There were lots of mistakes made from ordering the food to leaving the restaurant, and I was so upset because of the late hour and being tired. It was 5 of us with a new server and although very sweet she was just not ready to be her own. The manager stepped in and rectified the situation. Good food at good price,the problem is getting the food. Usually way to crowded and understaffed . IV had many things in my time of going there and all pretty good tasting and what I think most is a little to much on the serving size ,always seem to come home with leftovers. On march 19, 2013 I had the fish tacos, baked..Linda had the same but fried ... they were great ... Lisa V served us and she did really good job...I left her a 25% tip because she removed our plates with out our request, made sure we were happy and wanted to make sure our meals were as expected, she smiled and seemed to truly care and took prinde in her servise to us...I will request her as our server next time..we had a all-around good meal and good experence from the monet we entered to when we left...Thanks to Chedders and there staff. read more

I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants so I didn't really have my hopes up when this place opened. However, for a chain, I will say it's pretty great. The beauty of this place is all in the details - great salad dressings, buttery croissants, smoky tender ribs (def. did not expect this here) and the New Orleans Pasta got a "wow" from me. The strawberry swirl margarita was pretty good too, but the best part? They are $3.50. Yep. That's right . $3.50. Not for happy hour, not just one day of the week. Always! We have been twice so far and always manage to get great service, even with the place being packed. I guess we're just the lucky ones. read more

I normally have an okay not great experience at this place, but tonight it was awful! I ordered onion rings as an appetizer and like two minutes later she brings out the onion rings, people they were ice cold... Like they were cooked earlier and stuck in a cooler and placed on a hot plate to heat them up... I told the waitress they were cold and she literally went in one door by the bar and comes out the other side with a whole new plate of onion rings... So lesson learned.... They are not fresh! Moving on to my hamburger... Or what is supposed to resemble a hamburger.. The meat looked like pressed meat that had been blackened and it tasted,well it did not taste... Not the best Cheddars I've been to. Some food portions came out cold and there was cabbage and a piece of broccoli in the mashed potatoes.

The service is quite slow and the portion sizes served are small compared to other restaurants. Although I liked what I ordered - it's baby back ribs with grilled shrimp. And to repeat, I was little bit disappointed with the portion size served. There were only three shrimps in my plate. And the appetizer that was ordered by the group was creamed spinach if I could still remember how they call it. Oh my, the chips that came with it?? Not enough even for two diners. They need to improve also in the speed of their service. I think they need to hire more servers and/or waiters. read more

I have been to this place many times. This location is fairly new, only about 8 months old. Every time I go it seems like they have all new waiters that have never worked in full service before. Some are nice and some just act like they don't really care. This has happend to me twice. The food is very good if you make sure the waiter understands what you want. The full bar is great! We have stopped at Cheddar's in Baytown two times since they opened!!! We often go to Louisiana and the restaurant is our stop for lunch!!! The food has always been good and and the price is great! I brought my staff for a celebration meeting, and i was very disappointed. the service was slow it took literally 30 mins before we got drinks. the waitress did bring us the rights things and the manager tried to be funny about the mistakes, overall i will never go back to that cheddars read more

Went to Cheddar's on a Sat afternoon, with a party of 5 adults. Had to sit at a booth for 4 with an extra chair. Asked for bigger booth that WAS available. We were told that section had no server. Nice staff and great service - downhill from there. The sirloin steak was not sirloin. Very dry. Overcooked and thickly coated with meat tenderizers. The salt taste was overpowering. Frozen Asian shrimp defrosted, coated in Season All and grilled. What an insult to the Gulf Coast. Uncle Bens minute rice. The spinach dip was so full of cheese it hardened into a hockey puck. The food is decent to good. I love the Chicken Ceasar Pasta Salad. It's also good for a cheap date. The drinks are priced amazingly low. Top shelf margaritas for around $6.50. It's hit or miss about the servers though. Several times I've seen the servers sitting at another table while I was trying to get a drink. Service was slow. Last time we went they droppe my gf's food right as they got to the table. Remade it, incorrectly the second time. We tried to let the server know so she could get it fixed, but she took so long (15 minutes) to come back to the table that my gf ate it. read more

In previous years I would have rated it much better than just a 2/5. But the food quality and service as really went down hill since we last visited a year ago. We were a having a family dinner out a first in a while so we thought we would revisit an old favorite. Sadly we were extremely disappointed. It took 20mins at least for our food to come out which was expected but it was ice cold and had to be sent back, which is a first for me. I've never had to send anything back. The manager was walking around and noticed something wrong and approached our table and we told her our waitress brought us cold food. She then told our waitress to have it remade and she came back with it a minute later after reheating it in the microwave. She had a crappy attitude and asked if it was hot enough as she rudely put it in front of us. It was hot but soggy after being nuked in the microwave but didn't want to argue with her. Also we notice that most of the service staff was just standing around hanging out by the bathrooms just gossiping and a few were in the bathrooms just hanging out. Though I do like the food, the customer service and professionalism is the worst. I made a simple request for a big enough table for 5 including 2 high chairs (twins) and offered to wait if it wasn't available and you would've thought they were trying to plan a space mission. After a while of them trying to figure it out I told the hostess we were leaving and as we turned around the hostess rolled her eyes, said "bye" and gave me a hand gesture. Just so happens my wife happened to look back and saw it. I then went back to the girl and asked her to show me what she did behind my back and sent the girl to get her manager. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I decided to take my family out to eat here Sunday afternoon. Got seated waited there about 30 minutes and we had yet to get attended. When there was clearly about 3 waiters in my section and the waiters saw that no one was attending us. They just kept on staring at us like if we where lost. Had to notify the hostess because the waiters in our section where dodging us like bullets, I couldn't even get none of they're attention RIDICULOUS!!!! Even notifying the hostess, STILL no waiter came to attend us. Like HONESTLY everyone coming in before us was getting served and attended. Made me and my family feel like we where a problem. I've never had an experience like this because me and my family are very patient and always leaving good tips so I don't see what was the problem. This Cheddar's is honestly the worst I've been to and need to work on training some of their waiters/waitresses to be better at not ignoring customers. read more

Have never been to a cheddars before and have been told that I needed to order the onion rings. Holy crap! The portion size was ridiculous for the price but I'm not complaining. My husband and I each got lunch combos, great value as well. The monte cristo and tortilla soup for me was delicious! I was impressed with the cleanliness and atmosphere as well. Ate here today 5/29/15. Food was good, waitstaff was terrible. There was waiters and waitresses standing around everywhere we looked yet none were attending to our needs. Our tea was not refilled until we flagged our waitress down. When we were through, we asked for a small to go container. She brought it to us(which to me is a signal that we are finished with our meal), then she did not return for at least 20 minutes. We kept looking for her but she was no where to be found. After a recent visit to this Cheddars unfortunately I've decided it will be my last. As my favorite place to sit is at the bar at any restaurant (quicker service), I observed several things. All of which were health violations in my opinion, not to mention it's the worst flu season since 2008. A bar back brought a big bucket of ice and sat it on the dirty floor. The bartender picked it up and while holding the bottom of the bucket emptied it in the ice cooler. Did I mention she went on to make drinks without washing her hands? Ordered Dos Equis dressed and the bartender sprinkled the salt on the bottle with her HANDS! Did I mention she didn't was her hands? As customers cashed out, money/credit card transactions would steadily take place, money is dirty to say the least. Did I mention she went on to make drinks........The bartenders were so busy making back to back drinks for the restaurant they could barely devote any time to the bar patrons. So much for quicker service! Anyway order nachos with no sour cream. Got nachos with sour cream. The bar area seemed dirty and unorganized. Needless to say after my first drink I ordered water, went home and washed my hands!! read more
