Food: 3-stars - My friends and I had a pretty big order for take-out. We had 6 entrees and 4/6 were messed up somehow. My wife's chicken and broccoli Alfredo was dry (hardly any sauce), the chicken was rubbery and broccoli was soggy. Also, her garlic bread was soggy and had a foamy texture. My country fried chicken should have included fries and a side of broccoli but the person taking our order put down a baked potato instead of fries. My friend's Cesar salad was DRENCHED in dressing even though we requested for the dressing on the side. Another order of country fried chicken did not receive its correct sides. But apparently the T-Bone steak and cheeseburger meals were prepared properly and tasted pretty good. So overall, would like to give them another chance when dining in, but definitely did not like our first experience with from this Cheddars in Goodyear. Service: 3-stars - The person taking down our order must have had a tough time hearing our order over the phone because they messed up on quite a bit of details. Although our order was pretty bad, we called back to voice our complaints and the manager was able to give us a refund for 4 of the 6 entrees. I'm sure the manager was just fed up with hearing about our complaints, and offered that as a quick resolution; the manager was not apologetic and did not voice any sympathy. And when I said thank you, the manager just hung up. Pretty sure he could use some managerial training, but I get it, we're all human and can get irritated in the hospitality business. However, stellar customer service does still exist in this industry and it's unfortunate this place does not embody that. So 3 stars is pretty fair for my experience. Ambiance: Cannot give a fair review as we ordered for take-out. So will be giving update once we have a chance to dine in. Overall: 3-stars. Not a great first experience ordering from here, but am willing to give them another chance. read more

Have been wanting to try this place for a while and I am so glad I did! Our waitress was very nice and was always checking on us, I loved that! Our food came out fresh and in a timely manner. The croissants they give you are so good and soft! I have no complaints, the apps were forsure my favorite. Our entrees were also so good, only thing that wasn't to good was the loaded baked potato. It didn't have much toppings on it so it was pretty dry. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying other items. I totally recommend the beer battered shrimp app! It was delicious! read more

Tonight was quite disappointing.. though our server was accommodating.. our corner booth was freezing and the A/C had to be turned off...the appetizers were tasty but brought out cold, (after we specifically asked for them to be hot - same problem we had on previous visit) we sent them back to be reheated. Food choices looked good but tasted quite ordinary... with sides of carrots and corn both arriving cold. Desserts looked good, so we ordered up.. a mistake since long hair was found deep in the ice cream/chocolate cake. This obviously ruined our evening. Manager was apologetic and did offset the bill. I love Darden restaurants in general for their service. They just know how to train people correctly. That being said the food here, is subpar, next to other Darden restaurants. I sat at the bar for lunch recently, and it's the first time I've had bad service. He was actually super rude, and for the most part I was ignored. I thought maybe he was just like that, and then a group of business men came in and he treated them like kings. Maybe it was because I was by myself and he didn't think he was gonna get a good tip? I don't know what the reason was, but he was mistaken, because I'm in the business, and I'm a great tipper. I still gave him more than he deserved because that's how I am. I should change that. The point is if you want generally good service, and OK food ok prices, this will serve you well. read more

Visiting AZ and stopped here to eat some lunch. Located a little bit North of the i10 freeway, it is easy to get to, and it has a nice large parking lot. Definitely not used to that in CA. When you walk in you are greeted promptly by employees and a large fish tank with bright colorful fish. To me it looks a lot larger inside than it does from the outside. The staff are nice, friendly, expedient, and checked in on us several times and brought water refills without even having to be asked. The menu has plenty of food choices, but no Turkey burger option, just beef burgers. They give you free honey butter croissants when your drinks come, and they are delicious and drizzled with honey butter. We got the chicken tender salad, the chicken tenders were good but the salad was plain, underwhelming, ok, average, nothing to write home about. I got the Monte Cristo, never tried it anywhere before, but had seen it once and always wanted to try it. Wow, yum, delicious. The Monte Cristo seems to be a great breakfast, lunch, or brunch option. It is a smoked ham and cheese sandwich dipped in batter and is like a French toast sandwich, but it is covered in powdered sugar and you get some jam/preserves to dip it in or slather on, and either way it is pretty tasty. Not sure what happened to Cheddar's but something has dreadfully changed. Visited today, welcomed by no hostess (no hostess was present when we left either). Finally, a woman showed up to seat my husband and I. As we walked by several uncleaned tables, she takes us to a table way back to a dark corner near the bar. (The place was nearly empty on a Friday at 12:30pm and this is the best you got?! Weird.) When I spoke up to say we'd prefer another table she turned and abruptly said "Well you choose!" We should've chosen the exit. Though it took a while for service to arrive, our server Alan D was nice and accommodating. The take away here...Cheddar's should realize that there are many other places to choose from these days for a meal in our area. They once had it together. It seems they lost their way. As a server before myself, I find myself being bias and knowing what to expect as I take great pride in the industry. This is a fun place to eat. They have an upbeat atmosphere and my server was no different. When it comes to the food, they are pretty similar to the other neighborhood diners; you know, like baby back ribs guys and the eatin' good in the neighborhood guys (although I like Cheddar's more.) My wife and I had a chicken pot pie and a salad. The salad was really good and the pot pie was not bad, not great. But the service tonight made the difference. The server was happy and the manager was engaged. I believe his name was Tim. He was out and about in the restaurant helping the other workers and socializing with guests. That's the kind of thing that made a difference between these guys and some of the others. Cheddar's does have a comprehensive food and drink menu and are great for a family meal after a movie at Harkins. It's is really good to have them here. read more

We have to try southern food when we visit Arizona. This place met all our expectations or went above. Service was awesome, and the food was great. My favorite items are, Cajun pasta, coconut shrimps and hamburger. Chicken fried steak was in the bland side but the sides were delicious. I tried Maui margarita. It's great on a hot day. The server was very attentive and polite. She made us feel very comfortable. Can't ask for more. If you want to try southern food, don't miss this place. Prices were also lower than we thought considering the huge portions that you get. Definitely you're getting the bang for your bucks. Second time here! First time was 2 years ago! I came with my friend for a Valentines Day date. The food was delicious! We ordered the queso fries as an appetizer and they were good! I orders the steak and chicken tenders! They were delicious and the tenders were nice and crispy! The highlight was the two free croissants you get before the meal with honey butter. Tip: use fork to eat croissants or you will have sticky hands the whole meal. Ribs: the first two were good, but the rest just did not taste good. It was strange, but for $14, not a great meal. The cole slaw was crunchy and then we tried the Baked Potato soup, which was loaded with too many potatoes in our opinion, but not that bad. The worst entree was the chicken wrap. The blue cheese dressing had a nice zip but the salad was mostly shredded carrots, which was underwhelming. My wife had the chicken salad which she really enjoyed and we split a piece of cheesecake which was awesome! The waitress seemed a tad distracted though, and she bought it in a togo container.
