Well, I haven't been to this checkers in quite a long time! We were feeling like a little bit of a cheat day, so I stopped by and got a variety of items! I made my order on the app to hopefully make it faster. Well know the service was extremely slow and they took two customers out of the drive-through lane before they took me. They literally asked me if I was with DoorDash and I told them no I ordered for myself. He said well sometimes that happens on the app and asked me to pull around to the other window. The store is really really in need of repair! The drive-through boards are broken. There are holes all in the parking lot, and I mean, deep holes that made my truck shake! I would think corporate would want to pay attention to this store because it has the ability to make a lot of money with some improved service and cleaning! I can't say anything bad about the food because I didn't expect much. I actually enjoyed the chicken wings. I will say the fries were cold, but everything else at least was hot. I did enjoy the Philly cheesesteak bites. I guess it will probably be another long time before I come here again, unless I find out that they've made improvements! read more

Checkers - I will say that the wings were better than I even expected! - Fast Food Near Me - Charleston, South Carolina

First of all, I'm leaving only one star because there is not a zero star option. After shorting me an apple pie, french fry, and chocolate shake, in my pickup order, I tried to call the store. The only answer after many rings was that fax sound. Anyway, so, I had to drive back up there to get my items that they left out. Upon my arrival, they replaced the apple pie and french fry order they left out. I was told that they did not serve milkshakes although I had already paid for it online. They refused to refund my money and tried to force a soda on me instead. I already had sodas in my order. So, I didn't want another one. read more

Made a review the other day about being told they were too busy to serve me(only 2 cars in parking lot) and having windo slammed in my face. Now today had friend stop by in a car thinking hey maybe today I can get some lu. He was told they aren't serving burgers (it's a burger joint) and was given some chili cheese fries and nothing else. When i got them... my job is less than 1 min away, was cold and soggy, and all the cheese was mashed on the box. Can we please shut this Checkers on Remount Rd, Chas SC down. Last review I was instructed to write checkers complaints.com and got nowher. I'd just like my money back and this place to do better. If it's corporate, maybe it's time y'all stepped in. If it's franchise mayb y'all should shut down. read more

I'm currently sitting in line for an hour for a simple Big Beaufort combo. There is a line of angry customers. No one is telling us what is happening. This was an awful experience and is a common occurrence at this location. It's a shame that basic communication is an issue in letting us know of the delay. I now remember why I travel the extra distance to the Dorchester road location, because what is this? read more

I wasn't going to review this, but since ive been waiting (trapped in) the drive thru for over 15mins, only 3 cars back, I might as well. Lets see... Only 1 lane open, but no sign to tell you so and the girl working the window could not figure out a simple 2 combo order. When we finally got to the pick up window, the girl's first words were: "So, what did you order?" Needless to say, after some laughs and some explinations we got our food. Was it good? No. But I don't know what expecting really. Glad you can't go inside really since the whole place looked dirty. read more

Well, I must say...pretty fantastic! The service was excellent, but the food was to die for. The pickles were exquisite -- perfect crunch with the utmost juiciness. The patty was cooked to my requested medium rare. I must say, I did have one gripe, and thus, I removed (1) star from my review. The Diet Coke was flat. read more

Let me go ahead and start with the fact that I am a patient man. But patience only goes so far. I have seen glaciers move faster than this place. We arrived and there was a small group of us (three orders in total) . My daughter and I ordered last of the three. We got our food after the car that had pulled up after us and the person who walked up after the group that walked up behind us (that's right a two groups back). Then another car got their food as did the people behind us. Then the first people in our group finally got their food (it's been a solid 20 minutes) at this point. By the time the last person who ordered got their food, my order had gone cold. Easily the most disorganized kitchen I've ever seen and there is clearly NO idea how to run tickets. read more

Cooks messed up order on purpose then, refused to remake it. They offered us a side of what we ordered on our sandwiches. They seemed irritated that we didn't want just regular cheeseburgers, and did not seem to care that our food was not correct. It's not always like this it depends on the employees working . read more

Workers were just standing outside taking a smoke break while a HUGE line was forming. Unprofessional and unacceptable.

What's the point of ordering on the app if they're just going to ignore the line all together? Like I understand that you need to move the actual drive thru line but I waited nearly an hour with 2 cars in front of me for the mobile order line. They also take zero customization into consideration when ordering on the app. Ex: I'll order a plain burger and they'll throw everything on it. Im never one to complain especially since I worked fast food a few years ago but fuck me id give it zero stars if possible read more

I can see why this place has such a low rating. Just a bunch of kids talking inside but don't take any orders. Waited at the drive through just so they can look out the window and laugh but won't help. Customer service has really gone down hill with hires. read more

I don't remember Checkers being THIS good in almost 20 years.. when I was a kid and I had NO kind of taste buds whatsoever and gut made of surgical grade steel. But I LOVE going to this location for lunch. If you are in their "club," Checkers sends you coupons and specials about once a week or so. Sometimes it's for free fries, or a free Big Buford or other burger. But even when it's not, for $2 get TWO REAL BURGERS that TASTE GOOD and have the fixings. Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Pickles, and cheese. The staff during lunch is really chill too and seem to always be in a good mood. I wish there was one in West Ashley... Definitely a Lunchtime find! I had a bad experience at a Checkers a long time ago, so I was hesitant to come here to the newest Checkers at the corner of Yeamans Hall and Remount Rd. But I have been several times now, and yes, I'm a fan. The employees are super nice and fast! The food is great ( for fast food, you understand). I love the fries! They are crispy and coated in some type of batter? with what looks like cracked pepper. I can eat them without ketchup ( and do )! And it's inexpensive! Good food, nice employees, fast turnaround, close and convenient. I'll be back! read more

Usually quick, seems clean inside, and everyone is friendly. They have yet to mess up my order and you can walk up to order and cut in line vs waiting in the car. Possibly the largest milkshake for the money in the world. read more

Before going, I checked the menu online and decided on what I wanted to try. When I got to the drive thru I couldn't find the burger I'd already picked out online. NOONE was behind me in line but the lady on the other end of the speaker kept asking me what I wanted to order. I told her I'd let her know when I was ready ... she gave me about 10 seconds and asked if I was ready. Really. I mean, give a person a chance to think! That being said: burger-- dry patty, entirely too much mustard and mayo, slippery iceberg lettuce and tomato that made this just a hot mess. Chili dog -- too much chili -- I couldn't pick it up because when I tried the bun fell apart. Ate with a fork and knife but I've had better chili dogs. Fries -- not a fan of the batter and spices on the outside. The only decent ones were the ones still warm in the box because as they cooled, they got hard. read more

The outside of this place needs a deep cleaning, it smells like sewage. Service was okay, the employees were dismissive and kinda rude. But, it was late at night. Would try again to see if it's any better. read more

Discovered this Checkers Drive In by accident today by going straight across the Remount River intersection from the Charleston Animal Society in lieu of turning left onto Rivers. It is right before the Yeamans Hall intersection across from Walgreens on the left. They said they opened early Dec. Always loved a Checker burger & seasoned fries, but locations were not convenient and they closed the one W. Ashley. They have improved..not as greasy..pure delicious comfort food as I call a good cheeseburger. I think the burger I had today ties with Wendys, and Wendys has always been my fav burger joint. I was offered a large cup of tea for $1. Friendly girl at the drive thru..she told me if I went online to take a survey I get a free Champ burger for free. They also have chili dogs and a variety of flavored wings. I will check out the garlic parmesan wings soon! read more

This place needs a complete overhaul. The roof looks like it's about too fall in.....Needs to be torn down, and rebuilt...

My wife and I recently moved to the North Charleston area, and neither of us had seen or heard of a Checkers. Recently I decided to stop in and give this location a try because of its convenience for me on my way home from work. I ordered the Bacon Roadhouse burger, and while the picture is slightly deceiving in relation to the size of the burger, it was absolutely delicious. The staff at this location is just as great as the food. Every time they seem happy to help and be there. I have since returned to the location not once, but twice in the last 2 weeks. Each time trying something new. I have no complaints other than the parking lot. It is a little hard to maneuver, but I can definitely overlook that. Definitely recommend the Remount Rd location here in Charleston, SC. read more
