It was the Friday after Valentine's Day when we decided to have dinner here! We waited about 45 minutes which we figured wasn't bad especially with how many people were still waiting. The hostess sat us down and our waitress came over right away. She was very friendly from the start! The inside was loud and it was very busy! The menu is not too big and they have it to where it's easy to read. They have all the entrees under different categories depending on what it is you want to eat. We ordered: One grilled salmon on top of rice and my two sides being mashed potatoes and sweet corn One grilled chicken with Mac and cheese and cheesy broccoli casserole One spinach dip My grilled salmon was delicious. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The mashed potatoes weren't good though and they tasted too much like boxed mashed potatoes. They felt like they had been cooked with too much water. Yuck. My corn was okay nothing special. When my friend got her food we noticed that her sides were wrong. We then quickly informed our server and she kindly said she would bring out the correct ones. A few minutes later, she brought out the Mac and cheese and the broccoli casserole my friend had originally ordered and she was nice about it. The spinach dip was AMAZING. It was hot and gooey, yummy! It also came with fresh chips and salsa on the side. We were there about two hours or so and at the end our server brought us out some warm chocolate chip cookies to go. Today was my first day in a restaurant due to covid. This was not a great experience at all. First off the manager didn't respect our wanting to eat outside as we felt it was safer. She was rude and annoyed with us. In my opinion she did not respect our right to want to try to be safe while we dining as a paying customer to this restaurant. Then they advertise all these new items and free croissants. They were out of everything! New chicken sandwich, monte cristo, coconut shrimp, cheese bites, chicken pot pie, and of course the free croissants. There were a few more items that I wasn't interested in that they were also out of. They brought back the fish and chips and it was horrible! The spinach dip was all spinach and no cheese (not like it used to be). Even the chips were not the same and tasted like they came out of a stale store bought bag. I'm so glad that I live so close to Cheddar's. Their food prices are so reasonable and the value is great. I'm not talking about stellar food but if you want to down to earth, good, and comforting food, this is a place to check out. If you read their menu, they use fresh ingredients and they cook all of their food. You might be thinking, "Well, duh, all restaurants cook their food." I encourage you to read about chain restaurants and what they actually serve you. Anyways, enough ranting. I have been here several times but most recently, I got the chicken fried steak. They asked if I wanted the lunch or dinner portion. The only difference is that you get two chicken fillets in the dinner meal. The difference was $2. I ended up ordering the dinner portion so I can could have leftovers for lunch the next day. My portion was huge! For $11, I was impressed by how much food I got. I also go the honey butter croissants. This are so good and flaky! For all the times I've been here, I've never had something that I didn't like. They offer a huge selections of options too! This was the worst food dining experience I have ever had with my family. We walked in and waited over 10 minutes up front with two other parties, when the restaurant was half way empty, strike one. When we finally got called to get a table they said the name wrong and after we corrected them they continued to say the incorrect name, strike two. When we got to the table we sat there for another ten minutes without even ordering a drink or supplied with water. An hour later, after waiting for everyone's food for a party of 6, everyone but 1 person had something wrong. Person one had an undercooked steak, they took it back and recooked the same steak and burnt it when it was supposed to be medium well, on top of that he ordered a baked potato without sour cream, it was filled with sour cream. Person two had ordered a side of rice and beans and didn't bring it out until reminded about it. Person three ordered chicken tenders and seasoned rice, it came out cold as if it was out waiting for the other food and the rice was not seasoned throughly and was just white rice. Person four ordered the same thing chicken tenders and two sides and they never brought it out, they totally forgot to make her food entirely. Person five ordered a salad and didn't bring it out until the end and amazingly, while eating it there was no cheese and as she is searching for the cheese stumbles upon a dead fly in the salad! While we are informing the manager on our experience she was acting very nonchalant like it happens often, and did not even care what was going on! She leaves and comes back to try and charge us for the one persons food who came out fine but she couldnt even eat her food knowing not everyone was eating and that there was dead insects in the food!! She was disgusted and couldn't finish it. So the manager crumbles up the receipt and acts like shes doing us a favor by saying we don't have to pay for anything when theres no way we were ever going to pay after all these mistakes. Two strikes before even sitting at the table is insane and I will never recommend this poor excuse of a restaurant to anyone ever, DONT EAT HERE. read more

I always love cheddar's for good cheap eats! Today I had my first lunch special from cheddar's and it was the same great customer service and food experience. The lunch specials run for $7.49 and $9.99 depending on what you order. I got the buffalo chicken wrapper and a Caesar salad. The salad came with their tasty croissant with honey butter (my favorite!!). Typically I'll do a pain killer drink but I had to get back to work. There's a 2 drink limit for the pain killer since they are so strong but they're definitely worth it! If you're near don't hesitate to give them a try. read more

We got there and were asked how many people we said 3 and they said 5-10 min wait which was no big deal and then parties that were larger than ours came in and were seated right away . Then a manager came up to us and told us they are clearing tables and as soon as they had one ready we would be seated . Just another 5-10 min then more people came in and got seated so finally we asked what is going on and they said we don't have any tables and I said then where are you seating all these other people and they said at booths ... and I said ok why haven't we been seated at a booth and they said we thought you wanted a table .. at no time did we specify a table or booth we were just asked how many in our party . Then we got appetizers but no plates when we asked for plates they said they are being washed and will be out shortly .... Never came then the ribs we ordered were over cooked heck even the bones cracked when I tried to pull them apart we talked to the manager he seemed harassed and in a hurry . The only good part of the entire experience was our server . He was a very nice young man . Burger finally made it to the table with no cheese, lettuce and pickle. After telling the waitress my oder was incorrect, she literally looked at me with a blank stare, did not say a single word, took the plate and walked away. 10 min. Later she returned, again, did not apologize and set the plate down in front of me and walked away. I do not understand people in the service industry that have NO PERSONALITY, or could careless. THEN, I decided to pay cash, which took about 30 minutes to get me change, or MOST OF MY CHANGE, i should say. Waitress returns with my bills and asks me "did you want your 20 cents as well?" I didn't feel like waiting another 30 minutes so I told her to forget it. But this was a first for me. I should have asked her if she wanted her tip as well. Piss poor service, and there are too many good restaurants out there to waste my time with businesses that don't appreciate you. VERY DISAPPOINTED with the server in particular. I ordered curb side pickup online, and the ordering process was very convenient. Roughly $50 for a ribeye and a sirloin/chicken. I arrived two minutes early, and called the number as instructed. I was told my food would be right out. Twenty five minutes later it was finally delivered to my car. When I got home and opened the boxes I discovered an overcooked ribeye, which was now cold. I also discovered dry chicken and the smallest sirloin ever produced by man. Just awful food, which wouldn't be the end of the world if it was cheap or on time. We used to come here all the time years ago! I brought my partner tonight so he could understand the hype about it and it was awful. I'm embarrassed. The food was so bad. We got a bacon burger and ordered it medium and it came out well done. We were hungry so we didn't send it back but it was rubbery and absolutely disgusting. He only ate two bites and felt sick that we had to leave. I got the steak and shrimp. Shrimp was okay the steak was too chewy and cooked to wrong temperature. Just bad food overall and as soon as we took one bite we decided we'll never come back or recommend. Sad to see the downfall after it being so outstanding years ago. For a chain restaurant, Cheddar's is decent. We have dined in a couple of times and had good food and service on both occasions. The last time we were in, I had the salmon and my husband tried the buttermilk chicken sandwich. We both enjoyed our dinner. My kids split the grilled cheese, which was standard, but they both liked it. I think this is a great option if you have young kids. Our food came out hot and quickly. I really have no complaints. My kids like to look at the fish in the large tank that they have set up upon entering the restaurant. read more

Just an fyi it's one of the only places that doesn't accept the authorized Arizona state id for ordering drinks. I've never had an issue but today for some reason they all of sudden don't accept it. Even though every other store around accepts this. It's sad. Because yes this does affect my dinner and creates an inconvenience when going out to grab drinks with friends.
