We've visited Cheddars since they opened. The quality has been up and down. This visit was definitely down. First, they ran out of chicken tenders. This, in my opinion, is a staple at Cheddars. Our server was out of his depth and seemed to get rattled very easily. The food came out late and not hot. My wife ordered beef tips with just mushrooms and the came out cold and with onions, they were very overcooked. The manager brought out the replacement and said not a word about the error. My mom and I Came in tonight and I have never experienced such terrible service from a waitress like today. The host lady was super sweet though. Avery P was our waitress, but quite frankly she was awful. We ordered an appetizer. Never came. She never checked on us, but had time to sit and chit chat with her coworkers in the booth beside us. Finally after trying to be understanding (I work as a bartender at Jonathan's so I get it trust me) I walked up to the same host who was very sweet and got us some boxes and the manager. Cheddar's food is good, although a bit industrial in the sense that you can find it at every other chain. I like the box on the table that allows you to order and pay. I am not a fan of the games and advertisements that run constantly. The staff was friendly and I would have appreciated a refill on my drink (hot day). Tried the Cheddars which is right near us and we were pleasantly surprised! Saw a lot of bad reviews but my son and I thought let's try it. We were seated right away and the server came over to take our drink order. We said it was out first time there and she said let me bring you out some of our honey butter croissants with your drinks. While we were perusing the menu out came the drinks these yummy croissants! Our server was very helpful when we asked about different items and what she recommended based on what we liked. She was spot on. The onion rings came out fast and were great, lightly battered and crisp not greasy or coated with tons of breading like most places. Our entrees followed right on time and choices of comfort food did not disappoint. We each received several refills on drinks without even having to ask , one which was from the manager who was out on the floor and checking with customers. The place was clean and decorated for the holidays. Yes it's a franchise with certain items that you expect on the menu- but there were some you don't always see. As a side note-I did use the ladies room and it was clean. We did use table check out which was convenient. I saw someone left a review stating they were annoyed by the games and ads but seriously- just turn it around, you don't have to look at ! LOL. Came here on a Monday night an hour and half before close and was a little worried we wouldn't get the best service due to the time, but I was so wrong! Abby is freaking awesome! She was nice and friendly, made some great recommendations and made sure we were in and out without sacrificing the foods quality. Hello cheddars management, I had a very unpleasant experience at cheddars. To start off as soon as I walked in I noticed the floors were very dirty. Then once my family was seated I orderedstrawberry lemonade and was given a water.... My husband ordered shrimp with no broccoli and was given shrimp with broccoli! I was hoping my children's meal would at least be good, they ordered grilled cheese with fries. I would never feed my kids cold grilled cheese that tasted like plastic and soggy French fries but that's what they were given. The atmosphere was very nice other then the fact my waited Chris lingered of smoke. First time stopping in and the service was quick and friendly. The croissants were just pure magic! They were so light and fluffy and like melt n your mouth--I am just amazed. I probably could have sat and ate those all day. They said the first round was on house so you can get additional but you will be charged. For my actual meal-I was there at lunch and did the pick two. I got the house salad and buffalo wrap and to my surprise the buffalo wrap came with fries on top of the wrap and salad. The salads came out first then then the sandwiches. The wrap was literally like a full meal. The fries were good and the wrap was okay. The sauce was kind of thin and there were pickles in the wrap. When we ate there today for dinner we had the spinach dip to start along with those amazing honey butter croissants. Some of us got chicken pot pies (YUM), one order of the chicken tenders (these are amazing), the key west chicken and shrimp meal, and an order of chicken Alfredo to go. We were all really pleased with the food, and my only complaint is that the side order of green beans was really a smaller portion than I expected, and we also asked for 2 croissants with our order to go and those were left out of the meal. I asked her for a croissant again and explained, I need this now. She fiddled around behind the bar ( maybe 8 customers in the whole place) for about another 5 minutes. I asked her again if we get that now. Finally she's goes back and brings the croissant out. Never asked if we wanted another drink, we drank our drinks before our food arrived. I ordered Chicken Alfredo, and got the French bread once I had finished eating. No apology, no nothing. The food was ok, but the service was terrible, bartender acted as if we were bothering her. We arrived at the restaurant and wanted to give it a try, for one reason it says "scratch kitchen" under the name. by all means, the food was not made from "Scratch". They first served two dry croissants with a sweet sauce which was not good to begin with. I thought about leaving from the start, but we already ordered the drinks. I ordered a Caesar Salad and country fried chicken and my Gf ordered a classic cheeseburger, medium well. She ordered the spinach dip with tortilla chips that were very greasy like they've been using the same oil all day and have not cleaned out the greaser. Either that or just the quality of the food was not even up to par. The spinach Dip was watered down made with frozen spinach and cheap cheese, while there name is called cheddars... While waiting for our entrees two employees were cleaning the table next to us and one cleaned the whole table with a napkin that was the size of a baby's hand. So we finally got our entrees after waiting for a while and thought between already what was served the entrees couldn't have been close to our standards. The Caesar salad came with pasta mixed in which I've never been served that at any restaurant, which the salad was less then ok and dressing was definitely not homemade. I had a lot of authentic Caesar salads before and this one I'd rate a 3 out of 10, the dressing was shipped from a warehouse like all of their less then mediocre food and we all know nobody wants mediocre especially when the bill was $70 total. They served two sides with my entree, green beans and mashed potatoes the Green beans were absolutely disgusting, mushy and watered down, and the mashed potatoes were dry, bland and firm. The chicken was less then decent, nothing special at all with a plain taste. no creativity or passion put into any of this food at all. The classic burger my Gf ordered was cooked well done and it was over cooked to be a rubber tire with a leather texture, let alone when the food was served there were no utensils to eat with. The reason we gave this restaurant a try was because she wanted a burger, which it looked and tasted like they grabbed it out from the freezer with no quality beef and was not specially perfected. Let alone she ate 1/4 of the burger The waitress asked to have it wrapped up for her, but she refused because she was disgusted. After the meal, we opted out on dessert because of the horrible very low quality food that was served. I didnt even want to pay the bill but the food was already in my stomach because I was hungry and into it too deep once the appetizer arrived. We should have known upon arrival there were very minimal cars there and not busy on a Friday night.. I highly DO NOT recommend, and we will not have this restaurant on our go to list. I've had Applebees and Chilis before and by far better. Cheddars is the worst food and experience I've had likely in this past 20 years. After I got a $70 bill, I felt like I got ripped off and concluded they owe me for our time being there to show people actually go their to eat. If I can give it a half star I would. We ate with another couple so that means there was more food to share. There wait wasn't too long, but because of the wait staff shortage, service was a bit slow. Not a problem for us since that gave us more time to visit. We started with the yummy Coconut shrimp - so tasty. I guess the accompanying painkiller sauce was something else. I enjoyed the shrimp just fine without it. Dinners included grilled salmon, a couple of steaks, and a rib and steak combo. Everyone enjoyed their food which had been cooked as ordered. First, the young girl working behind the bar was practically screaming everything she said. We learned her name was Sara, because the manager had to tell her that a customer had left because the girl was "freaking out". Mu husband even questioned whether she was drunk. And while we there, another person got up and left from inattention and slow service from her. Then when ordering, my husband specifically asked that his salad be brought out first, before the meal. When everything came out at the same time, the waitresses response (different girl) was "Well I was handling other tables". Umm... isn't that your job? It would have been so easy to just write it down... salad first. Instead of an apology, we just got an excuse. While we will be back for the good food, we definitely will never sit in the bar again. They refuse to hire any servers and as a result there is always a wait even though almost all the tables are empty. The last time, we came a 1:45 in the afternoon. Only 3 tables of diners. We waited 10 minutes to get seated and then left after another 10 minutes when no one ever approached our table.
