Bourbon Glazed Grilled Salmon on Rice with Corn

Recently I met friends here for a late lunch & we were seated right away. Our server was so personable & efficient. She brought us Honey Butter Croissants while we browsed the menu & she kept our drinks full throughout lunch. One thing I love about Cheddar's is the portion of food for the price - I think it's a great deal! I ordered the Lemon Pepper Chicken on a bed of rice with Southern Green Beans that melt in your mouth & a side Caesar Salad for a small up charge. I had a whole chicken breast & rice leftover for the next day. My friends ordered different Salmon dishes & they ate everything. The menu is a good variety & there's plenty of seating for couples up to larger groups.

The food was super good, and the waitress was so sweet and funny. I really enjoyed it and the setting is so dark and cozy.

Large restaurant that serves approximately 80 people. Cozy environment, laid back. Our server promptly took our order and the turnaround rime was relatively quick. I had a half rack of ribs that I couldn't finish due to the portion size. Oh well, I have a midnight snack!

I've been to one in Atlanta years ago, finally came to this one. The chicken tenders and shrimp didn't have seasoning, you definitely had to use the honey mustard for flavor. Loved the croissant and drink.

    Beautiful dining room.

Totally unexpected experience. What a beautiful building and friendly staff. The food tased excellent but had a few issues. (Medium burger was well done and lettuce was wilted). Father's Day today and we had a beautiful time. The day was tainted by poor maintenance of the facility. Our booth was sticky, the table was sticky, the floor was wet from humidity and smelled like it was cleaned with old bleach. We waited outside for our table where I had to clean my arms from the dirt on the walls and the cigarette disposal was so neglected it was stopped up with ash. Sad that such an excellent experience could be overshadowed by neglecting your building. Friday.... Our server. Was amazing. She single handedly saved our impression of the restaurant. She was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

I thoroughly enjoyed trying this restaurant out. It was my first time here and the food was very good. I ordered the New Orleans pasta and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly spiced, perfectly seasoned. All I asked for was some extra Alfredo sauce and that set it off! Also, the butter croissant top tier! I will go there again when I'm back in the area.

I've been a fan of Cheddars since I lived in Texas. Its been many years since I've been to one and I was not disappointed with my visit to this location. Unlike many restaurants this one seems to have a full staff, so even though they were full i got a seat right away and the food didn't take long to come out. The food tasted as good as I remembered and I will make sure it doesn't take years for me to come back again

Not bad but could have been a lot better. We drove over to Gastonia to give Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen a try. We had dined there a number of years and it was pretty good but not great. Church let out at 10:30 and it was around 11:10 am when we got there which was OK since they do not open till 11:00 am. Hostess checked us in and we were escorted to our booth which was on the far side of the restaurant. My wife likes football and the two big screens on both ends of the room were on football pregame programing. We were half way between both of them. My wife asked if we could be moved closer to one or the other of them and were informed that they could not do that since we had already had our seats assigned and they could not move us. During the course of our stay, there was at least four unoccupied booths behind where I was setting and only one ever was occupied. Behind my wife, extending into the next room, there were probably six and of those, only one was occupied. For lunch, I ordered the Country Fried Steak with White Gravy, Broccoli Cheddar side with a Side Salad to start with Balsamic Dressing. My wife ordered the Chicken Dijon with Green Beans and a Cup of Soup. In both cases, the Soup and the Salads came out fairly quickly less than a minute, our entrees showed up just after we had started on our Soup and in my case, Salad. You would think that getting your order than quick would mean nice and hot but my wife had to send her's back with a request to microwave it because it was tepid at best. She enjoyed the Soup and the Salad was not bad although heavy on lettuce with only one cherry tomato cut in half and little else. The Chicken Dijon was as I pointed out, had to be reheated and while portion size was large enough to warrant a too go box, it was not one of my wife's favorites, she took it home and had second thoughts and discarded what was left over. Initial impression of the Country Fried Steak is that this is enormous but as I started eating, I realized that it was presented on a slice of Texas Toast that in presentation, made it look thicker than it actually was. It was not hot but warmer than my wife's entrée so I ate it. Not bad but the cut of meat was not very tender. The Texas Toast was good but would have preferred it on the side. Based on the temperature of the entrees when they were presented, I question rather everything is really from Scratch or does that mean it's prepared from Scratch ahead of time and reheated when the customer orders the item. Food was OK at best but apparently not willing to accommodate a customers seating request in a restaurant that at the time was only about 20% occupied indicates a certain disdain for the customers.

It's one…read moreof those comfort foods I don't eat often because it's so rich--but when I see it on a menu, it absolutely catches my attention. That's exactly what drew me to The Southern Pecan in SouthPark. Here in the South, they call it country fried steak, and I'm happy to report this one did not disappoint. I met a colleague there for lunch, and everything about the experience felt easy from the start. The restaurant is located in Phillips Place, a lovely little shopping area that feels a bit polished and upscale--with shops like Orvis, Tory Burch, and even a Restoration Hardware restaurant nearby. They do offer valet parking, which is a nice touch, though honestly parking is easy enough on your own. We had reservations through OpenTable and were seated on the patio, which was absolutely delightful for this time of year in Charlotte. The weather was perfect, the setting was relaxed, and the service started off warm and welcoming right away. Now, the food. The country fried steak was beautifully cooked--crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy that hit all the nostalgic notes from my Texas upbringing. I paired it with a vegetable side (I believe it was broccoli or corn), and it was a classic Southern plate done right. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, and to finish, we split a praline bread pudding, which felt like the perfect Southern ending to the meal--sweet, comforting, and indulgent without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and one of the things I continue to appreciate about Charlotte is how easy it is to connect with people. We even chatted with diners at nearby tables, which added to that welcoming, community feel that makes dining out here so enjoyable--especially for someone coming from the Bay Area. Prices felt fair for the quality, the setting, and the portion sizes, and overall the experience left a great impression. Bottom line: If you're craving a solid Southern classic like country fried steak--or just want a relaxed patio lunch in a charming part of SouthPark--The Southern Pecan is definitely worth a visit. And as someone happily eating my way through Charlotte and the Southeast, this stop was another reminder that the journey has been a delicious one.

I've heard rave reviews about this place so Michelle & I went for Sunday Brunch…read more They recommended a reservation so we had one @ 12n. It was already quite busy when we arrived and it's not clear where your parking options are. People are pulling up to the entrance and dropping people off so it gets jammed up and chaotic, of course people are running late so those BIG Yukons and Suburbans are making it a challenge to navigate a small entrance area. You would THINK they would at least have a Valet option of Sat/Sun during Brunch. To park, go BEHIND the restaurant on the street to the left and you'll see some free parking options that are close and walkable. We asked for a table on the patio and were immediately seated. The bar was already buzzing with solo diners enjoying their Mimosas. The patio is NOT that big, a little over crowded and table are very close with not much space in between. There was a LARGE group of 'FUN' ladies right beside us enjoying their MIMOSAS, dropping the 'F' bomb from time to time and making a LOT of noise. What can you do? Nothing but try to make the best of it and just start talking LOUDER like everyone else. The OVERHEAD heaters were way too intense so the Staff was very responsive at our request to turn down the heat. We shared the BBQ Shrimp Starter which was SO good, I highly recommend. I had the Gumbo and Michelle had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both had the Red Fish which comes with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were so BLAND, the broccoli had NO seasoning. The Red Fish wasn't that great of a flavor and not very tender, not easy to cut, had to use my knife at times to get a bite. Kinda disappointed, I lived in N Orleans for a couple of years and it was always so good there. The biggest disappointment was the Gumbo. It had all the right ingredients but the ROUX was to strong, dark and heavy. It actually gave me indigestion afterwards. The service was OUTSTANDING. Our Server was Daylean, she was so nice and helpful with the menu and kept our refills coming.

My friend found this spot and I have to say, I'm not going to say the "S" word - because it didn't apply. It was all Hospitality. The first interaction was like we had stepped into someone's home and were told to make ourselves at home. And the rest was the same. The gentleman walked us through the menu. Pretty much the entire line up of options. Not a condescending or impatient tone - warm and welcoming. Same with the next person. Even convinced my friend to get a dessert. Not that I need my arm twisted. The dining area was well kept. Clean. The condiments were well stocked and organized. I saw two different team members taking care of business there even asking if I needed anything. Bathrooms were immaculate. Don't see that very often - at least I don't in public places. The food was what we were looking for. Comfort food. With taste, not muted - just good flavor and consistency. A far cry from the bland, dry foods we had experienced the days prior. It was one of the first meals I really enjoyed on this trip to NC. Not saying that others were bad - they just didn't align with my taste preferences/expectations. Something about how Fried Chicken and Pork Chops are prepared in the South (or NOT California). Tender. Juicy. Mac & Cheese - not watery or overcooked. And I don't think I've ever had bad collared greens in my life. It's one of the handful of green vegetables I love having. Almost forgot parking. It's in kinda a plaza/strip mall setting. Free space and lots when we went (lunch). Not having to look for or pay for parking is always a plus for me. So, it's a chain. But I'd definitely go back. I almost ordered more but was saving the stomach space for dinner.

Webb Custom Kitchen - Gastonia 10:45am Mothers Day…read more My son asked me where I wanted to go for Mother's Day. I had been to Webb a few times. I thought he would enjoy the theme, environment/vibe so that was my suggestion! Of course they didn't let us down lol! He was looking up the movie that was playing on the screen with Barbara Stanwick and a young Kirk Douglas. We loved the music they had playing as well so many memories wow what a throwback! We were seated upstairs and had a wonderful view of the screen, not to mention the activities in the kitchen down below. Really it's the best seat if you call for reservations! We ordered off of the brunch menu for main dishes, I told him he absolutely had to try a couple of the appetizers! We had fried green tomatoes, and the angry lobster to start. Both were absolutely wonderful and exactly what I expected so definitely consistent. We ordered two Benedict dishes. I got the crabcake Benedict and he got the eggs with ham. Everything was very good, but when it comes to crabcakes, I can't lie. Nothing compares to 131 main so the size of the Crabcakes - I was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong. They were fresh, but too thin and the flavor and texture were not to my personal preference. The crab kind of got lost in all the other ingredients. I would definitely try a different dish next time. I ordered a side of bacon, perfectly cooked and great flavor. Along with the side of their mac & cheese, which has always been a favorite. I love the combination of cheeses that they use. It's such a treat! Lastly, we had to have their Parmesan truffle fries. Again consistent, excellent! They are always busy so reservations are required versus recommended to be honest. But we parked for free across the street because we were there early. Sadly, neither one of us had room for dessert, but their desserts are so good and the helpings are huge. Maybe next time!
