I had new tires put on my truck and needed a front-end alignment. Went to a local place out of convenance. Technician said he had a difficult time getting the alignment to "meet specs". Gave me an estimate of $1100 in frontend parts - "but this might not be the issue. Could be that you need shocks." Well, I decided to start with the shocks - installed myself in Nov. The mechanic we use who doesn't do alignments. So, he recommended Checkered Flag. Never been happier! These guys rock! They aligned the truck. I always feel confident bringing my car to Bob and Mike to be repaired. I don't have a good history in my luck with cars and they are very patient and kind with me. They make sure to explain everything and look after me and my car. I'm so happy I took a chance here. Moving from New York I was having a really challenging time finding a trustworthy and reasonable mechanic. Called to ask them to take a look at a used classic vehicle I purchased before sealing the deal and Bob was really thorough and knew his stuff. Recently took my SUV in for much needed TLC. Bob found a problem I have been trying to solve for a year. The dealership couldn't figure it out and after multiple attempts and a lot of money later the problem was never fixed. The first time bringing the truck into Checkered Flag Auto the problem was fixed. I had rear and front breaks/rotors done, front tires replaced, front outer tie rod replaced, and an oil change. They were fairly priced and took care of me right away. Yes, they are very busy at times (another reviewer was upset about rudeness during a busy time). Could have jus been a bad time (we all can have our moments and we don't know what was happening in that moment. In my case despite being very busy I was still taken care of with respect and kindness. In fact my car needed a lot of work and they still took care of it ALL in the same day. How disappointing. I never want to write a bad review but I just got off the phone from Checkered Flag Auto and they basically told me they were too busy to check how much brake pads would cost to be replaced. Most places would get your info and call you back with their pricing. Checkered flag told me he wouldn't be able to replace my brake pads til next week because they were too busy. Told him "can't you get me an estimate over the phone?" And he says call me back in a few hours. I get it your busy and established but a business is never too good for new customers. We've had a couple situations where they easily could have fixed things that weren't broken or overcharged us and they did the opposite - offering suggestions on how to fix the car ourselves, and most recently, not charging us at all for diagnostic work when they were unable to repair the car.
