I would give Cheddars of Hudson Oaks a zero on customer service. I have worked in restaurants in the past for years. Our party of 5 went in an hour before closing and there were a handful of tables with customers eating. The hostess told us she would get a table clean for us & it should be 5-10 minutes. She disappeared in the kitchen and did not return for nearly 20 minutes. After finally being seated, 10 minutes went by and no one came to our table. We got up and left. The same hostess, in a cocky manner, tells us "Thanks for coming in.". We were shocked. I called the restaurant that evening requesting to speak to a manager. The person that answered the phone asked who was calling when I requested a manager, and I simply stated "a customer." After 6 minutes of waiting, someone answered the phone. I asked if she was an assistant manager or general manager. She said, "a manager." I asked again at least 2 more times and she refused to answer and was unprofessional. That made me suspicious. I hung up. I sent a message through their website detailing the evening. Hopefully no one else experiences such poor customer service. read more

Their were 3 at the time and they'd stand in a group whispering and constantly lookin back at our table while we ate. The takeout option at Cheddar's is batting a thousand. While we have enjoyed meals with good service inside, there must be some code we haven't cracked for getting a meal from takeout to our home without significant issues. Once, they forgot the pasta in the pasta salad. Another time, none of the chicken strips were tender, all were chewy and tasteless. Last nite, despite our record of bad calls, we tried again. Grilled chicken caesar pasta salad. One. The takeout was on time. I counted the boxes before I left to be sure all were there. Check! I got home and started assembling the salad. Pretty easy, because there wasn't any chicken to cut and lay on the top of the bowls. Yep, they forgot the chicken. BUT the extra box? It contained four more rolls, to add to the other two they included in a separate box. Well...sadly I was trying to order spinach dip through the website but it stated unavailable so I tried calling and got someone to answer to ask if they have spinach dip available and they stated yes. So I asked if I can place an order for some spinach dip. They put me on hold...for a good 20 minutes +. So I thought It would be better to go in person, I was wrong. The hostess told us it was curbside only and not wanting to take my order. That I had to call or use the online services. Wellllll... I told them the online services was down and I've been on the phone for a good minute, if she could just help me out and place my order for an order of spinach dip Sadly the young lady was unpleasantly No help. Normally I would recommend this restaurant, however my past experience this week was not a good one. I found hair in my food from my take out order. I called to let them know and Anthony the manager on duty offered to remake my food. I ordered dinner and wasn't able to eat due to this mishap. I couldn't return back due to time constraints and called to get my refund back. I am still waiting on the refund. I will not return back. A lot has changed at Cheddars. What was once my favorite restaurant is now a restaurant I seldom visit only because my mother still enjoys it. Decided to give it another try! The chips and queso are still the same and I still enjoy them. The lemon pepper chicken was also good, a little under cooked. The real tragedy is the recipe change in the broccoli cheese casserole. What was once a thick and cheesy side dish with breaded crust throughout, has now been reduced to a sad attempt to stretch out the supply. The cheese, which was once a nice orangey yellow, is now a thin and runny whiteish yellow, the broccoli overcooked. The rice that comes with the dish was also overcooked and had absolutely no flavor. I'm sorry Cheddar's. I tried. At least our waiter was amazing, even if he seemed overworked. read more

The food is usually good but today I think the quality control checking food failed. The salmon i ordered for myself was so small i thought it was child portion. Not what I am used to getting and when I went to give my kid the child portion they ordered some of the fries were black. On positive side the staff is typically friendly and if I was eating in I am sure they would have made it right. But it is aggravating to get home and find a couple bad items. Horrible svc! Couldn't remember why I stopped coming here and then I stopped by and remembered. Sat for 15 mins and no one even acknowledged I was there, no cup of water or even a hi. I've been to other cheddars and this has never been a issue. We did let the manager know, hopefully in the future it helps other fellow patrons. Our visit this last weekend probably did it for us with Cheddars. We called from the parking lot to see how long the wait would be. The host told us "we don't give out times because they can change." We explained we were in the parking lot and we just wanted to avoid the walking back and forth. They basically told us to kick rocks and that they don't give times out. We walked in and got our name on the list and even then the host refused to give us a roundabout time. He just said worst case it would be an hour. We decided to chance it because they didn't seem that busy and luckily it was only 25 minutes or so. I need to say the food was great even though they have raised their prices quite a bit. On top of our initial experience what ruined it for us was how terrible the staff represents this place. The people walking around were too busy playing around and weren't friendly when they walked by. A server in a section next to us got upset and we could hear her complaining about being "sat" in front of the family that she was about to wait on. The floor was filthy and you could tell the staff had no care about the experience they were providing the customers. Luckily our server was good but everyone else we interacted with should not be working in a restaurant. Long story short I wish we just would have went down the road. This review was long and very disappointing to write because Cheddars was my first job and I have a ton of great memories working there. His staff provided a Cheddar's gift card to cover the meal. He also told me that he would personally visit the restaurant and fix the problem. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This Cheddars was plain awful. We walked in at 6:30 pm to 2 Hosts popping gum and looking very unfriendly...had to say Hello first. Sat in the bar area...there were tons of tables available but all were dirty and had not been cleaned off. The place as a whole was very dirty and smelled horrible. We assumed that they were short staffed due to recent Covid backlash, however we noticed that 4 staff members who were wearing Cheddar's shirts were at the bar, with the bartender enjoying some adult beverages.....this must have been why we waited for over 20 minutes to never have been greeted or served before we decided to walk out. I love cheddars and especially this location. Don't expect to get seated right away on Friday and Saturday nights after 8 and on Sunday after church time! It's madness! But that's because the food is reasonably priced and the portions are huge. The food is always fresh and literally almost everything tastes good! The margaritas range anywhere from $4-$8! I never write bad reviews but I want to know if I'm the only person who feels the way I do. I always order takeout food from Cheddars, which should be easy, right? No. Whenever I call Cheddars, I literally sit on the phone for at least 5 minutes before someone answers, which I've learned is the bartender. When he does decide to answer, he mumbles "Cheddars hold on" and puts me on hold for another 5 minutes. Very unprofessional. So I get to the bar and witness him do this to all of the to-go calls. I would understand if he was busy...but he isn't. He will be standing there while the phone is ringing off the hook. To the point people sitting at the bar are annoyed and wondering why he isn't answering the phone. It's ridiculous! My advice to Cheddars management- Hire a permanent to-go person. The bartenders act like it's such an inconvenience (even though I tip them at least $5-$8 on a $25 bill) to do something so simple. It's easier than a walk-in customer! This Cheddar location on south Little Rd in Arlington is the worst of the worst. For 30 yrs we have tried off and on to eat there due to, we like Cheddars and this location is very close to us. I posted on social media others opinion and if they eat there now, due to maybe it has gotten better? I received 36 post regarding opinions. Thirty-four said it was disgusting, dirty, bad food and service was so bad, no drink refills and the management had to go! This is what we said over 10 yrs ago. The health department of Arlington must come check this location out. Food was cold and undercooked. ( one lady said she was served undercooked fish and totally cold baked potato) No service at table once they were actually seated at a table, after more than 30 mins and NOT DUE to busy restaurant with customers, but due to no waitresses to seat. Long wait to get order taken and long wait to receive food and then waiting forever for ticket to pay and run out of that place, never to return. It has crossed our minds that maybe that Cheddars location on Little Rd in Arlington was using the place for something else, under pretense of restaurant, since food and service and being cleaned has not been the case in over 10 yrs and maybe longer. Ok. My 5 star rating is for their cheap flavorful food, service and multiple locations. This is a place that isn't afraid to give you large portions. Cheapest drinks in a restaurant I've found and the best croissants I've ever tasted. There's usually a wait if you come after 6 and all day on weekends. Today, I ordered the sirloin steak and chicken tenders. The steak (as always) was succulent and tender with more than enough tenders to bring home for a midnight snack. I would recommend this place to watch the game, date night or family night. Large parties aren't really a good fit for their set up. Over the past years, I have noticed a 50 cent price increase on the food items, but I think I'll manage. Keep up the great work! ! read more

This is by far my favorite location to come eat at. I am a fan of Cheddars, but as I mentioned in a previous teview, the service can be hit or miss. This location normally does a good job and last night was no exception. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our waitress, who let us know it was her first day, was very pleasant and professional. She rolled with our many questions, and more impressively got our order right! As always, the food came out quickly, was hot and filling.
