I ordered a mix and match combo, double spicy chicken sandwich with cheese and double cheeseburger with large fries. The sandwich and burger were a 4 out of 5, the fries were a 5. Way better than McDonald's fries. I'm satisfied

THE ABSOLUTE SLOWEST PLACE IVE EVER BEEN.........!!!!! They are consistently slow, I've never ordered and gotten my food in less than 20mins Currently waiting in line now

    Garlic Parm loaded fries

I used to always love checkers fries way better than McDonald's, but the checkers on New York Ave in DC is the worse of the worse. The fries taste like they been fried in old stale reused greased. Today 12/22/22 I ordered a 3 piece chicken tenders and the garlic Parm loaded fries..... I am beyond done with checkers now I was giving them a chance after all these years because I thought oh they have some new employees....but not the service is still the slowest ever and poor customer service and my food looks and taste like trash.

a variety of credit cards and other items laid out on a blanket

I order 3 chili dogs..its already hard to eat chili dogs while driving..but when all three had broken buns so the hot dogs fall out the bottom...I thought I was on candid camera..but whoever made them they knew they were making Some BS chilidogs .so just like the movie Lethal Weapon.."they f*** you in the drive thru, they f*** you in the drive..so I ate half of one...it was too much of a mess to continue...so it is what it is

The food is really disappointing. I got the checkerburger with cheese and it was small with such a thin piece of meat and literally 10 shreds of lettuce (yes you can count how many). This is at the same price as MickyD, but worst in terms of appearance and taste. My boyfriend got 2 mushroomswiss burger deal and that was also small and unflavorful, when Mushroom Swiss burgers usually has blooming flavors of taste.

Worst Checkers Ever! Was stuck in traffic traveling downsouth when my wanted to stop here. No Hi! Welcome to Checkers...nothing, just how can I help you, we ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and received an uneventful, lazy and very uninspired sandwich. Gave us the food and just closed the window wtf. I included those uneventful, lazy and uninspired spicy chicken sandwiches in the photos. I know they make the most of their money during after club hours however, what about the folks who come during normal day hours smh. If I could give it zero stars and rate I would. Worst Checkers Ever......writing this from the toilet unfortunately

Expect long lines at 2am in the drive thru but worth it!!

Its 2 am early Friday morning, and I was hangry!!!! Before heading on 50E, this was a must. I wanted a greasy burger. Lines were long. I was in the drive thru for 20 minutes. I got 2/$5 mushroom swiss burger. That was good enough for me. If I got fries or a shake, I would regret it later. My burger was good. A little small but with lots of flavor. Service was good. Wait time was long but worth it as everyone there was playing gogo and good vibes all around. Friends got milkshakes, fries and a fish burger. No compliants. Food was fresh for everyone in my car. This will be my after club spot if Im in NE.

I got wings with a side of cabbage and plantains. I had them throw in a beef patty to top my meal off. It took them about 10 to 15 to prepare my food. The food was really good. The cabbage was not your typical American cabbage, but it was still decent. The wings were very flavorful and tasted really good. The plantains were amazing. They were very sweet and had a little crunch on the edges. The beef patty was pretty good too. My meal did not disappoint. There is free street parking available in front of the restaurant and within a reasonable walking distance. The restaurant has a food truck parked out front that they use for catering gigs. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my meal here and highly recommend checking them out.

It's ALWAYS people begging while pulling up I the drive through or once you're picking your food up at the window. Today, I specifically asked for 3 chicken nugget happy meals with extra fries in one and apple slices in the other, along with 3 #1 (Big Mac Meals). I had to ask for straws but once we arrived at our destination there was NO extra fries, they just put apple slices in ALL 3 happy meals and on top of that the apple slices were OLD. It seems they just given rotten apples and fruit to the kids. What made this worse and why I finally did a review was, they put tartar sauce on ALL of the big macs instead of big mac sauce. I'm too far and too annoyed to turn around. I just put some sweet and sour sauce on the big Mac to offset the taste. I've tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt but it seems they are becoming more careless. I would not recommend this location unless you're starving. Otherwise drive out of the city to another location. This poor service, poor food and lack of attention to details is NOT worth it. I know Ronald McDonald is turning over in his grave.

The chicken fingers were barely the size of sardines and the fries barely matched the size of a kids McDonald's happy meal French fry (approximately 15 non-crinkle cut fries.) The drinks delivered were normal medium size drinks at any other chain... passed off as large drinks. The Cane's sauce tasted very diluted or watered-down. This was NOT a visit that would make us want to return to this location nor to the chain in another location. Absolutely NOT a $27 meal but most definitely an unexceptional experience.

I had heard about this food truck recently, so the hubs and I decided to stalk them and try them out for a weekday lunch. We were a little nervous, as I noticed that they can sometimes close during rainy weather, but luckily, they pushed through the rain, which eventually tapered off! We ordered the Pork and Cabbage Dumplings (pan-fried and steamed; these had a more cilantro-like flavor to the filling) and the Crunchy Vegetarian (pan-fried; these were more flat and elongated; I actually really enjoyed these, as they were great with the Ginger Soy Vinaigrette; I first thought that there was some meat inside, but I'm thinking it's either tofu or soy protein?). It was interesting that the Pork and Cabbage had more of a stronger herb-y taste rather than the Crunchy Vegetarian. The Asian Noodle Salad didn't look like the picture on their menu; however, it was still simple and fresh, made with rice noodles, sliced carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, and crushed peanuts; much better dressed with the peanut sesame sauce! The Veggie Fried Rice was tasty, especially adding the Ginger Soy Vinaigrette to it! I also tried their Lemon Ginger Tea, which I appreciated it not being too sweet. Sadly, it closed. Last night, I think I stumbled across a taco spot to finally take the wheel from our dearly missed El Chilango. Taqueria Al Lado is very no frills and a tiny spot, but it has tacos that make your heart sing. My friend recommended the Al Pastor so I got that with a chicken taco as well. Both were super flavorful, fatty, but really fresh and well balanced. The key here is simplicity and they do it perfectly. Each taco was about $4 or $5 if I remember correctly, so it's a great spot to grab food if you're trying to ball on a budget. We got the guac, too, which was good but not life changing; the fresh chips, however, were spot on. As far as service goes, we went on a Friday and it was super busy, but there were plenty of servers if we needed something (just had to be vocal). I will definitely be coming back!

On our way to another location on H Street last Friday, one of my colleagues pointed to H & Chicken (H&C) and said it should be our choice for the following Friday. So, we made our way back to H Street this Friday to check out H&C. Let me get to the point and say we had absolutely no serious regrets about anything we ordered. Although we had to park about two blocks from the location (IYKYK), it was worth it. When we arrived, there was a small line. But, it was moving pretty fast. When we got to the counter, the person taking our orders was very helpful at offering suggestions. If you don't want to go to the counter, there are kiosk where you can place your order. The one negative comment that I have about this location is that people who came in and placed their order(s) long after we did, received their order(s) before us. So, I don't know if there are any specifics into how they manage getting their orders out Outside of that, the food was really good. Each of us ordered just about the same thing which included chicken and fish. Where we differed a little bit was on the sides. Just about everybody ordered the M&C. Some of us ordered, french fries and greens, or potato salad, and greens. When you order the chicken, you automatically get a biscuit. Unfortunately, that is not the case when you order the fish. (OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENT) So, some of us had to order a biscuit on the side. Overall, everything we ordered taste really good. However, I will say the noodles in the M&C were slightly overcooked, and there were a bit more stems in the collard greens than I would have preferred. But, the taste for both the M&C and the collard greens was on point. The fish and the chicken (including the mumbo sauce) gets a thumbs up. Everything was seasoned and fried well. It is my understanding H&C is open until 5 AM. So, if you're having a good time at one of the local establishments on H Street and it gets a little too late to go to a traditional fast food location or one of the restaurants on the corridor, I wouldn't hesitate to give H&C a try. The only thing I would be mindful of is there is limited space for dining in. So, you will probably have to order, grab, and go. I do want to note one important thing. If you are going to H&C for the Thursday and Friday chicken wing special, the H St. location does NOT honor that promotion. You will need to go to the Hyattsville location for that. Everybody in our group agreed that we will be returning. Happy eating!

The fries were sort of stereotypical, nothing really fancy about those. I debated about having the truffle fries, but didn't really wanna pay the extra three dollars. Bless my server, he didn't know what black truffles were, either. The Reesie's peanut butter cup Skrewball milkshake was quite good. Good use of Skrewball. Could've done with a little more alcohol, but what a great combination. Good taste. Vanilla ice cream and peanut butter all the way through. My only .. concern.. were the pickles. There's this NoVA chain restaurant that serves POPCORN before the meal, which I think has to be the most depressing, unappetizing, lazy and cheap way to start a meal.
