After trying three other packed spots for the Fourth of July, we ended up at Pita Wheel. Surprisingly, it was not busy at all, so we grabbed seats at the bar and decided to give it a try. The service was not great, especially considering how quiet it was, but we were hungry and willing to wait. While waiting, there was plenty of decor to check out and TVs to keep us entertained. We ordered drinks and settled in. I went with the Alabama Slamma Wrap, and my friend ordered the Epic Club Wrap. My wrap was bursting with flavor. The Nashville hot sauce and pickles were absolutely on point. My side of cucumber salad was decent, although it had a little too much feta for my taste--but honestly, who doesn't love cheese? My friend enjoyed his wrap and his side salad as well. Despite the slow service, I am glad we found this spot. The food made up for the wait, and I would definitely go back to try more of their menu. read more

Dinner on 7/20, sat at the bar with a buddy. I've been to Pita Wheel many of times, this was my first visit to their Belmont location. The restaurant itself wasn't very busy, but was clean, open and the lighting and temperature were both good. After a quick chat with the bartender I ordered a burger, tricked up a bit, side of fries and a cold beer.Nicole was our bartender and she did great, friendly & knowledgeable about the menu. Burger was cooked perfectly and arrived as I ordered it and timely. Burger was juicy and flavorful, bun was fresh & soft. Fries were good too. The show stealer was the onion rings my buddy ordered and I snuck a few. Hands down the best onion rings I've had. Nice crunch from the breading and no overbearing onion flavor or soggy onion. With sketches of Cheech and Chong (younger folks won't know them) and a bar tap area that has the front end of a Volkswagen, this place has it all. Special drinks and beer can accommodate most people. My wife had a Carmel Apple mimosa while I had a local NC beer. They have daily drink specials. The service was awesome and the people are so nice. The menu has something for everyone. We shared the chicken pesto club wrap and some kettle chips. Can you say YUM!!! The whole combination works so well. The fries were the last dredges, tiny pieces and I ate them with a fork to keep my fingers out of the ketchup trying to dip them. He ordered gyro and they had no hot sauce. So happy to have a Pita Wheel closer to me now! We love this local spot for solid food, beers and something the kids will enjoy! The kids always love their corn dog and Mac and cheese, so that's a staple in our order. Then my husband and I switch it up from time to time. Our staples are usually the various cheesesteak pitas with either the house chips or fried pickles (they're both delish and you get a heaping portion). Today I went with the buffalo chicken pita. It was good, but the marinated chicken was on the dry side, so I was glad for the buffalo sauce. Yum!!! I was very surprised how much I enjoyed this place and can't wait to go back! It was absolutely delicious. I ordered the pimento philly pita. The shaved sirloin is some of the best I've ever had. It was the star of the show by far. The sweet potato fries weren't bad. But I could eat a pita and just be good! I also tried the Cheech and Chong philly which was equally amazing. The service was great. The drinks were interesting and very fun to try. I liked both of mine! I cook a lot at home. When I venture out (i.e. date nights or a birthday), I go to Pita Wheel. My husband craves good cheeseburgers but he always orders the Grecian pita at Pita Wheel. (I need to order a cheeseburger to go so he can see what the other options are) I love jalapeños and the Southern Philly is my go-to. The recipes are consistent and the staff are amazing. Heavily fried and very little fresh food. I was expecting a healthier Mediterranean style menu that offered more than 1 vegetarian option. Ordered grilled cheese for the kids and it was a warmed folded up Pita with melted cheese - my guess is it was microwaved. The kids didn't care for it. I've heard great things about the Gastonia location but after 3 tries in Belmont, I don't understand the hype. The service is good and staff is friendly, the environment is fun, but the food is nothing to write home about. So far, I've tried the Philly pita, the falafel pita, fries, Buffalo chicken nachos, and mozzarella sticks and everything has been pretty mediocre. The queso didn't even taste like real cheese, it was extremely plastic-like and had a weird scent. The gyro was tough and chewy and had grizzle all throughout. Although the food was quick, our waitress (Alyssa) told us most of the food was not fresh, and often precooked before each service, and it reflected with how tough, chewy and disgusting my husbands wings were. When asked to speak with a manager on the phone the next day, the manager who I talked to (Amber) was extremely rude, even though I explained how my husband and I were feeling physically ill and might have to go to the hosptial. Never had a bad experience with pita wheel until I came to the Belmont location. I live within walking distance and decided to walk down around 9 considering their hours say 11:00 pm Saturday on the door and on Google I figured we had plenty of time to relax get a beer and enjoy our food. We were greeted with a "just to let you know we close in 20 minutes so do you still wanna eat ?" And the place already had several people in the restaurant. I asked if they were closing early and she just replied 20 minutes so we decided to order a drink from the bar and just get our food to go considering the already unwelcoming atmosphere. We ordered our food and it came out within 5 minutes before we even got our bar drinks. Then we waited 15 minutes for our bar drinks so by this time our boxed to go food was already cold. I had gotten the Grecian salad no tomatoes no olives extra dressing. My wife had a Philly pita and requested her chips crispy and a side of blue cheese. We paid for the blue cheese and never got it. So my wife asked for the blue cheese and then "Paloma" charged us again even though we hadn't received the dip. We waited to speak with her before leaving the money to let her know we had already been charged but didn't receive it. She proceeded to get extremely rude and argue with us about the situation so we left. When we got home we opened our food and it was a disaster the meat wasn't even in the pita, their were an ungodly amount of olives and tomatoes on my salad to the point it looked like it was done intentional and I get this salad every single time I visit pita wheel. Whatever dressing she gave me was not the normal Greek dressing it was basically Worcestershire sauce and I had no way of walking it back up there since they closed an hour earlier than what is on the door and online so 28.00 and we couldn't even eat our food or take it back to have it fixed. Worst pita wheel experience ever and I have been a loyal pita wheel customer since the opening of Dallas. Overall just very disappointed in the service from "Paloma" and the attitude and argumentative dispute over something so small. We will continue to support pita wheel in Gastonia the staff is much friendlier and hospitable there but we will not be back to Belmont again even though it's closer to us. I don't mean to be a prude but I have worked in hospitality 17 years and I was just baffled at the exchange between ourselves and the server, very unprofessional and not a good representation of the great pita wheel. read more
