My first time here. We had a group of 9 at lunch and they took us back to be seated, then told us we couldn't stand there at the table while they moved things around and sent us back to the lobby where they immediately sent us back to the same seating area, where we had to immediately go back to the lobby again. When I let the "older lady know that they have a seating problem and I read that their service was not good, she said with hostility "we are excellent in customer service or else thousands of people wouldn't come here. Wife and I have eaten here about 7 times and have been really pleased each and every time. I've tried something different each visit and loved them all. There is one negative, when it's busy the noise is wayyyyyy too loud! The interior is beautiful with nicely done stone and woodwork but there's nothing to soften the noise. read more

Cheddar's food is good - can't take that away from them (this was our fourth visit to this location). However, service is spotty and unpredictable. Went in for lunch today. Our waitress took our order and disappeared - returning only at the end to deliver the check. Our orders took 33 minutes before they arrived at our table (yes, I timed it). And when they did finally show up both orders were cold. Perhaps I should have sent them back but simply wasn't willing to wait more. We will not be going back. read more

Our waitress was so bad that my wife took it upon herself to kindly ask "so do you like working here?" and the waitress went into a full explanation of all the reasons she hates working there. This was are first visit and they were busy. We ordered onion rings, these were the best we have had in a while. The onions were sweet and there was no after taste. Mom had ribs they fell off the bone, the sauce on the ribs was perfect. Our waitress Sarah checked to see if I could swap my fries for something else. I was able to have a cup of soup as a side. My Cheddar's club was delicious and so big I could only eat half. We spent less than we would have at resturants at Fairfield Commoms. This was my second time going to this Cheddars. The first time,we walked in on a quiet weekday afternoon, and were told that there was a 30 minute wait for a table for 3. The parking lot was practically empty and there were alot of empty tables. We decided to leave. This time, the line was out the door and the wait was 45 minutes, but we lucked out and got a table in the bar area right away. The food was decent and the prices were really reasonable. The service was good and prompt. Overall, my experience was good but I don't see myself going out of the way to eat at Cheddars. read more

Horrible experience. Arrived 4 pm given a pager told 15 minute wait. 30 minutes later went back up and told entered our pager number as 30instead of 130. No apology, but was seated. Ordered food. Was so pumped for this place to open and I was kinda disappointed. Food is good but menu is very small. The prices are great though and that's what I like mostly. If you are having chicken the best choice is chicken Dijon with mushrooms. The carrots which I ordered as a side were delicious and sweet too. Only complaint I have is that the waiter plopped down the check in the middle of our dinner which had been served just minutes before and asked if we wanted to go boxes. The place is new and so the waitstaff probably hasn't been trained well yet. On balance, however, it was a good experience. read more

Went to Cheddars tonight for the first time. We got on the wait list and were told it would be about 30 minutes. 20 minutes later we were seated. Drinks were served, we were told about the frozen margarita which two of us ordered. Appetizer of loaded nachos came out next, DELISH! Main entrees were ribs, jalapeño burger, country fried steak and fried shrimp. All was served as ordered, hot and very tasty. The bill was under 80.00 for four, without tip. Shout out to Jessica our waitress at Cheddars yesterday. It was a fairly busy Sunday afternoon crowd. Jessica did a million things right while waiting on our table! She gave us her name, a lost art these days. She responded promptly. She kept our glasses full of drinks AND ICE (another lost art these days). Our appetizer, salad and food was timed perfectly. Our check was correct, and divided properly. She brought us togo boxes AND containers for our sauces (on the first and only request). The food was also delicious and fairly priced. Had the best burger I've ever had at a chain restaurant there today. Good, seasoned beef, fresh toppings, nice bun. Onion rings & cheese bites were fantastic. Food came out quick. However, our server seemed to be spread thin. My husband asked for a refill twice & never did receive one. Had to ask 3 times to get take out boxes. Host/hostess behaved as if they would rather have been anywhere else. Their attitudes were less than jovial. Wait staff was quite jovial, but the time it took to be addressed, and the wait time for food delivery, was inordinately long. Steak and ribs were marginal at best. Both hubby and I had the vegetable plate. we had the salad, which was very good. Loved the balsamic vinegar dressing. Also had the red beans and rice, which was very good. I can't for the life of me figure this place out. I was there Monday evening with my kids, and again today for lunch with my husband. I've got some pretty extensive restaurant experience and Cheddar's overstaffing blows my mind. Too many servers and bus people make it hard for staff and patrons to get around each other. I can't imagine their payroll! If it seemed like the huge staff impacted the speed of service, I might think it was worth it. However, both times food and service were slow. Dinner rush is one thing, but to wait nearly 20 minutes for food at lunch after delayed ordering isn't going to cut it. Staff needs to be trained on how to do things quickly and more efficiently. Lunch should not run past 30 minutes, from seating to cashed out. Today: We were greeted. We were not given menus. Server asked for drink order. Comes back with drinks, but no menus. Leaves and comes back with menus. Comes back three minutes later for orders. Anyone who has waited tables at lunch (or any time) knows to drop the menus when seating. Get drink orders, get drinks, take orders. Turn and burn it, especially at lunch. I'd go back but not until they lighten the staff and tighten ticket times. Coming back to add that apparently someone on staff at Cheddar's, or a relative, thinks it's okay to write harassing messages to those who write less than favorable reviews. Cathy M, Google "lunchtime guarantee" and look at all the restaurants that get food out in less than 20 minutes. And if you think Cheddar's is "nice," I suggest you waddle your fat behind out of the 937 area code on occasion. read more

While I usually enjoy the food it is ridiculous to wait 45 minutes for burgers and club sandwiches. Our server, Gabriella, was wonderful. Very attentive, quick refills, etc but she can't control a slow kitchen. I'm sure your wait staff gets lower tips because people blame the server when they shouldn't. We just got back from the new Cheddars in Bellbrook It wasn't very busy at around 330.took a few minutes before they took our drink order and about 10 minutes before we got them. There so many waiters..they seemed like they were tripping over each other. We were seated in the back corner by the patio door. Big mistake. Over a hundred people were in and out that door. We got chips and salsa and we were almost done and noticed something in the salsa.... It was a sticker from the tomatoes...told the waitress and she she was sorry. She said that she told the manager. The carrots that my husband got had a rotten carrot in it. We had paid and I asked to talk to a manager. She finally came over and told me how they are new and people are gonna make mistakes. I told her I understood that but finding something in your food was not appetizing at. She said since we had already paid that she couldn't fix that. She asked what she could do. My husband said a dessert to go and that is what she did...a very generous dessert. It was hard to leave because the dinner crowd was there and the tables are so close and so many wait staff..it was a nightmare to get through them.. We were there for an hour and a half because of how long it takes to get service. Was told they only had 2tables per waiter... Very slow.. Plan on waiting a long time to get your meal read more

Wow this has to be one of my best taste bud experiences I have ever encountered! Our appetizer, Wisconsin Cheese Bites were so delicious with their perfectly golden crusty nuggets and the marinara sauce provided really set things off right! I got the Grilled Lemon Pepper Chicken entrée that sits on flavorful rice with two sides of choice Broccoli and Carrots. Very delicious! The meal comes with two chicken breast every bit of 6oz each. My date got their 6oz Sirloin and stated her food was some of the best she has had in a long time and she can understand why all the buzz about the place. The inside is beautiful with all its stone and brick work, to the fish tank embedded in the wall behind the bar, to the huge ceiling fan paddles spinning. There is a really nice patio outside but the temperature on July 3rd is 63° and not conducive to outdoor seating. So what do you expect a meal would cost here? Our two meals with our appetizer and nonalcoholic beverages was $35.00! I'm sorry you just can not beat it! Needless to say, I will be returning to this establishment in the coming days or weeks! We are usually satisfied but on Sunday the 23 of July , our service was terrible. We waited over 2 hrs for our food. My husband finally got up and asked a manager, explaining situation and she said they had lost our order. The waitress just kept saying it'll be out any minute , without checking why we were waiting so long. We were given half off of our total. it should have been free. read more

If you're expecting room temperature food, this is the place to be. For us, tepid fish tacos and cold mashed potatoes just didn't live up to our expectations. First time there today I ordered a club sandwich with tortilla Soup the soup was horrible tasted like it was straight from a can looked and taste nothing like tortilla soup. The club was the worst the bread was soggy (wet) and all it had was one slice of ham and one slice of turkey nothing like a club should be. We decided to visit Cheddar's because we love the one in GA. However, after waiting for 1 1/2 hours, we have a manger calling my sister a liar and getting rude with my husband to see how much longer for a table. Mind you, they told us 1 1/2 hours TOPS. It has now been almost 2 hours for us to be seated. We only have 5 people. We have seen larger parties come and go after us. If this is the way they treat customers right after opening, I would hate to see how they become when they have been here for a while. It's the new kid on the block, so everybody is still excited to try it. The parking lot is always packed, and on a Friday lunch, still packed, but we got in with no wait. It's new, very nicely decorated, and the prices were reasonable. But my expectations were too high. Because of the inflated Yelp reviews and the crowds, I guess I expected something a bit more upscale. To me, it was nothing more than a new O' Charley's, minus the free pie. The wife had Philly Cheese Steak - a huge no-no, it was topped with melted white American cheese, not Provolone. Not sure who thinks that is okay, but it made the sandwich taste off. To top it off, the meat was salted way too much. At least the fries were good... I had the southern fried chicken - which was nothing more than a breaded cutlet. Tasted fine, but it lacked taste (they could have taken half the salt from the Cheese Steak and used it here). Mashed potatoes and country gravy and green beans tasted similar to Cracker Barrel, but at least there you know you're getting an unpretentious dining experience. Service was fine, but to me it's nothing more than another boring chain, so I don't see the need to return. And it's definitely not worth the wait if it's crowded. read more

Terrible experience complete with terrible customer service and sub par ice cold food. Placed our first order for take-out from Cheddars around 3pm on a Friday afternoon. Arrived within the 15-20 minute window. We were directed to the bar to retrieved the large order and were met by a seemingly polite and welcoming bartender. We then gave our name and states we were picking up a to go. Before I had finished my sentence, she had clearly lost interest knowing I was not there to contribute to her tip pool. She says to give her a minute as she walks 2 feet down and begins greeting new patrons. After watching this process for more than 10-15 minutes as customers continued being served drinks and placing orders, I became restless and asked in a calm and understand tone how much longer the food might be. She then hands me the bill and continues to process my credit card and return the check book. She states it shouldn't be much longer. Another 25 minutes passes and the restaurant continues filling up as the dinner rush begins. I watch as trays of food are brought to the bar in boxes, hopeful I would soon be home enjoying dinner....only that was not the case. By now it was 515 and my patience was gone along with my pleasantries. I finally got the woman's attention as she did her best to avoid eye contact with me throughout this wait, and told her I would just take a refund for the food and be on my way. She then turns to the trays full of food that had been sitting only feet from her for no less than 25 minutes and says "oh, this is yours"! I felt angry enough to explode in front of all the diners sitting who are already enjoying their desserts or awaiting checks after coming though the door a time after our arrival. I took the bags without a word and stormed though the now packed entry way to make my way to the car. Living less than 2 minutes from the restaurant was a deciding factor in placing the take out considering the food wouldn't have to travel long, I guess I never thought to factor in poor training and customer service skills. As. You may guess, once we opened the boxes and began plating the food, it was clearly past the window in which the food would have been edible. If this weren't BS enough, we realize that the spinach dip that we ordered and paid for was not within the content of the 3 bags. The total of my order we 63$, consisting of a rib and steak platter, spinach dip, sampler appetizer, kids meals, multiple additional sides, etc. the total bill at Freddy's Custard I decided to pick up after throwing every bit of the old deflated cold Cheddars haul was 24$. The burgers at Freddy's were delicious as were the fries. We will be sure to stay clear of Cheddars and organize our family outings and events at another establishment that appreciates the customers that support them. I will say, we have been for dine in on several occasions ranging from birthday and retirement parties to date night and Mother's Day with little more to complain about other than long waits, and the occasional moody or incompetent server, so it is disappointing to say that we will not return, but there is just no reason or excuse for this terrible experience. read more

Always great food and great service. Very large portions which I personally like. You will never walk away hungry. Has the atmosphere of an expensive restaurant but without the expensive menu. Have been here at least a dozen times and will be back again soon! read more
