Had my first taste of Cheba Hut last week and I am just kicking myself I hadn't tried it before now! Although it's a pricier sandwich, I can confirm it is worth every penny!!! I had the El Canna and added banana peppers on the garlic bread- the flavor was through the roof, bread was perfectly toasted, meat to bread ratio was perfection just an all around fantastic experience! My friends ordered the Kali Mist and we shared some of the krispy/fruit treats. So delicious! Only drawback in the experience was some less than stellar performance from the delivery driver as they left our food outside of the building on the ground- glad someone spotted the nonsense and helped us out! I can't even knock back a star for that though because I think that may have been a GrubHub issue. This is going to be a must have during my visits from now on. read more

only thing going good for this place is the subs. The red hair girl bartender ruined my experience. She was not prepared or not well trained or might have been just "toasted". she had no sense of urgency and had audacity to check ID's and help other customers who came in during the middle of her making my drink, she then went on to leave my drink hanging out(was not a beer with foam) while she helped other people, she even went togo check what was in stock for couple while my drink was made and not handed to me.. she then saw me and then handed me my drink, while then finishing helping other people before asking me how I'm paying... wasting my time. underprepared, had to run to locked up liquor cage, not because of sold out or someone buying bottle but because she wasn't prepared and didn't check what bottles were low prior to her shift starting. will not recommended unless I want everything toasted including my employees... read more

Was so excited to give this place a try especially after a long shift since it has been recommended so often, walked in at 11:25 and got treated absolutely TERRIBLE. The cashier instantly rolled her eyes and slammed her gloves down because we wanted to order to go. I was honestly so shocked I didn't even end up ordering & we just waited for my friend's sandwich so we can leave. Food is always great! BUT we showed up to the bar with a group of eight people for bingo, which was a lot of fun but after it was over the bartender had the nerve to ask us to keep it down after we had spent over $400 and tipped her generously. Mind you there was 6 people in the restaurant besides her four friends. We had also tipped her very well the night before!!! First time at this location and it was a very enjoyable experience. Sandwiches were absolute fire! We got beers and the bar, and had some cereal krispy treats for desert. I go to Cheba hut all the time and I've never been disappointed. Connie has been my cashier every time and has always greeted me with a smile and given the best service. I've never had bad food here before and love coming at least once or twice a month. The service is always fantastic and all of the employees are nice. Will definitely be back again! read more

Can't say I was overly impressed. Ordered 4 subs and a salad for pickup. Ordered a club, a 5-0 and two Bombs- one with no mushrooms. I would have expected them to mark the subs somehow, would not have been overly difficult to at least write No mushrooms on one of them, but no. Had to open All of them and then root through both bombs to look for mushrooms. My bomb was overly salty and the bread did not hold up. Just not sure what the buzz is about this place. read more

Food was amazing. The employees were nice and food was served in a timely manner. They got my order correct even though it was a little complicated. The ambiance is very hipster stoner. I'm driving by and I see the name on the building: Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs. So I wondered, what do they mean by "toasted"? Is it kinda like when my teenage daughter is "studying" in her room? Well, no. In fact, my The Kind (turkey and bacon) sub was toasted, and it was really good. So it's still mysterious to me why "toasted" is in quotes. Anyway, if it was so good, why am I only at 3 stars? Well, read a few other reviews. I bet you'll quickly find some that mention bringing in kids. Now look at the photos I posted. See the one with the "Thank You FOR POT SMOKING" sign? It's down there nice and low where the kids can get a good look at it. And though I'm not against pot - I voted to legalize it - I don't think it's cool to encourage it, especially to impressionable kids. The other nitpick that I have is the "tip first, get served later" model. Sorry - a tip is a reward for excellent service. You do a good job, and I'll tip well - in that order. read more

2 stars because of sandwich prices related to the very, very, very skimpy meat portions allotted. The food was very good. I had the pakalolo, can't recall what my wife had. Regardless, the embarrassingly thin and quantity of meat is unacceptable. I had a 8" sandwich and my wife had a 4". I got a whole 2 slices of see-through ham and my wife got 1 slice. I think they use Kroger brand deli meat sliced ultra thin. I understand profit margin and all, but this level of ripping off customers will drive them away; then what are you going to do Cheba Hut? We also got the cheese sticks that came with a hot marina dip and ranch dip which was very good, and a soda. The bill was $30.00. I can eat more for less at a steak house by getting a very good soup and salad bar. Lesson learned. read more

I ordered a Dank sub and two Power Plant salads to be delivered - the sub was just fine, but the salads were missing most of their ingredients. According to their website, the Power Plant comes with guacamole, hummus, feta, spring mix, tomato, onion, pickle, cucumber, shrooms, black olive, green bell pepper, Shake & House dressing. However, when they arrived they were missing the onion, cucumber, mushrooms, black olives, and bell peppers. I called in and was told that I could either come in to pick up the missing ingredients (not possible, which is why I ordered delivery), come in sometime later in the week (I don't live in the area - just helping out a friend), or basically - sorry about your luck. It was also mentioned that the base of the salad is different than the sub, but nowhere on the website is that mentioned. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

I came into this location for the first time on 06/18/20 and all of the employees on the line *making food* were wearing their masks hanging off their faces with their noses completely exposed. What's the point of wearing them if they're not going to do so correctly? Our favorite sandwich shop. We like all of them - Italian, French dip, roast beef, chicken bacon ranch. the kids like the grilled cheese and pb&j. I used to love Cheba Hut but I've noticed the recent decline in quality from this place. The last straw was when my friends and I showed up to this location on Saturday because we saw on Google that it closed at midnight. We showed up at 11:15pm and were informed that they would close in 15 minutes and that we had to have our food to-go. Everything was okay until we sat down to wait for our food. It came out rather quick but it was honestly just crumbs. The quality of the sandwich was so bad but we didn't say anything. We just proceeded to eat our food despite it being bad and by then it was 11:25-11:30p. At that point we went to order one more sandwich, or at least we asked if we could and the cashier (who was very rude by the way) said we could and I ordered a to-go sandwich. I went to go sit down and after 5 minutes of waiting a staff member came up to us and proceeded to kick all of us out very rudely. If she would have just been nice about it then it wouldn't have been a problem but she was so incredibly rude and didn't even let me get my sandwich so I had to leave without my food that I had already paid for. Cheba Hut used to be such a good place to eat and just have a good time but it's clear that this place is just focused on the wrong things. Won't be going back. read more
