the honey mustard chicken and bacon sandwich. Again hard bread and chicken from the toaster. Not a lot of flavor. Sandwich score 5.1. Super nice staff and nice convenience store. Seating area was kind of messy. I'll try the pizza and wings next time I decide to stop here. read more

It's not bad for what it is, which is a gas station. There's nothing really fresh served here. I had a sub sandwich, the Kentucky bourbon chicken with fries. The sauce had a good flavor to it, but it was pretty much the kind of chicken you'd get at Subway but the bread was not as good. Other members of my party had the philly steak sandwich, which they said was pretty good except for the bread, and a hamburger which they said they liked. Overall, it was fine. Not worth a special trip but if you find yourself here you could do worse. read more

When they first opened the food was great. The last four or five times I have been it has just been edible. Doesn't seem like anything is cooked to order anymore and if you do ask for something specific they don't listen and give you what they want anyways. The place is very nice and the employees are usually real friendly. I keep hoping they will turn it around and get back to how it was when they first opened. read more

Food is very good. Used to eat here every morning just sometimes the service isn't up to par. I haven't been going here anymore because the last few times I have stopped by I have stood at the front of the line and no one has came to help me. They haven't been overly busy and still no one seemed in a big hurry to get me what I needed. Like I said the food is very good really it just seems like when the owner isn't around the service level goes down because every time he is in there its always the best. Overall good clean place to eat may have just been a few instances for me that service was bad but I will be going back. read more
