Small shop. They were out of pretty much everything when we stopped by even though there were still 3 hours until they closed. Very poor management skills. Considering other reviews have mentioned the same issue, this is something that the owner needs to evaluate and fix. We got the London Fog (which tasted like straight sugar) and Caramel Apple (which tasted like a mouthful of cinnamon and sugar). I spat them both out. Would not recommend. The only redeeming quality was that the macaron shells were very nicely baked and texture had a good crunch. read more

This little gem is so cute, it's tucked away on Burro alley- It's blush pink inside so it's cute for those aesthetically pleasing pictures. The matcha is absolutely delicious, light creamy and subtle hints of cherry and almond. My friends got banana matcha they described it as creamy goodness in cup. Creative macaron flavors! I've had the cookies before, but this time I went for only macarons and all of them were very tasty. The macaron shell quality was a bit inconsistent, some of them were nice and fluffy and others were hollow, but you'll be hard pressed to find another shop that does specialty flavors like this shop. read more

The other reviews are true! This tiny French cookie and coffee shop, just off the Santa Fe Plaza, is whipping up some of the best cookies I've ever had. My only regret is that I didn't try the cookie until I was already on the freeway, too late to turn around and sample every flavor. I got the chocolate chip and almond croissant cookie, and wow... just wow. The almond croissant cookie was unlike anything I've ever tasted. It was moist with a great structure, filled with almond paste, and topped with powdered sugar and toasted almonds- absolutely divine. They also had a Fruity Pebbles cookie filled with cheesecake and a crème brûlée cookie, both of which I had never heard of before. The woman working was incredibly kind. The shop is small but has a few tables where you can sit and enjoy your drink and dessert. They have a nice matcha menu, but I'm pissed at myself for not trying the brown sugar peach latte. I stopped by Chaîné expecting a nice little café/bakery experience, but it was disappointing from start to finish. First off, they actually charged me for a small cup of lukewarm sink water when they were out of bottled water -- something that's supposed to be free in the state of NM. When I politely asked about it, the staff were rude and dismissive, like I was bothering them for even asking. I decided to try one of their cookies even though the selection was next to nothing, hoping it would make up for the poor service -- big mistake. It was dry, bland, and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. Definitely not worth the hefty price. Between being overcharged for basic things, the terrible cookies and a small cup of water, and the attitude from the staff, I won't be coming back. This is a small French bakery tucked into a quiet side street location. Seriously some of the best cookies we've ever had. I chose the creme brûlée, and it was insanely good. If you have a sweet tooth and appreciate quality baked goods go out of your way to visit this place, you won't be sorry. They have a variety of macarons in delightful flavors, soft cookies, and some interesting coffee drinks. Limited seating both inside and out. Pretty little place and I was looking forward to taking some of their macarons to a party. Arrived a few hours before closing yesterday, only to find a sign on the door that said we sold all our cookies come back tomorrow. Ok so I made a special trip into town today, finally was able to find a parking spot, went to the door a little before 1 pm, and the place was locked up tight. It was pretty obvious they had never opened today. No sign on the door today explaining why they were closed. Another customer was there as well who was as annoyed as I was. I am not sure what is going on with this place. I looked at their website just now and every single item they sell is sold out. Weird. If I were you, I'd call before going to make sure they decided to open that day. Also confirm their hours- the sign on the door states different hours than those posted online. Myself, I went to Mille and bought some beautiful macarons for a lower price. They were open (always a good start!), and are a much better option. read more

I accidentally came across this cookie place when taking a shortcut to a museum. It's in a little cut called Burro Aly. Chaine Cookies is the only cookie store in this area. It is a hidden gem. I purchased the crème beulee and lemon something...sorry I was just happy to see cookies The young lady that helped me let me know that the cookies are baked fresh every morning, and they have a selection of macaroons as well. The cookies were two types of chocolate chip one with nuts, and one without, and another cookie called the almond croissant. The top was sprinkled with slivered almonds. It's a super cute shop and the staff there is quite nice. I went there after a hike in the aspens, and this place was recommended to me by a friend of mine back home. Knowing how difficult it is to bake up here. They did a good job making a delicious cookie. It is so much easier to bake at sea level, just to let you know. So kudos to the bakers here. My favorite cookie was the Brule cookie, that had a creme inside the middle. That was pretty cool. The white almond cookie was probably my second favorite. It was just delicious. I did get two chocolate chip cookies, one with sea salt. Both delicious, but those were cookies more for my wife. I'm a fan of the brulee to everything. Finally, i did have a oat milk latte. It had a hint of strawberry in it. Very cool and unique, not overly sweet. It's a good place. read more

Tucked in historical Burro Alley off the Plaza - don't sleep on this amazing gem! These are the best cookies and macarons in all of Santa Fe. The flavors are a beautiful mash up of traditional, unique and unexpected in all the right ways. They have a great coffee menu and the atmosphere is just gorgeous. The creme brûlée cookie is my favorite and I've never had such a satisfying cookie in my life! It's a whole other level.
