We were out pretty late and looking for something that was open till at least 10 and we came across cheddars. We are pleased to see a bar and told it was open seating so that was a plus because there were people waiting to be seated.. service at the bar was friendly and we had drinks really quick. We went to eat, and we were waiting to be seated, where there was a couple that walked in after us. The manager was gonna see us and got sidetracked put our stuff down, and the girl knew we were waiting to be seated and she said them before us, and then they proceeded to have an attitude when I said we were waiting to be seated. The Croissant rolls are too yummy. The Wisconsin Cheese Bites are a good choice for an appetizer. I selected the Fall-Off-The-Plate Baby Back Ribs with Red Beans & Rice and Green Beans as my sides. The taste of the green beans grew on me. A full rack is definitely two meals. Ok, I don't know about these reviews here. I personally came with a family group and had a great time. Our server was by far the best I've had in a long time. I was shocked how many times he not only check on us, but the fact he carried all six entrees with him. He was on top of everything, funny, and just great at his job. Especially with how busy the night was. I was not expecting the croissants in the beginning. Like who decided to make some of the most complicated breads? They were light, fluffy, buttery, and sweet. Kind of reminded me of the taste of sweet bread with a crisp from the layers. I think it's genius of them to have this as their bread identity. I ordered the corn meal crusted white fish with red beans & rice and broccoli. It was a hefty plate and I definitely had leftovers. I loved the steamed broccoli and it had garlic sauteed with it. On this recent occasion we went to celebrate my birthday. The young lady who waited on us was neutral, not friendly but not rude well at least not until we were ready to leave. I asked her for change for a $20 since I like to leave cash as tips. She informed me I would have to wait for a while to get my change. Ok. I figured maybe a couple minutes. After watching her walk past us several times without any acknowledgment I press the service button. She came to the table with an attitude and said "do you need something?"! Yes, I need my change. I brought my dad here to try a different restaurant other than Black Bear Diner. He's a creature of habit and likes what he likes. As long as it's American comfort food I knew he'd find something he would like. I thought he would order the chicken strips and fries but he surprised me and ordered meatloaf. I tried it and thought it was just ok. He liked and enjoyed it so that's all that matters. I ordered the country fried chicken with country gravy. The chicken was crispy and juicy. It was really good. The gravy and mashed potatoes were delicious, the green beans could've been seasoned they were kind of bland. There was a piece of Texas toast under the chicken which I thought was unnecessary. Their croissants are melt in your mouth yummy! Casual and clean and it wasn't too busy when we arrived. Overall our experience was great because our server Ethan made it quite an enjoyable experience for us, as quality service is hard to come by nowadays. I ordered creamy garlic tilapia and shrimp with seasoned rice and Cole slaw. It was a great combo!! The sauce paired the shrimp very well and the tilapia was crispy to the bite. I was finally able to make it here and try some of the food , We had quite a large party and I would say the wait time was pretty good for showing up last minute they were able to get us in pretty quick. We were able to get are drinks and appetizers pretty quick. For apps we got the Onion Rings which were a good quantity but a little soggy for me I definitely prefer the beer battered type, We also got the Wisconsin Cheese bites and they were really good and came with a good amount. Now for the entrees I ended up getting the Monte Cristo which was good but different since it is like fair food and fried in batter but had really good flavor. We also got the Lemon pepper chicken with vegetables and I will say the chicken was amazing such good flavor and so juicy. I also forgot the complimentary croissants which were so so good definitely a nice addition upon arriving.We also got the Top Sirloin steak and ribs platter which my daughter said was so good and definitely a really good portion of food , needless to say there was plenty left to take home. I love Darden restaurants in general for their service. They just know how to train people correctly. That being said the food here, is subpar, next to other Darden restaurants. I sat at the bar for lunch recently, and it's the first time I've had bad service. He was actually super rude, and for the most part I was ignored. I thought maybe he was just like that, and then a group of business men came in and he treated them like kings. Maybe it was because I was by myself and he didn't think he was gonna get a good tip? I don't know what the reason was, but he was mistaken, because I'm in the business, and I'm a great tipper. I still gave him more than he deserved because that's how I am. I should change that. The point is if you want generally good service, and OK food ok prices, this will serve you well. read more

The croissants they give you are so good and soft! I have no complaints, the apps were forsure my favorite. Our entrees were also so good, only thing that wasn't to good was the loaded baked potato. Tonight was quite disappointing.. though our server was accommodating.. our corner booth was freezing and the A/C had to be turned off...the appetizers were tasty but brought out cold, (after we specifically asked for them to be hot - same problem we had on previous visit) we sent them back to be reheated. Food choices looked good but tasted quite ordinary... with sides of carrots and corn both arriving cold. Desserts looked good, so we ordered up.. a mistake since long hair was found deep in the ice cream/chocolate cake. This obviously ruined our evening. Manager was apologetic and did offset the bill. Food: 3-stars - My friends and I had a pretty big order for take-out. We had 6 entrees and 4/6 were messed up somehow. My wife's chicken and broccoli Alfredo was dry (hardly any sauce), the chicken was rubbery and broccoli was soggy. Also, her garlic bread was soggy and had a foamy texture. My country fried chicken should have included fries and a side of broccoli but the person taking our order put down a baked potato instead of fries. My friend's Cesar salad was DRENCHED in dressing even though we requested for the dressing on the side. Another order of country fried chicken did not receive its correct sides. But apparently the T-Bone steak and cheeseburger meals were prepared properly and tasted pretty good. So overall, would like to give them another chance when dining in, but definitely did not like our first experience with from this Cheddars in Goodyear. Service: 3-stars - The person taking down our order must have had a tough time hearing our order over the phone because they messed up on quite a bit of details. Although our order was pretty bad, we called back to voice our complaints and the manager was able to give us a refund for 4 of the 6 entrees. I'm sure the manager was just fed up with hearing about our complaints, and offered that as a quick resolution; the manager was not apologetic and did not voice any sympathy. And when I said thank you, the manager just hung up. Pretty sure he could use some managerial training, but I get it, we're all human and can get irritated in the hospitality business. However, stellar customer service does still exist in this industry and it's unfortunate this place does not embody that. So 3 stars is pretty fair for my experience. Ambiance: Cannot give a fair review as we ordered for take-out. So will be giving update once we have a chance to dine in. Overall: 3-stars.
