Fork unused by my party, still dirty from previous diner

Generous star rating here as it started at about three stars, then vibed downward. In a real pinch or bad weather, they'll do. Pulled in for lunch as the weather toyed with travelers. The place was basically empty but with plenty of staff. For some reason, it still took a while to be seated. That happens, but maybe they should have spent the extra time inspecting silverware. Caked on food from someone else's dining experience is gross, unacceptable and entirely preventable. If this is and has been an issue in the past - check your silverware before sending it out. Were my circumstances really the first occurrence? Better yet, if that's too hard just serve food with plastic-wrapped sanitary plasticware until your washing situation is figured out. It may be embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as silverware with unsolicited leftovers. Besides that unsettling image - the food was fine and service fair besides also forgetting my dining partner's soup. Thanks Cheddar's, you gave us something to talk about but no reason to come back. Unfortunately circumstances such as these fully undermine confidence in what's occurring in the kitchen. Ultimately by the time it was all over, things were vibin' in the one star range. Happy to be generous with the extra star. Best of luck to the dishwashers and whoever double-checks their work.

This is the online order proof that I ordered Bourbon-Glazed Salmon & Shrimp.

Hire enough people and have enough menu items to be able to complete your order. Our order was 30 minutes late, which isn't the end of the world, but instead of calling us to tell us each time they were out of something we had ordered, they sent the car hop. We saw the car hop 4 times before we got some of the food we ordered. The whole experience was a debacle. Then the order was incomplete. The broccoli casserole was good, but by the time we actually got our food it was cold.

We found this place on Yelp and opted to give it a try and we are glad we did. First and foremost, our sever, a woman named Martha, was incredible. Fast, personable and attentive. A real asset to this business. The building is beautiful and well kept inside and out. It has a very unique and appealing debit I really enjoyed. Especially the colorful fish. The food came out quite quickly for the type of place it is. A slightly higher end sit down type place akin to a Red Lobster. The good itself was well prepared, tasted hot and fresh and was plated nicely. The salmon was especially tasty as was the shrimp pasta. I highly encouraged you to give this place a try.

That said, the bacon definitely made up for it--thick-cut, perfectly crispy, and super satisfying. The real star, though, was the biscuit. It had an amazing texture--fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of structure--and the homemade blackberry jam was absolutely delicious. It added the perfect touch of sweetness and really elevated the whole meal. Overall, a good spot with some great elements. I'd definitely come back.

I haven't found a good fried chicken place in over 25 years, and when I bit into the chicken and tasted their garlic mashed potatoes I realized that I had found the next best thing to what one believes grandma's home cook meal would taste like. The side biscuit was a treat to have and went well with honey or their wonderful jam. In fact, my husband and I are certain that their biscuits and gravy for breakfast must be wonderful based on their side biscuit. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly as well. I also noticed how quickly food was served for anyone waiting for their meals after they were ordered. I anticipate that we will be back to enjoy their other food options.

My drink had a rose petal in it, but that little touch didn't feel contrived or cheeky - it was just a nice pop of color in a great-tasting drink. The baked Boursin cheese was absolutely amazing - I walked out of there realizing I probably ate half a wheel of cheese, and I totally didn't regret it. Dinner was the highlight - I ordered the boom boom shrimp - served on a bed of sushi rice, there were mangos, thinly sliced jalapeños, purple cabbage, shrimp fried to perfection, and a nicely flavored boom boom sauce on top. My only criticism of this place is that plates come out of the kitchen as they make them, so be prepared to share a dish or wait. We were halfway through my dinner before my friend's fish and chips arrived. I'm happy to share, but I'm not a fan of this dining trend. Overall fantastic dinner experience!!

Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.

I shared my food with her daughter, I felt ILL the next day- throwing up, nonstop diarrhea (Thank God I work from home), sweating and dizzy and her daughter had the some issues (just mild compare to mine since she didn't eat much as she felt the ribs were dry). I reached out to the owner, Gerald Nathan, and first he blamed covid (no I don't have covid, I even got tested as I assumed the same as first and also I am fully vaccinated), then he accuses my friend of POISONING me. I simply reached out to make him aware of the issue, and I understand I order when they were finally starting to shut down (I ordered round 7;30, they close at 8), and honestly things happen, and this was his response. this isn't a proper way to treat customers.

I'm originally from West Virginia where great biscuits are a religious observance. These are great biscuits, the best I have had north of the Mason/Dixon line ... by a lot. Everything about this place was about surpassing my expectations. Let's start with the sausage. It's locally sourced. It has this rich mellowness to it that is just lovely. It's not particularly spicy, not as peppery or sage-y as a lot of sausage you will get on most breakfast biscuits. Wonderfully subtle, and it works perfectly with their biscuits. So ... the plain biscuit. I tend to think of biscuits as having a very fluffy inside, a bit of crispness on the outside. Certainly the latter, but the inside is quite dense, but still soft. It doesn't have the saltiness that a lot of the biscuits I have had in the Midwest have had. Just a really wonderfully rich flavor. They do like to crumble a bit, so if you are eating them in the car keep the foil in your hand. The Cheddah Biscuit Oh my ... the same basic biscuit but with cheese infusing it. Then he throws on a little honey butter so you get a bit of sweetness. Once again an amazingly rich flavor. The Bacon N Cheese Biscuit This one might be my favorite. All of the above and bacon! I mean really, what else do I need to say? I will be posting about a couple of other places, but this was the highlight of the food side of our trip. We will get to Columbia once or twice a year, this will always be a stop for us.
