Two Words: FAST SERVICE We have been to several Cheddars in the Sugarland/Houston/Waco area and we have never had top notch service like this Cheddars. Our waiter was very polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. If we are ever back in the Baytown area, we will definitely need to stop again!. ;-) -A.L read more

Severely understaffed. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the food is still good. You just have to wait a tremendous amount of time to get it. No manager in sight even though we requested to speak to one. I suggest you go to the Pasadena location. The manager there is on top of things. read more

Horrible. Long wait, even under these circumstances (latino mothers day) the croutons on my salad were stale and my salmon came with almost no rice and my broccoli tasted disgusting like it was thawed out seconds before it was served to me. Also, they broke plates every 5 minutes. read more

My husband and I often chose Cheddar's because of its good quality food at an affordable price. There is a wide selection of menu items to chose from. Our food was very good yesterday, and our waiter was kind. However, we found a meal prep sticker in one of our meals and plastic in one of our to-go drinks. I called and spoke with the manager this morning, and he was understanding and listened to my concerns. He made the situation right, and I appreciate that. Thank you Mr. Mark! I grew up in the restaurant business, and one observation of this location is that the environment feels very "slow". Although the staff is kind and well meaning, they need some motivation to increase their energy level. Although Cheddar's is a budget friendly restaurant, customers would like to see a motivated staff and an upbeat environment. I'm not sure if the Baytown store is considered high performing in terms of prophet, but it has the potential to do so. read more

Ok so my mom loves Cheddar's so we finally came here well our waitress was Brianna so we sat down and made our food and drink order at the same time well the bartender was just standing there talking to some other women well our food came out first and she said well I don't control over the drinks and left after it all the manager handled it but if you come here make sure you don't get Brianna Oh and people came in after at soon as they sat down they got there drinks and food right away so be careful when you come here read more

Wasn't sure what to expect but was very happy! All homemade and the croissants were delicious!

The food was wonderful and plenty of it. Decent price. Waiter was great. We were in and out in no time.

My sister is handicapped walking with a broken foot and we had to wait about 30 minutes and the host literally sat us all the way to the back. I honestly think that is so rude. Never coming back here again. read more

So my partner and I were sat and waited about 10 minutes before deciding to leave. We weren't greeted by the server in the section we were sat in and the other servers walked by and did not check on us. We love the food and drinks but the service definitely needs some work read more

Went there last night for Fathers Day, ordered Ribeye steaks, beatiful cut of meat, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Steaks were tender, juicy and so flavorful, been a long time since ive had a steak that tasted so great that i did not have to use A1 on it. The young lady who waited on us was so pleasant, great smile and personality, and timed everything perfectly. This was our firsf visit to this location and it will be the only Cheddars we go to from now on.. read more

My daughter used my phone to place an online order which took forever. And to top it off they ran my card for $10 extra so someone gave themselves a tip and i called to speak with the manager and was told he was handling something at the time and would call me back which he never did. Bad customer service. I will not be returning there. read more

Good food and LOVED the Painkiller! It's so nice to be out especially during these difficult months.

Baytown is really quick to embrace new restaurants. The parking lot has been packed since this place opened. Really cool decor. Friendly, eager staff. Comfort food with an edge... ...but the music was so loud I couldn't hear the kids on the other side of the booth. Easy fix! read more

Attended Cheddars this afternoon to enjoy dinner with my family. The service was excellent. Gina is an exceptional server. She went beyond her job duties and I was very satisfied. The manager, Mr. Evans was very courteous. He assured that our experience was outstanding. Not to mention, the food was so delicious! I will definitely be returning soon. read more

I was really excited to eat here as I was visiting Texas from California and was highly disappointed with the service. Our waiter Carolina never asked us for refills and barely came to our table. We then waited over an hour for food where everyone in the tables around us had ate and left by then. They gave us incorrect orders and one of our people didn't even eat since his ribs to over an hour and a half to get that we just took it to go. Not coming back. read more

Went with my boyfriend and there croissant's are amazing ! Very soft and flaky! The broccoli cheese casserole is very rich and the prices are affordable! They have a variety of food selections read more

The serving staff was good and very attentive. On January 6, 2019 at dinner they did not have any chips for Chips and Queso appetizers and Nachos. Also no carrots. Food portions were very small and about half the size at other restaurants. Mango Tea was tooooooo sweet and almost like syrup in thickness. I probably could make two glass just from that one glass of mango tea. They replaced the tea and it was better the second and third time. My entree was the steak and it was over-seasoned and salty. At 6 ounces the steak was not a big issue. My sides were Broccoli cheese casserole and buttered off the cob corn. The casserole was a bit runny and the corn tasted like it was cooked in a sweetener to make the corn sweeter. The serving portion size for each would have been about half the size of an ice cream scoop or maybe 2-3 teaspoons. Dessert was the monster cookie that looked nothing like the picture and was plated horribly. Although it did not look good the cookie was good but a bit on the extra sweet size. The ice cream cherry and whip cream has slid off the top of the cookie and that's why it did not look that good. I wondered how their prices where less than other restaurants such as Chili's. The portion are much smaller than than I have experienced at any restaurant and about the size a kid would eat. The honey croissants were excellent appetizers. read more

I ate here today with my daughter and it took forever for the lady to take our order and for us to get our food and they where not even busy!! I was ready to just walk out and go some where else but my daughter wanted to stay!! Almost every time the service is slow!! They need to pick up the pace!! I have had 2 good waitress there over the years it seems to just be getting slower and slower!! In the past I have even received my food cold!! They need better management I think!! read more

Mr Austin took great care of us today. This man offers excellent service all around. Food was also great. I had a chicken tender plate with spinach dip and a pain killer drink. All were great! Will be coming back. read more

Very cool atmosphere at this Cheddars. They only complaint I have is the carpets smell a little dirty. Other than the dirty smelling carpet everything else was great. Try the cheese dip and I think you will agree it taste homemade. read more

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - This is a cool fan at Cheddars - Comfort Food Near Me - Baytown, Texas

See all

The food is typical Cheddar's but come at your own risk... The tile floor is ridiculously slippery and not appropriate for a restaurant. Everything time I come is a skating rink... I saw a lady almost break her ankle when he does twisted and she fell on her butt and didn't hurt herself is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

A group of us decided that this is no longer a choice for lunch anymore because of how extremely slow the service is. The last time I was there, we didn't get one drink refill, and had to ask another waiter about our food. When asked he told us "oh yeah, I saw that sitting back there" and by the time our food got to us it was cold. This is pretty much the service I have come to expect every time that I go. The food would have been great if it had been hot, but if you come here, plan on staying for a while. read more

Pretty typical restaurant. I had the jalapeño burger and for the most part it tasted good. The jalapeño were fried which was disappointing. Also, I did make the assumption that when I ordered the burger it came with fries. However, all I got was a burger in a plate. When I asked about the fries I was told it didn't come with sides. My waiter had the personality of a stone and never asked if I wanted sides or even made me aware I needed to ask. My wife ordered the grilled Baja chicken. She received a shallow bowl of black beans and rice with a few small pieces of chicken. The star of this dish was the enormous amount of beans and rice. The chicken was like an after thought. We debated going to Cracker Barrel and now I wish we would have. We really figured Cheddars would be a step up. We were wrong. read more

Inadequate service followed with inaccurate food as basic as how well our steaks were cooked to our drinks and dessert. Not coming back.

It's not a place that I would say hey want to go eat at Cheddar's. Was not impressed with the food at all. The salad was over running with dressing the chicken fried steak was a joke. The tables were a mess and nasty. Food all stuck by the table just pretty much poor cleanliness and lack of care for a restaurant. The attention to the dump needs to be evaluated by upper management are the owner who has personal interest. read more

Quick and friendly service! I've been here only on the weekend but they have crowd moving fast so the wait is minimal.

Amazing food for an unbelievable price. Plus most of the entrees can be shared cause the portion sizes are huge. Great place for a casual dine out. read more

First time coming here. They got our drink order and didn't come back for a longg time.Food also took forever.Waitress never came by to see if we needed refills.Got the check and THEN she asked if I wanted a refill once we were about to leave.Foodwise mine, baby back ribs, wasn't bad - comparable to chillis/Applebees basically. My gf's food was pretty cold.On a brighter note the croissants were really good.Overall I won't go back to the Baytown location but maybe others won't be this bad. read more

At first I thought the food was going to suck because of the low prices, but I was wrong. The steaks come out juicy and full of flavor every time. The servers are on point. And I don't walk out with an empty wallet. I highly recommend this place. read more

My coworkers and I order from here often, but as of late we have not been enjoying their food. Our to-go order today consisted of: the wrong dressing on a salad, broccoli that was yellow and seemed old, no plastic-wear, and a wrap that was hard. We decided we won't order here for awhile. And to top it off, when a salad was ordered with no chicken on it (because of diet restrictions), they refused to even take $1 off...not happy. read more

This is a very reasonably priced place to enjoy gourmet cooking! Excellent service , great quality. Never a bad meal.

I stopped in here for an early lunch with a friend on Galentine's day which fell on a Wednesday. We were seated right away and our entrees came super fast. I ordered the lunch combo of half a Monte Cristo and half a Cheddar's Club sandwich with the Chocolate Raspberry Mini Cake for dessert. The Monte Cristo was the most delicious one I've had even without the tasty raspberry sauce, but with the sauce it was a whole other level of deliciousness. It was soo good it really shined a light on the lack in the Club sandwich. First of all, the white sandwich bread was hard practically crunchy toast and wasn't worth the bread calories so I took it off and ate it without. A sandwich like that Club really needs a great bread or it's just not worth ordering so I won't get that again. The whole time I was eating it, I was just wishing it was more Monte Cristo. The mini cake was tasty and the whipped cream on top was really good, but I could tell it was a pre-made cake that had been reheated in the microwave. I would definitely eat here again, but would order differently. read more

Last there the place smell like piss our waitress went by us started talking to her friends our food was cold and old my wife cut her lip open on fork that shouldn't been in use if you like a bad place to eat come here read more

Overall, a very bad dinning experice, food was poorly cooked and presented, the service was nonexistant. Ewe, Ewe, Ewe!

This is one of my parent's go-to restaurants, and they always want to go here when I visit. Tonight was crowded, but we were able to get right in to a seat. The drinks were good, and the pricing on the margaritas was reasonable. I got the lemon-pepper whitefish with a baked potato and a house salad. The house salad weirdly came with eggs on it, which I was neither expecting nor interested in. The eggs were all cut up and all through the salad, making them hard to pick out. If I had known, I certainly would have had them leave the eggs off. The rest of the salad was fine - lettuce, cheese, and two halves of a grape-sized tomato. Certainly nothing exciting. The lemon-pepper whitefish was cooked well, but it was basically seasoned with salt, salt, and then some more salt. This is why my family stopped going to Chili's, as everything there is massively over-salted, and Cheddar's is as well, at least with this particular dish. The baked potato was the best part of the whole meal, but it's really hard to mess up a baked potato with butter and cheese on it, which is what I ordered. The service was good, even for being crowded and quite noisy. I would not recommend this place for the food. read more

Good food at good price, the problem is getting the food. Usually way to crowded and understaffed . IV had many things in my time of going there and all pretty good tasting and what I think most is a little to much on the serving size ,always seem to come home with leftovers. My girl and I get the chicken tender basket ( sometimes covered in sauce) and split it and it is still to much food. read more

I want to give a huge shout out to Mr. Foster and staff at Cheddars restaurant in Baytown Texas. Saturday, I lost a $400 gift card. I took a chance and I asked the bartender if anyone had turned one in. She told me, usually they assume that if they are left that they must be empty and they usually throw them away. I told her that it had $400 on it and she promptly got the manager. This girl went as far as to dig in the bathroom trashcan for me since that is where I assumed I lost it. The manager took my phone number and my name and told me he would call me if someone turned it in. He called me yesterday and told me that he was about to make my day much better. Indeed he did!!! Thank you to whoever turned the card in and a big big thank you again Mr. Foster! Good people still exist, I am one of them, and karma does come back around. read more
