We went for lunch on Saturday got in just before the large crowd, but if the food is good it should be crowded. Seemed to have plenty of staff, service was a little slow but attentive. They picked up dishes as they went by not just relying on the waiter for your table. Portions are large we tried the spinach dip to start it also comes with unlimited chips and salsa easily enough for 4 people. The catfish was very good and the grilled chicken pasta also. This place sucks mega dick. Server dropped all drinks to wrong people. I ordered a budweiser and got a bud light. Four people order full racks and only received half racks had to wait 20 more minutes for other half. Order grilled shrimp then got fried. Order coleslaw and when the food came out were then told that they were out. Servers don't apologize manager didn't care. Today was me and my wife's first time visiting the Cheddar's in Centerville, OH, which is just minutes away from our apartment. They said the wait time would be about 30-45 minutes but we got our table within 20 minutes. Our waitress Danielle G was excellent. Even with a packed crowd, our meals arrived quicker than we expected, which is a good thing. Our experience was memorable. Finally got date night with the hubby away from the baby and I was excited to try Cheddar's since I had heard good things about the food. We got there at 5:20 and had a thirty minute wait. Sat down at 5:57 and we waited...and waited...and waited. I asked my hubby if they even knew we were back here. Finally at 6:10 the server shows up and says her night could be better. Already not a good sign. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. My drink was the wrong drink and it took her five minutes to come back to the table before I could say it was the wrong drink. We got our salads and the croissant on them was delicious. That was sadly, the only good thing about our experience. We had to leave by 6:45 so we could go onto our next event which started at 7. It was 6:30 and our food was still not at our table yet. 6:40 and we told the server to put the food in to go boxes and to give us the check because we had to leave. She brought the manager and he said, "It takes more than five minutes to get food." Well, obviously but we'd been sitting since 5:57!!! So we left with no dinner. Sad because I wanted to try it. My first experience at Cheddars was a Thursday night. It was packed and we waited 45 mins for a table. The building is poorly designed to squelch noise as my husband and I sat next to each other at our table and had to raise our voices, lean into each other and repeat everything we said. Our waitress was nice - but fake. If you know what I mean. No problem with fake pleasantries honestly. I know everyone can have a bad day. The problem started when I got my steak. I had asked for a pink in the middle steak and got shoe leather instead. My husband ordered his well done and got well done (shoe leather). So, I sheepishly asked for it to be done right, as I didn't want to make a big deal. So she took my plate away. My husband continued to eat albeit slowly - he was finished long before my new steak arrived...when it came there was no gravy on my mashed potatos - and I can tell you - that gravy is the yum. But I wasn't about to make another fuss. I did ask for To Go boxes because my husband had finished and it was still packed and I didn't want him to have to wait in the noise for me to finish. The manager did come over and apologize and make it right on the bill - which we didn't ask for her to do. The manager may have also been having a bad night but if she was you couldn't tell. She was genuine and pleasant. My 2nd visit (I try to give everything/everyone a 2nd chance) we sat under the giant paddle fan in the center - and the noise level was much better. It was a Sat at about 1:30 after a 15 min wait and again it was packed. This time we had a waiter. He was probably late 30's or early 40's and he was genuine. He was pleasant and helpful and anticipated our dining needs (refills, etc) during our lunch. This time I tried the Cajun pasta dish - with chicken, sausage and shrimp and peppers. The dish was seriously MEH. The cajun wasn't spicy at all. The shrimp (all 4 pieces) were under seasoned and the peppers were mushy. Both times I've eaten there I've gotten the honey butter croissants (3/2,99) and while they are yummy - I like a restaurant that serves bread with your meal and not a per piece price. After the 2nd experience, I probably won't be back unless someone is dying to go. read more

Overall I would give it four out of five stars. The service was wonderful, however it was the second day so everyone was on their best behavior. The food was delicious and you definitely get plenty of it. A negative would be the music was quite loud and even after asking politely they still couldn't figure out how to turn it down. I would recommend this for a girls/guys night out or maybe a first date. This would be nice for families as well. They have large TVs that they play mostly sports on. If I could compare this to another restaurant it would be very similar to Archers Tavern or Champs. You should definitely check it out! read more

I can easily say I will not come back for the third time. Everyone gets a second chance so that's what I did. So I did that. Nothing changed from the first try. Huge cluster. Especially when the poor servers are killing themselves to make things better for their guests, some of the managers (Salina), making their lives and the customers lives a miserable experience. This also goes to the corporate. Your menu is misleading and servers and customers are going through this. Not to mention I heard servers are saying "Do we have balsamic vinaigrette dressing?" We've been here twice and we're less than impressed with their service. Our server could barely be bothered to refill drinks, and when they arrived, they had liquid rolling down the sides. Came to this restaurant yesterday evening to celebrate a friend birthday. We ask for a table. We did not get a table they put us in a booth. Which it was little hard for older adults to slide in . Our experience was so bad we walked out. We arrived at 8:20 on a Thursday - not a very busy time but we still waited a few minutes before taking a booth in the bar. It was downhill from there. Our waitress walked by quickly and asked "Cokes?" and nearly walked off before we could respond and tell her we wanted diet Cokes. She brought the drinks quickly but did not come back for our food order for several minutes. It was a simple order - a chicken strip platter and side salad. And we waited. And waited. The people at the table next to ours came after us, got their food, ate and were leaving and still no food at our table. After 40 minutes I went to the hostess stand and asked for a manager. The hostess called the manager and told me I would have to wait about five minutes. After a couple of minutes, my wife and I just left. Customer service was completely lacking. I can't imagine what was more important to the manager than a customer. My wife called the restaurant after we left and asked to speak to the manager. She was put on hold with loud hip-hop music blaring. Several minutes passed and no one answered. She hung up and called again. The phone rang twenty times (she counted) before it was answered. She again asked for the manager and was able to speak to him. She told him of our experience and he did not seem to care in the least. When she mentioned that I had waited to speak to him in the restaurant his response was "Well I have other customers". She told him I was going to write a scathing review and he said "Go ahead". We are frequent customers at this restaurant but have never been treated so poorly. We asked for the main manager's name and will call him tomorrow. He is awesome, moving around the restaurant, interacting with customers and taking care of any problems. The night manager when we were there was the exact opposite. We never saw him. It seemed like he just wanted to be anywhere else. On a final note, the floor in the bar was littered with napkins, straw wrappers, etc. I had to give one star in order to post this review. I treated my mom to lunch for her birthday to a place neither of us has ever been. I've heard nothing, but great things about this place since it has opened. So I figure, it's time to form my own "foodie opinion." I must say the restaurants decor is beautiful and very welcoming. Their food was just OKAY! Honestly, I am unsure if it was the dish or the time of day. My salmon was dry and rice was a little mushy, but the broccoli was amazing. My mom on the other hand loved her food and says, "Thank you baby that hit the spot!" Then I informed our server it was my mom's birthday and a few minutes later the manager arrived at our table with two chocolate chip cookies. Usually, the birthday party can choose a dessert from the menu. We didn't really like that! Also our server's customer service wasn't stellar like I've received at the past few restaurants I've dined in. Usually, I remember their name to add to my review. We had a group of 9 at lunch and they took us back to be seated, then told us we couldn't stand there at the table while they moved things around and sent us back to the lobby where they immediately sent us back to the same seating area, where we had to immediately go back to the lobby again.
