I had eaten at the Cheddars in Fort Wayne, IN a few times and always liked it, so I was excited to find one closer to my home. It took awhile, but I finally got there and I was not disappointed. Very good food. Great service and short wait for Saturday night. It wasn't too expensive either. French fries tasted good and everyone at my table seemed to enjoy their food greatly. The bathrooms are also very nice. Nice privacy and very clean. The restaurant not only taste good but the interior of the building is very nice. I would definitely come here again. read more

Took the family last night, the hosts were dismissive, the server was clueless. We waited fifty minutes for our food to arrive and when we told this to the manager he told us it was due to the cut of the meat we ordered. My wife and I both had fish and my son had the ribs, which I'm pretty sure are pre-cook d. Just lame service with lame excuses, we will think twice before revisiting. This place has absolutely amazing amazing food- we have never been disappointed with the food but when you order take out you really need to check your orders... that's why I'm giving 3 stars. They have now screwed up my order of two entrees and an appetizer not once but twice. I also ordered around 9:20 for my last take out and they said 20 minutes it will be ready, restaurant is very slow I come 25 minutes after they said 20 min and now I've been waiting in here for over 50 minutes. I also ordered the queso and chips and it comes out HALF WAY FULL so I say something to them and they tell me it was the last bit of queso. I ordered over an before thy closed and now they want to tell me they ran out of it. Oh and on top of it I signed up for eclub because I have been obsessed with this place since I tried it and I got a free queso with it and the bartender also wanted to tell me it didn't matter if it were half way full because it were free. Like are you kidding me??! I proceeded to tell her that I don't care about money and I will pay the 6$ to have a full queso anyways she got the manager and manager was nice about the situation and proceeded to give me 3 free queso coupons and a gift card. read more

I took my son to Cheddar's for lunch because he really loved it the first time we went. After today's experience, I doubt we will go back. We ordered a combo meal to split (steak and chicken tenders). It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out, delivered by another server because ours was so slammed, and no extra plate as we asked. Not a big deal, but then the steak was overcooked and the broccoli was soggy and cold. When the waitress made it back, we sent it back to be remade, which took another 15 minutes. She offered to bring my son a salad while he waited since he was eating the steak, but she never brought it. The steak came out better the 2nd time, but the broccoli was brought after the steak and was again soggy. The manager offered no discount or anything other than "sorry about the 1st steak". I'm not one to ask for a discount, so I paid, tipped the server, and left a note advising we would not be back. Such a shame, because the other 2 times I've been were good experiences with great food and service. read more

We've visited here 3 times now. The first time was the best back in early December. The last visit was not so good. We are finding they can be hit and miss on their service and service times. We had 15 of us in our last visit. We waited more than an hour to be seated together and then we weren't. We could have just come in and gotten a table in their short wait but we put in the time so we could be together. It ruined our group time together. Never go here with a group larger than will fit in one of their large booths if you care about being together. The food is decent. We like the burgers, fish tacos and love the onion rings. We will definitely be back, just not too many at a time. read more

We visited for dinner and it was moderately busy. Waitress was very friendly.The five of us ordered and waited and waited and waited. Finally orders came out...for four of us. We waited for the fifth entree. Ten minutes later we flagged down our waitress to inquire as to where the rest of our food was. Seems she forgot to order it. Another fifteen minutes and the dish was brought out. It was drowning in salt and totally inedible. Again we have to find the waitress and ordered something else. By this time the rest of us were done eating. We got the last entree to go and paid the bill. The other meals were decent but nothing to rave about. I had heard so much about Cheddar's and decided to go there for the first time on my birthday. The food was excellent and the service was very bad. We ordered the spinach dip and was served the cheese dip which came the same time as our lunch. I ordered 1/2 sweet tea and 1/2 non sweet tea. The waiter come to the table with a glass of non sweet tea and explained that sweet tea was being made and I could drink the non sweet tea. After all the good things I had heard about Cheddar's I was really surprised about the service. read more

Terrible service. This restaurant was great when it first opened and has gone steadily downhill since. We were waiting well past the time they gave us while there were at least 4 clean open tables in sight. Management was less then helpful when I asked if we could be seated. Once seated they couldn't find our waitress so someone else took our order. Then our waitress showed up and couldn't read the order so we had to order again. It is a shame because the food is not bad and the prices are good. However, this is the second time in a row that we had terrible service. Our family will not be coming back again. We were a party of 3 and our server was not attentive to us. She greeted us almost immediately but once she took our order she did not stop by our table for almost 20 minutes AFTER our food was delivered by the food runner. My son was out of his drink for over 15 minutes and she walked by our table 5 times and would not look at us. We sat in the bar area in a booth and it was not that busy. There were people seated outside and she seemed to cater to them, She would pass our table on the way out the door to the porch, like I said 5 times. She never asked if our meal was okay. My son ordered a burger and needed ketchup. After 15 minutes I finally got our servers attention and my son asked for the ketchup and extra napkins and a refill. She went over to the computer and waited behind another employee, then entered an order and chatted with another co-worker. She finally walked away and right past our table and did not bring the ketchup that was sitting right next to her left arm at the server station where she had just come from. My husband got up and got the kethcup. She finally came back with my son's drink but that was all. No ketchup, which he didn;t need now anyway, and no napkins. My husband asked for a refill of tea and finally got it after he was finished with his meal and she finally delivered the ketchup. My son was now thru with his burger. Needless to say, we were very dissappointed. The food was great and we will return for the food but thought this service was way below standard. read more

Cheddars did not seem to get good reviews when they first opened, and had a few kinks to work out as any brand new location does. We are regulars at Cheddars and we have received perfect service from the staff every single time. We have felt welcomed and the staff is inviting and friendly. The interior is really great, the aquarium really adds to the atmosphere and the restaurant is a neat place to dine...the food took a little longer the first time we dined... Which was two weeks after opening. Each time after has been very timely and the waiters/waitresses have been attentive and accurate. We have always received perfect food and the portions are absolutely worth the price. I always leave Cheddars stuffed and can barely finish my entree. I am excited to dine in the outside area when the weather warms up. I do not have many restaurants that have satisfied me enough to make it to my "regular" list of places we dine, but this place carved a spot from day one. Great place to try, affordable for a family, definitely worth a visit. read more

My family of 4 just got home from having dinner tonight at Cheddar's and we were not impressed. Though I have been there many times and received good service, I am writing this review from my experience tonight. The wait wasn't bad for a Friday night (15-20 mins). Our server was seated with three tables at the same time and we were all next to one another. Our initial contact with our server, which was the drink order, was pretty quick. However, that was the only time we felt the server was attentive. Since it took so long to get our drink, we were ready to order when she returned but decided to move on to another table. When she finally returned, my wife and I bother ordered combination dinners with a salad. Our food again took a long time to get to us. However, the server did keep filling up our drinks. When our food arrived, which was not be our server, neither my wife nor I had received our salads. About 10 minutes later our server finally checked up on us said nothing was said about our salads. My wife did ask for a side of ranch at this time but she had returned twice to our table before bringing it. After we were all done eating, it took another 10 minutes before the server checked on us. We said that we were ready for our bill and when it was brought it to us it had the salads on the bill. When I told her that neither one of us received our salads, all she did was take the bill and remove the salad from the bill. Though this is the very minimum action she could have done, I kind of expected an apology or something along those lines to make me and my wife feel important. I now feel like we were herded into dinner and were on the servers time-table. I will say that the food we did get was incredible. We believe that this negative experience was due to our server. On a side note, the table behind us was seated before us and did not receive their food until we were done eating. (Maybe I should be complaining.) Again, we both had the same server. We will return but this will be on our minds during our next visit. read more

I am not familiar with Cheddar's but my experience at the Cheddar's in Greenwood, IN was a disappointment. The wait for a table was quite reasonable, but it went downhill after that. We had to wait quite long to be waited on, the table was not cleared from the appetizers and water glasses and we soon had many empty glasses, used small plates,and the large appetizer plate still on the table for the entire visit. The food took an unreasonable time to appear and when it did two of our parties dishes did not come. One of our guests food was overdone and appeared to have sat for awhile before being served. Several minutes, and I do mean several minutes the waiter came to check on us and did realize we did not have our complete order. He checked with the kitchen and it had not been prepared. By this time the remaining members of our party were finishing up their meal so we decided to cancel our order. On their behalf they did give us a free meal to take home, but the fact remains that the table was not kept clear of empty dishes and glasses, the wait to order and receive our food was unacceptable for any restaurant. read more

The gentleman that waited on us was slightly rude, constantly interrupting us, would NOT write anything down (even though there were 8 of us at one table, and we asked him to several times), kept forgetting to bring things to us, had to be reminded several times, and then, when it came time to pay, the person who was treating us to Christmas dinner paid the bill and put a tip on the credit card slip. Our waiter took the tab and then came back to the table and "reminded" her that the gratuity wasn't included. Then, he hovered around the corner while we finished up and took a few pictures. When we walked past, he asked if he had done something wrong because of the size of the tip he had received. He said that since they had to split (we had two tables of 8), he only got half of what was written on the slip. This was very rude, and never should have happened. Even if the tip is not what you feel it is, you should never approach the customer and tell them that you feel that way. He acted as though he expected her to adjust it or give him more money. Today was my first time at this restaurant and last time to visit, I ordered my food, and it seemed to have taken a long time to get it, but I was patient and waited, well my food finally made it to my table, I was hungry, and to my disappointment my food was really cold, I waved my server and made them aware, they apologize and took my food back, my husband was done with his food by the time they brought my food back, this time it was much worse than the food being cold, my food was dripping blood, it was enough for me to ask my server to take the plate away, the server looked at my plate and before I said anything she apologized just by looking at my food, she was walking away with my plate when the server for another table was apologizing for their food being undercooked. The manager came to my table and apologized, but that is not enough for me to ever comeback. Totally disappointed. read more
