Found this spot on Yelp and decided to give it a go. Heads up: on Saturdays (closed on Sundays) they serve brunch, which worked out perfectly for us. Hubby ordered the "loaded breakfast" -- basically a glorious pile of hashbrowns smothered in sausage gravy and topped with cheese. He prefers his sausage gravy meaty, and this one did not disappoint. I went for the quiche of the day, which was perfectly fine, but let's talk about the real star of the show... the housemade rolls. Warm, fluffy, and served with soft, spreadable butter. I could have skipped the rest of the meal and just had a basket of those. Total carb heaven. Sadly I did not have room for pie and am kicking myself for not just getting pie FOR brunch! Friendly service, satisfying portions, and bonus points for those rolls. Definitely worth a brunch stop. read more

it was my first time here. but it was more than i expected. normally i love pancakes. i'm a pancake person but i wasn't in the mood for pancakes. so i got eggs with ham and sausage gravy and home fries the only thing i would say is the potatoes needed more salt other than that it was good. the sausage gravy had a nice bite to it which was refreshing because almost all sausage gravy tastes the same. the biscuit and potatoes were house made which once again was refreshing because some restaurants can't even make a decent pancake, but that i talked about in another review i'm not gonna vent about that right now. all in all i'd go back read more

We went on a breakfast date and I wanted a very different breakfast than what I was used to. Ordered the eggs florentine with garlic grits on the side and it was great! Didn't like the coffee and wasn't a fan of the cranberry orange bread pudding (too dense for me) but so enjoyed the eggs and grits that I didn't notice. Firstly, I specifically ordered the breakfast vegetable bowl because the menu says it does not contain potatoes. When our waitress brought our food, I thought perhaps we had someone else's food because over half the bowl was potatoes. Christie, our server, proceeded to argue in a demeaning tone and told me to go read the menu because it said it had potatoes. IT DOES NOT. Christie was the absolute worst and most rude person I've ever encountered in a restaurant. The food was good, but the coffee was burned and the restroom looked disgusting. Saw this place on yelp while visiting Jonesboro and tried it for lunch...and pie. I had a chef's salad that was very nice. Nice mix of lettuce and spinach, salty baked ham and bacon with perfectly cooked eggs. My friends had the triple threat salad (spinach salad, chicken salad and fruit salad) and the chicken salad sandwich with broccoli. The chicken salad was creamy with lots of chicken and spinach salad had lots of bacon and mushrooms. My key lime pie was tart as it should've been, with whipped cream topping. We tried Sue's Kitchen on a recent trip to Jonesboro!! What a TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE. You place your order at the counter, fix your drink and find a seat!! The food arrives very quickly!! I had fried chicken with green beans, creamed corn and mashed potatoes with gravy. My wife had quiche with fruit. We both thought that the food was WONDERFUL!! We had a piece of Italian cream cheese cake for dessert!! EXCELLENT!! Great for terrific home style cooking and great desserts!! The food is 5!! read more

We had our work Christmas party here on Friday. This is the first time I had ever been to Sue's. And it did not disappoint. Some of us had breakfast and some of us had lunch. I had the chicken spaghetti, mashed potatoes and a side salad. It was a big enough portion of each. The homemade rolls where also amazing. I purchased something from the freezer they had for Christmas morning. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean! Can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu. read more

Charming restaurant! Staff very friendly. The aroma is intoxicating, and the complimentary rolls with butter melt in your mouth. I ordered a cup of creamy chicken, macaroni soup. It was so good! It tasted dead on like chicken n dumplings. I had to keep looking, to convince myself their were no dumpLings. We shared a club sandwich. It was full of meat, cheese, tomato n bacon. This place is awesome. Easily the best dining experience I've had in Jonesboro, and perhaps the best bread I've had anywhere -- biscuit-muffin things with butter, preceding the meal. Oh yum. I will think about those things in many future days. For lunch, I ordered a "sandwich" that was supposedly turkey, tomatoes, bacon, and cheese sauce, served open faced. It turned out to be a full casserole dish with those things layered on tasty bread, and it was delicious. There wasn't a single healthy piece of it, but it was oh so good. (In case you're wondering, the tomatoes had so much cheese on them -- sort of the thick cheese sauce of good mac n cheese -- that I couldn't ever call them healthy either.) I subbed out the fries for a "veggie": mashed potatoes with really good hearty, beefy gravy. Friendly, fast service, and neat location in an old courthouse. And my bill -- with ample leftovers and a large slice of pretty-decent pecan pie -- was very reasonable, at under $13. Word on the street is you have to beat the lunch rush (i.e., come right at noon or so), or you'll find they've run out of the most popular items. Duly noted. read more

The food is ok but not consistent. Sometimes the food is good and others it is cold and I have to send it back. The service is often super slow and wait staff often unfriendly. For example, this visit I waited to be seated and no one came so we sat ourselves and waited for over 5 minutes for someone to come bring us menus. Overall it is poor service but Jonesboro has terrible options for brunch so you're kinda stuck a stuck with it. read more

Went and tried to order food before sitting down. Older lady on phone was EXTREMELY RUDE to my husband and I also guest coming in the door . She said we don't have any clean tables . I'm new to JB, and heard that this place was good. It took me a while to be smart enough to look up their actual hours of operation and was first in the door on a Saturday morning. Service was fast, friendly, and professional. I am a fan of corn beef hash for breakfast and when I heard i twas made to order instead of canned, I jumped on it. Poached eggs on made-to-order corn beef hash with sausage gravy on biscuits. I think it's called John'd favorite. It's really good, 5 star good. Coffee was good and quickly refilled. There is a reason why this has become a Saturday brunch spot for me ... in terms of breakfast spots in Jonesboro, it's as good as it gets. This is the first place that I would take out-of-town guests in the morning because it has everything - great food, great service, and great ambience. The only complaint is that it isn't open for dinner! I might be a bit biased because the staff all recognize me now but the service has been a huge selling point for me. There have been a couple instances when the restaurant was packed for lunch (not a bad sign if you're thinking about trying something new particularly in Jonesboro) and the food wasn't coming out as quickly. Both times the servers were very pleasant and handled the delay well by letting me know the status of the order. It also helped that the food quickly made me forget about my wait! Don't think I've had a bad item that was memorable but I'm a fan of the huevos rancheros for breakfast. It's also a Southern restaurant so be sure to try the lunch specials and biscuits! read more

On a recent rainy day a friend and I dropped in for lunch. I remember the original Sue's downtown and was looking forward to a pleasant meal. I should have kept looking. To fend off the damp chill I ordered a cup of french onion gratin soup. Instead of a crown of melted cheese the soggy piece of bread floating on top was virtually bare. There was little cheese and much of it had melted onto the side of the cup. The soup itself was also very salty. I also ordered the Reuben. The sandwich was sloppily made and featured very dry pieces of corned beef. It was served alongside cold crinkle-cut french fries. Not pleasant. The one redeeming quality of the meal was the Italian cream cake. It was tasty. Service was slow and the price was exorbitant for the quality of the meal. They could do much better and should. They have a reputation to uphold. I should have just let the old Sue's live on in my memory and avoided the new incarnation. read more

I wanted a really good breakfast and after reading reviews of Sue's Kitchen, I decided to give it a try. I called to place a takeout order and the person who answered the phone had to summon help from another employee and neither had any knowledge of the menu. I already knew what I wanted to order but I couldn't even get a question answered. I ordered Tjon's Favorite (corned beef hash with eggs and biscuits w/gravy) as well as two orders of French toast. This seemed to confuse the order taker for some unknown reason. Two orders of French toast. Simple. I went inside to pick up the order and the place is nice inside so I was really excited to try the food. After paying, I was handed my bagged food and immediately noticed how light it felt. I mean...for $15 I want something heavy. I got home to have breakfast with my son and to my surprise, my French toast was mere toast. Just toast. I started to drive back to the restaurant and get my correct order but I decided to check the receipt first. Not only did they put regular toast on my order, they charged me $2.49 for each slice! It's not like this was some fancy toast. This was lightly toasted Wonder bread. I wasn't happy. My son did enjoy the corned beef entrée, but it wasn't $15 good. I won't visit this establishment again. I'm bummed about it, too, because I was hoping I had found a great breakfast spot. read more

Went there earlier this week, ordered the chicken salad. When it arrives it was yellow, and smelled weird. It tasted like chemicals and the waitress said " I think the chicken went bad". This place is fantastic! My family and I were in town and looking for a real southern breakfast. I am amazed at the number of fast food places in town, which is not what we were looking for. Sues is only open for breakfast on Saturdays and she did not disappoint! My niece and I had the special which was eggs, bacon, grits and a side of biscuits and gravy. My husband had The banana pecan French toast and my son had the peach Belgian waffle. Everything was made to order for our table. We ordered the cinnamon roll to try as my son loves them and it was clearly homemade and delicious. The service was attentive and the space is very light and airy, situated inThe old courthouse downtown. Everything was great and very affordable. This place has the best lunch in town. They serve lunch Monday through Saturday. They also have breakfast on Saturday morning. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I can't think of anything that I don't like. I think my favorite if the chicken quesadillas. They come with a lime sauce that is so good. Ohmygoodness!
