Unique and interesting, delicious empanadas abound here. Service was fast and friendly. We asked for extra warm / crisp and that's what we got. There's limited outdoor seating but it's never full. Overlooks a busy intersection so quite noisy and bustling.

Haven't gotten a chance to go in person yet, but we had a small variety of empanadas and we loved. Will definitely go here/order again. We had: Chicken Classico Beef Tango Chicken and Mushroom Spicy Chicken

I came to this place because I went to Grandma's Kitchen (few doors down) and the wait for food was soooo long despite calling in ahead of time. I was glad to see several new restaurants opened on this block. Ambiance: This place is pretty small but very cozy and looks clean and bright. Its a comfortable place for very small parties to dine in, but there is also a table right outside. The display showing all the empanadas had labels telling you the name of each, but it was hard to decipher what was inside (to me). Pricing: Reasonable. Check the little blackboard on the right side. I took the 3 piece combo for $12.99. Empanadas were decently sized for the price and a 3 pack would make a nice meal for someone. Food: I asked what was popular and the messi was something new. Its beef and onions inside and to us, tasted like a steak and cheese. It was the best one. I also had a spicy churro, but it tasted similar and I can't really tell the difference or distinguish the two. I also got the classic chicken and that was dry and not good. I wouldn't recommend that one but the other 2 were good. I wished they had a plain one with just chicken and cheese inside. Many of the options seems to say onions and peppers, so if you like that stuff, then you'll have plenty of options. If you're with someone that likes plain-er food or are picky eaters then this is something to consider. Service: Very friendly from the single person running the show. She was communicative - greeted me and offered to help pick out what I wanted. She offered to heat up my empanandas, which only took 40 seconds. Parking: Plenty of street parking outside.

Love these Argentinian empanadas! The shop is small but they have TONS of different kinds of empanadas to chose from. Im a savory person and my fiance is a sweet person so I tried the Beef Clásico which had ground angus beef, onions, red bell peppers, scallions & egg. He tried the Beef Criolla which had ground angus beef, onions & raisins. Both were super delicious! Looking forward to trying more.

It was ok. Not in a hurry to go back. The dough was good but the fillings were lackluster. A little pricey.

** Updating previous review with more tapas rankings **…read more Yuca Frita (9.5/10): These are so freaking delicious, wow. The cilantro aioli was an amazing dipping sauce. They really are fried to perfection. Frituras de Maiz: (10/10): Wow, these fritters are also amazing. They come with such a rich sauce. The fritters are exploding with flavor. Cazuela de Coliflor Asada (9/10): Insanely good dish. The cauliflower has perfect texture, complemented by the pistachios. The sauce is SO good. The cauliflower soaks it up so well. Chicharrones (9/10): Melt in your mouth pork belly. The pork skin crust was perfect. The sauces really make most of the dishes here. This dish is no different - I loved the sauce. Ropa Vieja (9/10): Perfectly slow cooked meat. One thing that really stood out to me was actually the white rice. The rice was VERY high quality, and I appreciated it so much. It's rare to come by rice this good. It had the perfect texture, chew, and fragrance. Ropa Vieja de Hongos (9/10): Pretty much the same as Ropa Vieja above. The mushrooms are delicious, and the dish is just as good whether your order the mushroom or steak version. Empanada del Carne (9/10): Oh man, the crusts are so good. This is pretty on par with the ones I just had in Puerto Rico. Chuletas de Cordero (8/10): The seasoning is heavenly. I was licking the lamb chops clean. Croquetas (8/10): Very solid croquetas. Wouldn't say it's a must-order, but you can't go wrong with them. Costillas a la Guayaba (6/10): The first time I had this it was really nicely marinated, and the rib meat is so tender that it almost falls off the bone. The second time, the meat was dry. Maduros con Tocino (6.5/10): This dish was pretty good, but got overshadowed by the other ones. Pulpo (6.5/10): Octopus was tender and savory. The potatoes were too salty. Camarones a la Plancha (6.5/10): Solid dish, but I enjoyed some other ones even more. Ensalada de Aguacate y Pina (6/10): The salad was a bit too sour, and that sourness overpowered the dish. It was a great blend of ingredients, though. *** and one dessert *** Churros con Chocolate (8.5/10): Big crunchy fluffy churros!! The chocolate sauce is amazing (not really spicy at all). You have to get this for dessert!!

It's cozy and intimate space, with the bar and tables poised under a glass atrium. Ideal for date night. The owner was attentive, checking on us frequently, while making food and drink suggestions. The Wild Spanish Octopus ($17), which was "wood grilled" with fingerling potatoes with smoked Pimenton (paprika) garlic-mayo alioli, was sublime. The "Uruguayan style ham & cheese empanada (2 for $14) was less spectacular, as the meat was indiscernable, due to being somewhat overpowered by the cheese. The wood grilled bay carrots ($12) with hazelnut, romanesco sauce (a Catalonian mix of tomatoes, garlic and nuts) and fried bread, was well executed and nicely flavorful. The craft cocktail offerings are creatively inspired. Enjoyed the Passion Fruit dark/rum concoction ($15), and the Fig Old Fashioned made with infused bourbon and aromatic butters ($16). Be careful about ordering too may drinks as this will quickly add up and pad your bill, taking it well over $100 per person (incl tax and tip) before you know it. Will definitely be back to try more of the tasting dishes and even dip into the intriguing dessert menu. Make sure to bring someone special.

Their prices are reasonable for this type of homestyle fare, so you have no reason to give your money to a big chain owned by fat cats! ;) On weekends, the wait for table seating can be an hour-plus but there is a reason for this. We ordered popcorn chicken to start and devoured our bowls of soup: chicken and braised beef. Mine was the latter and I ended up ordering additional noodles and Chinese veggies so the delicious broth would not go to waste! My side order of noodles was a healthy portion. I also tried the pork wontons and we finished off our meal with the sesame seed "appetizer" balls (4 small pieces: 2 skewers with 2 each). Dine-in seating is limited but what they have is clean and simple. The complementary jasmine and green hot tea is delicious. Andy served us and was attentive and affable. I will definitely come back to try the salt and pepper pork chop many have written about!

As a family run restaurant , grandma and the rest of the family had a flight to catch to Taiwan the next day; all the ingredients are fresh to prep daily and sadly for some, they had to get turned away that night... I went heavy hitter mode, I was in the zone. I got the salt & pepper pork chop- wasn't going to eat the rice but as you can see from the pic below of the noodles- I licked the entire plate clean. This pork chop was perfectly seasoned and it was insanely tender. Very impressed with how tender and flavorful it was. Next up had the spicy wonton noodles; just truly amazing, idk what else to say. The noodles are perfectly cooked, super flavorful dish. The beef noodles were also incredible and the braised beef pieces stole the show in that bowl. I left zero room for any to go box. Service was amazing, they were super nice & I even got to say hello and compliment Grandma upon leaving. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I will definitely be back soon!

They have a wide variety of empanadas (a lot more flavors than their website advertises) in addition to some retail items in the tiny store. I got the beef clasico, tango beef, spicy chicken, and mushroom chicken empanadas, which came out to $20 before tax and tip. The person who helped me with my order kindly labeled everything in the box. Only when I got home did I realize that I forgot to ask for chimichurri! The empanadas reheated well. They had a very delicate pastry shell that would sometimes crumble from the weight of the fillings. They tasted homey-- not too salty, greasy, or overly processed. While each empanada flavor tasted unique, I thought that they could definitely be enhanced by a tangy, salty, spicy sauce. I really should have picked up some chimichurri... They have a good selection of vegetarian empanadas and a vegan empanada as well. I look forward to coming back!
