This is in a convenient location for ordering but our group order is usually missing an item or not made correctly. While the food is always made fresh and tastes great, it's disappointing when you don't have your full order. They will correct it quickly while you are there but if you order through their app and it gets delivered via DoorDash then you are out of luck and have to place another order. I'm glad that there is a location her, but not so thrilled that there is no seating literally anywhere. I'm sure that this was by design due to the really seedy neighborhood. They have an elaborate drive thru setupi that was staffed with three people who were taking orders both inside and out. There is also a walk-up window where people can place orders there. But nowhere to sit. I ordered the grilled chicken ceasar wrap from the drive thru. It tasted outstanding with the jalapeňo cheese. I managed to eat the wraps with a full calorie classic coke in my car. They served me up quick which was a good thing because I had limmited time for lunch. Employees are extremely rude. Today, GWorld payment was down (which GW dining did not notify on Instagram like they usually do). I went to go pay with GWorld, and the lady working told me it was down but that I can do it on Grubhub. I asked her how to do that, expecting she would show me as there was no one waiting in line behind me. But instead she walked away as I kept asking her questions. So I stood there figuring it out, only for the app to say it wasn't taking GWorld payments online either. When I showed her this, she just said "I don't know, all I know is it isn't working in person on the machine." So she walked away when I needed help(avoiding her customer service job), and also blatantly lied to me, saying that I could order on the app when the app wasn't working. Instead of just telling me she didn't know or not mentioning the app in the first place, she wasted my time. Besides from horrible customer service, there is no place to sit and no bathroom in the restaurant. Submitted a breakfast order at the specific breakfast hours. We arrived to the pick up window for the female employee to state that "we aren't doing breakfast anymore" after we had given the breakfast order. This was a breakfast order for 8 people. After going back and forth to how it was only 3 minutes after breakfast, she continued pushing for a refund instead of honoring the order. When submitting the order with the drive-thru employee for breakfast, she even stated she confirmed she heard the order submitted, laughed at us, and mumbled something homophonic under her breath. I must admit, the first time I tried to access the drive thru line, I was confused, entered from the wrong side and just gave up. Lol This time however, I entered from the correct side (Maryland Ave NOT G St) and there wasn't too too many cars already in line. As per usual, I placed my order on the app although the young man that approached my window still had to be notified. Every employee I came in contact with was hard working and polite. I did not mind the slightly lengthy wait because my food was on point and it was obvious everyone was doing what they could to ensure the line moved smoothly. I am writing this review, hoping it will help management. I also realize you may be short staff at this time; however, back when you first opened, it was semi-crazy then. My experience today was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. I placed my order at the entrance, not the menu board. One would think that would keep the line moving...NOT. After placing my order, it took another 17 minutes to get my food. That's not the biggest problem. The problem is that my food was probably sitting in the window that long. My #1 chicken sandwich was not crispy anymore. There was a whole in the bag, so the bread was wet and mushy. Had i checked the sandwich, I have given it back. The fries were cold and inedible. I did exchange those. I ordered a large coke. I got a large cup of ice with some coke. I had enough ice when my coke was done to pour 16.9 ounces water over it. The water was room temperature. It now ice water. I am ok with asking for condiments, straws, dipping sauces, napkins, etc, but don't be disrespectful Miss Lady, who was running the food. I would have requested what I wanted when I ordered, but remember, the order taker was standing at the entrance. The sign about needing to ask for these things is near the menu board. It's some new DC rule now. SMH. The reason I give 2 stars is because the grounds around the outside sitting area and the drive-thru were clean. Suggestions: 1. Corporate needs to retrain everyone at this location and the South Dakota locations. Starting with management down to the janitorial staff. Chick-fil-a's brand is at stake at each of these locations. What happened to "Welcome to CFA, may I take your order?" OR "My pleasure!" when I thank them. I said thank you to the chick who was running the food, she grunted at me. That is not ok. So, I spent $9.56 for fries and the equivalent of a small coke. The sandwich was trashed. 2. There needs to be some type of quality control. Maybe managers can be more visible during busy times. I must say it may not make a difference if the managers are trained improperly. What I like about CFA is that they hire young people, but you set them up if they are not trained properly about CFA and the level of customer service patrons are accustomed to. So, compared to other Chick-fil-A locations, the service here isn't as welcoming. In my opinion it has gotten a lot better though over the year. This location only offers drive thru and walk up service. There are a couple tables outside in the front that not many people use, but it's there. They get really busy so the wait can be long, even for mobile orders. I waited about 20 minutes for a mobile order before. My last chicken sandwich from here was a little on the greasy side. Well well well. What can I say. Upon arrival the line was long in both the drive thru and the window. I stood at the window waiting to place my order for about 10 minutes as the staff whispered and continuously walked pass me. I had to ask them is there someone working at the window even though they all saw me. Once order was placed the guy was super unprofessional as he argued with a customer from inside of the window. I completed a mobile breakfast order for this cfa and hoped right in my car (I live approximately 3 minutes away) and got in line. I have my name so that my order could switch on the app to the "hear status." The girl stated that we were good and to pull forward. After pulling up to the window we were told they were done making breakfast and wouldn't be fulfilling our order (we literally watched a man before us get a breakfast burrito.) They stated we should have chosen carry out instead of drive through (how does that make a difference?) As we asked questions since we were confused, the customer service continued to decline. I have been a loyal chic-fil-a customer for YEARS. I have probably spent tens of thousands of dollars at CFA, and gladly. This location however, has me driving farther so that I can still enjoy CFA, but without the stress. A short list of issues: 1. They now make you ORDER a straw, napkins, and other things. 2. I remember to actually ORDER a straw and napkins. I confirm with the folks at the window that they remembered the straw and napkins. They say "yes." I drive away...NO STRAW OR NAPKINS. Horrible. 3. They often forget to put things in your order (especially cookies and brownies). This has happened to me at least FIVE times. In my most recent order, I had requested and PAID FOR three brownies and got home to find they weren't there. At this point, the losses are really adding up. I called and spoke with a manager and they said they would put a credit on my CFA account. I called back twice. The credit never appeared. I'm too exhausted to keep trying. 4. My dog LOVES CFA. She gets SO happy when we go through the drive-thru. She knows she is about to get a PUPCUP (which is literally a cup and a little bit of whipped cream). I try to order a pup cup. I'm told "we don't do that here" and I said "do you have cups?" CFA team: "YES!" Me: "Do you have whipped cream?" CFA team: "Yes...". Me: "GREAT. Could you please put a little whipped cream in a cup for us?" CFA Staff: "No." Recently, we were even told that we had to buy a milkshake to get any whipped cream. So I pulled around and offered to buy a milkshake, but specified that I did not actually want the milkshake and only wanted a small cup of whipped cream. I was told NO! Chic-fil-a used to be a REALLY enjoyable experience. People would go out of their way to be kind, so you didn't mind paying a little more for the amazing food. This chic-fil-a just leaves so many of the core CFA values at the door. It's stressful, its expensive to pay for things you don't get, it's sad to be told no to things that cost pennies (even when you offer to pay for them). CFA is a GREAT company that pays well and they used to have great employees who appreciated the job and did amazing training. We spend big money every year at CFA. This chick-fil-a location has so many things wrong with it. Chick-fil-a really needs to step up and take control of this franchise. First, the location is gross. The trash cans in the seating area are always overflowing and there is an inordinate amount of trash lining the drive thru. Next, the staff are so rude and unaccommodating. Chick-fil-a is known for the quality of its staff and service, but this location threatens their good reputation. On several occasions, my husband and I have been spoken to rudely - our concerns have been brushed off and our requests ignored. On the latest occasion, we had waited in the drive thru for over 20 minutes - 2 cars from the window and NOT MOVING (not just in the long line that extends into the road and causes traffic). When we mentioned our concern at the window, we were told "well there was a woman..." (the employee couldn't even bother to finish the explanation). We were pointedly ignored. The low score is misleading. People get cranky because they have to wait at a popular chain and write low star reviews. Here's the truth: The food is always delicious.The service is exceptional. They are not only fast considering the incredibly long lines from both in person walking traffic and car traffic (they have had to renovate the driveway just to stop traffic jams from people trying to pull in), but they are always friendly and courteous to a fault. They are a diverse team of men and women every time I go working in harmony. They seem to treat each other as well as they treat their customers. Did I get the wrong cheese on one of my sandwiches ONCE....in what...50 times that I've gone? Sure. They are swamped and that's going to happen. That doesn't mean they aren't kicking ass and taking names, and the food is always delicious. I've never had an experience like this at a chick fil a before. They did not give me my sauces and they gave me overcooked fries. I usually have great food here, so although I WALKED there and back, after discovering these fries, I DROVE back for a solution. Well, the manager spoke to me and I was so disappointed by her. She asked me what was wrong. I showed them to her and said they're not cooked properly. She asked again, as if I am making it up. I literally removed them from the bag to show her. You can visibly see the fries are dry, over-cooked and discolored (over cooked). Even the outside texture was off. I gave her what she seemed to want...adjectives to describe how bad they are. I had to use multiple adjectives for her to say, okay and replace them. I have a life, why would I lie about a fry and STILL bring it back to show you? She also told me I should have CALLED the store beforehand. Who thinks of calling a drive through? I am so disappointed. She said "I'm sorry YOU FEEL that way." On 4/23 I place a mobile order as I normally do. Went home and saw that my food order was wrong. Paid for more food than I was given. I called immediately and submitted an issue report through the app. Ok maybe they are overwhelmed, it is unprecedented times. By 4/29 another call and angry tweet later, no response, so I decide to give it another try and bring my receipt to explain the issue. I go through drive through having already submitted my mobile order for tonight's dinner. I get to the window, ask for a manager, to request a refund. I patiently explained that I've been reaching out since 4/23, but got no response. She told me that people normally come back the same day....this puzzled me because I was given the wrong order, I was expected to leave the comforts of my home, leave my family at night (this was 8 pm)to correct an issue I didn't create. Tatiana said they called the owner. I again ask for a manager, she said the manager on duty cannot refund the receipt, the owner said no. I asked for the owners number. This location accepts orders via the Uber Eats app, but does not fulfill them. Be warned that if you place an order with this restaurant using Uber Eats as a person wanting food, or accept a request to drive there as an Uber Eats driver, the result of the exercise may simply be wasted time, especially if the order is placed near closing time. Uber Eats is primarily a technology company, in that they provide apps. An app for people who are hungry, an app for drivers, an app for restaurants. The problem with this restaurant is they do not operate the Uber restaurant app properly. When they are not planning to fulfill an order, they refuse to take the few seconds to hit the "cancel order" button on their app. The lack of respect this negligent franchisee behavior demonstrates causes a loss of goodwill with diners and drivers, at a minimum. Though too slight to be pursued, the failure of this franchise to fulfill its contracts to provide food have consequences. Being in breech of contract is not that great a position to maintain. Instead, have the strength of character and customer service attitude to let people know when you plan to fail. That requires courage and self-respect, not cowardly neglect. read more
