    Shrimp and Chips

My Husband and I have been trying new restaurants all over the West Valley. Tonight we tried Ed's Fish and Chips and we were so impressed! You can literally smell the food cooking when you walk in and the restaurant is very clean. We ordered the 10 piece and 7 piece shrimp and chips. We also tried the fried zucchini which was fresh and delicious! The owner Mark told us that the shrimp is breaded fresh daily. Mark also told us that the restaurant has been there for 40 years but that he just took it over last July. The shrimp had great flavor and it tasted fresh not frozen. The french fries were cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly and the owner Mark was very welcoming. We usually eat everything on site but tonight we came home with some food. The portions are generous. Well worth the drive from Glendale or anywhere in the valley. We cannot wait to go back next Friday. We will be trying the catfish next. We highly recommend this place. Follow them on Instagram.

    This is the dinner.

So the fish is square frozen patties like Pete's but only tough and chewy. The shrimp is terrible. Just mostly over cooked and no taste or resemblance of fish. The lady at the front was very nice and she came and asked how it was and when explained she just replied I am Not the owner or anything. The family setting is nice. It's extremely overpriced. The portions are a good size if it was edible.

We used to like eating here but not anymore. This was our last time coming to this place. Where is the fish? We spent $30 for deep fried burnt breading.

This is a burger from Ed's. They serve perfect diner-style burgers, and I don't know what that means but I know that I love it.

We came back here and it was just as good as before. The same family has owned this joint for like 40 years, and I hope they keep it going for generations to come. It's quiant, unpretentious, friendly, and just downright perfect.

The only thing I don't like about this location is that it's right next to the freeway with a tiny lot. This place is so popular, I feel they could have easily chose a location a few blocks down or somewhere else in Avondale with more space as we know, night or day- it feels claustrophobic to come here. But, noms nom-the-less

Once you're in, you're trapped--and you better not be in a hurry. Drive-Thru = Danger Zone Unless it's your lucky day, expect to wait 20 to 40 minutes--sometimes more. It's absolutely insane how consistently slow this location is. I've been to plenty of In-N-Outs all across Arizona, and this one is hands-down the worst for wait time. Sometimes the line starts out on the actual street, right after getting off the 10. You're literally blocking traffic just trying to get into the parking lot. It feels like drive-thru roulette, and most times you lose. Food & Service Inside? Same reliable In-N-Out experience--friendly staff, clean interior, fast turnaround. It's almost always faster to walk in and order than sit in the drive-thru forever. The food is usually done right, and I've only had two order mistakes--but one of those happened after I had already waited forever and driven 25 minutes home, only to realize it was wrong. Now I check the bag every single time before pulling away. Parking & Traffic When it's busy, just trying to get into the parking lot feels like a death wish. The entrance gets completely clogged, and people end up stuck halfway in the street, which is stressful and dangerous. Bottom Line: Food? Great. Staff? Fine. But the drive-thru is a black hole of time, and it's wild that after all these years, it's still this bad. If you're brave enough to try, I strongly suggest going inside instead--unless you brought a podcast, snacks, and the patience of a saint. Review written while sitting in drive thru- it's been 21 minutes so far and I'm not even halfway through the drive through.

I stopped by on a Saturday night to finally check it out. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the trompo right away, which is always a good sign. I stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady up front. After looking over the menu, I ordered two tacos de tripa and two tacos de suadero. She asked if I wanted the tripas extra crispy I said no. I also asked how they prepare the suadero since I didn't see a choricera, but she wasn't sure. When the food came out, the tripas were a letdown. The texture was off, almost like a stale chip, and they were clearly overcooked. I asked if I could swap them for something safer, so I went with asada instead, but that didn't impress either. It didn't taste very fresh. Now here's the reason you should come to Tacos Chilangos: the suadero. Even though it's not cooked the traditional way, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect meat-to-fat ratio, super flavorful, and easily the standout. The guacamole salsa was top tier. I kept going back to that one over the others. All in all definitely stop by to try the suadero as for as the other two I'd would probably give them a second try.

It's, in all honesty, my second time here- I came for breakfast in 2023- it was very mid, the service sucked, it wasn't clean inside, we waited forever and there were MANY ppl waiting.... But, we all have bad days, right? Ok....So, tho I was reluctant to try this place again, I wanted the turkey burger so I said-why not? I looked at the ONLINE TO GO MENU, called and placed my order and went to pick it up. Now online it said the burger was $6 and change- not bad, and a small zucchini fries was $5 and change. I'm anticipating this meal to cost about $13 maybe $14... I get in to pick up and the food is ready...the woman at the counter tells me $18.89...?! Of course I IMMEDIATELY recount my order to her and tell her what the online menu said to which she tells me that "they had someone make the online menu for them and they've been trying to get them to update the prices, but they won't." Sooooo my burger is ACTUALLY $9.99.... I'm IRRITATED because that's LITERALLY FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, but I'm hungry and on my lunch break, so I pay.... Now, I get to the car and try one of my zucchini fries- these are THE BLANDEST, with NOT AN OUNCE of seasoning having, just unappealing tasteless zuch fries I've EVER HAD. I'm instantly pissed. It gets worse... This $10 turkey burger with ONLY (and yes this is how it comes, but I asked for no mayo) questionable lettuce and tomato is as bland as the Zuch fries. The bun wasn't special or too soft really... it was legit just tomato, lettuce and a frozen turkey patty- dasit. Not a big or a generous portion- a just a regular patty, 1 slice of tomato and questionably fresh lettuce-TEN DOLLARS. Because I spent pretty much $20 on this, I tried to eat it- but couldn't finish it bc the zucchini fries had a weird smell, were gross and the only thing that was good about this was the ranch that came from the fries. I gave up on the turkey burger...Let me add, my stomach hurts as I type this, I don't feel too good as all.... I'm not surprised. All in all- never ever again. 2nd and LAST time ever.

The restaurant is located near several businesses, including KFC, Walgreens, and a Sam's Club gas station, making it an easy stop while out and about. The staff inside were very friendly, and we only had to wait a few minutes for our order to be ready. Everything was packaged well when we received it. However, once we got home about 15 minutes later, we were disappointed with the food quality. The fries were extremely soggy and tasted undercooked, as if they had been taken out too soon. The burger was also soggy and did not taste freshly made -- it seemed like it may have been sitting for a while before pickup. Fortunately, I was able to contact Whataburger customer service. They kindly provided additional reward points for a future visit, and I also requested a refund since we were unable to enjoy the meal. This experience was disappointing because it's not what we're used to at other locations. A helpful tip would be to ensure fries are cooked fully so they stay crisp, avoid over-salting the food, and make sure orders are prepared fresh rather than sitting too long before customers arrive.

I live in LA and this is the closest location and I just happen to be coming to the Phoenix area to hike, so it became my moment to finally try what my friend had long been raving about! We all have fondness for things we grew up with, so I really wasn't sure what to expect based on my friends reviews. My first thoughts were how clean and well kept everything was, the staff was very pleasant, the menu, simple, yet robust, which also includes breakfast in the early hours before 11am. I was thinking it would be another greasy spoon, like a Burger King, but it was more on the level of a Chick-fil-A because of how pleasant and excited the employees appeared, as well as, the care taken for every aspect of the business. The food was made-to-order, the portions were much larger than I expected, the ingredients were all high-end, and it was packaged with care. I had ordered two sandwiches because it was my first time, but apparently she sold me a third one that I didn't know about, but that was OK, since I wanted to try as much as I could. Since the portions were larger than expected, I took the other two sandwiches with me for our long journey back to LA. (had one when I got home at 9pm, and had the other for breakfast). I wouldn't say the food was particularly unique, or stood out in any manner other than the fact that it was fresh, made with quality items and was tasty and filling; however, the collective experience was enjoyable, and I would frequent it if there was one in my area.
