Worst service ever!!!! To start off our server took forever to get our drink order. I got up to go outside to make a phone call and the server follows me to take my drink order by the hall! It seems that every time I visit this location, alone or with friends, the service is a bit off, the table always needs additional cleaning, and nothing seems to be very "solid." The tables, the bar, and the menu are always sticky--really. The food is somewhat usual Cheddar, but it just seems a bit off or lacking in some areas. The young staff might need to experience some great customer service as opposed to awful, which may change their own work habits. The drinks are also just ok. The actual alcohol content is quite lacking. And the drinks aren't at all cocktailish... However, as many know, the croissants are killer. They are not as full cooked (just lightly browned) as much as I would like, but that honey butter is absolutely addictive. Was in Baytown for a business meeting so decided to stop by for lunch. Service was awful. Was offered to sit in the bar to which we didn't mind. After being greeted with "What can i get you to drink?" I knew it was gonna be downhill from there. Got our order taken & shortly after my friend's Chicken Caesar salad came out before our appetizer even got to the table. Had to ask other servers for things we would need as our server never seemed to be around. Also food quality was not up to standards as the Pasadena & Webster location are. This has always been my enjoyable go to but last night we went and it was an absolutely 100% disgusting restaurant! The place is filthy, the bar had fruit leftovers all over, our drinks had black floaters, the kiosk was filthy to the point of not wanting to touch it, the door way was blocked off to keep one of the employees children confined in the back, our potato was cold cheese and butter thrown into a hot potato thus resulting in a cold potato, the bathrooms were filthy.. we could only imagine the kitchen! Not overwhelmed, came in for lunch. 11am, one of the first through the door. Hostess sat me quickly but was severely lacking in personality. The waiter who took our order (at the bar) clearly wasn't listening - I had to repeat it twice, and what was brought out bore no resemblance to what I ordered. When I drew his attention to this, and suggested that maybe if he wrote customers orders down, he might get them right. This was my first visit to a Cheddars restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised. The hostess let us know we had a 15 minute wait to be seated, but we were able to be seated at a table in only about five minutes. Our server, Laura, was absolutely superb. She was engaging, friendly, personable, efficient, knowledgeable about the menu, and very timely. The menu has quite a few choices with something for everyone and every age. The prices are also moderate, with many entrées below $10. I ordered the New Orleans pasta and my wife chose the fried shrimp. We both love the food and found it quite delicious, with generous portions, and beautifully presented. There was ample parking and easy access off the interstate I 10. The only reasons to not give them five stars was for the following: The restaurant is very noisy (both music and crowd noise), at least on a Sunday evening, and made it difficult to have a conversation. Harsh uneven lighting; One side of the table was dark, the other two bright with harsh halogen bulbs shining right over us. This place though was just plain disrespectful from start to finish and the poor waiter was struggling. The girls that set us didn't even ensure the table was clean she was to busy holding a conversation about a couple she previously set down. So we were placed at a dirty table and the poor bus boy really didn't clean it after we set. We should of left but decided we would eat. To make a long story short the drinks were late since we sent them back to remake them. The syrupy and carbonation was not balanced. Ok soooo I hate to post this because I like cheddars but the day I went which was on July 14 2020 it was bad.. so we decide to go to bar side my god there were like 4 tables that were not even clean up that did something to me while I was eating it was disgusting I should have left. My date night with my husband was ruined... we waited over an hour for our food. We told the waitress we wanted to pay for our drinks and leave and she said the kitchen was backed up. Every single time I'd try to call in an order, I would be put on hold indefinitely - I had to call back and make them realize, I was still holding!! I begin holding until I would arrive still on the phone and would ask to speak to a manager. I love cheddars but at this location I had a few issues. Arrived was sat really quick but the seat was next to the kitchen .When asked to be moved hostess stated she could not. Waitress was ok but seemed somewhat new . Order an appetizer and it was at room temp(queso). Then food order was placed and the wait time was extended then when food did arrive it was cold. Honestly felt like the server forgot. Manager was summoned and he came quickly. The manager name was DeAndre and he was very polite and rectified the situation quick. The wife and I have eaten at this location since it opened for business and have had both good and bad experiences. The food for the most part is good comfort food. I usually get the Blackend Catfish with vegetables. My wife usually gets some Chicken dish (not sure which one) and is happy with it. We also usually get an artichoke cheese dip and is served very hot with chips. Service has been good for most of our visits with only one or two not so great visits. On one visit (about a year ago) I decided I wanted a frozen Margarita with salt. When my drink arrived it looked like snow cone ice in a highball glass! I looked at my wife and we both said "that don't have any alcohol in it!" So we sent it back and a little while later another snow cone Margarita showed up. So I said well guess that's what they look like - and sipped it and as expected there was no alcohol in it. See folks alcoholic drinks don't freeze they stay somewhat slush like with some parts freezing and the alcohol stays unfrozen. A short time goes by and bartend comes by and brings me an alcoholic Margarita - And it was as I would expect in a Margarita. At least they kept trying until they made me happy! So we will be back and hopefully they will get the alcohol / Margarita mix right. read more
