Beautiful packaging

Mmmmm, bought some chocolates which I have yet to try. But I was given a sample of the white chocolate pistachio with lavender which was absolutely Deeelicious. Wish I had bought some Beautiful packaging too.

Best chocolate ever!

Needing last minute Christmas gifts, I wandered into the Chocolatesmith in late December. I found their amazing handmade wax covered chocolate and almost bought out the whole store hahaha. They have "Backpacker's Chocolate": rectangular shaped wax covered chocolate that features wax designs worthy of MoMA, and adorable wax covered chocolate chile peppers (both red AND green so you can gift your fellow New Mexicans "Christmas" all year round!) I loved them so much I went back two weeks later to get our office staff gifts. This time I added in their handmade gift cards and local hot chocolate. The employee even hooked me up with adorable gifts bags and satin ribbon for truly one-stop-shopping. But seriously: THE WAX COVERED CHOCOLATE. I hope they make these FOREVER. I am gonna make it my annual holiday gift to my friends and family. If you need any further proof, please see the attached screenshot of my friend's reaction when she finally dove in.

O.M.G. Do you hear angels singing? I do. And they just finished a box of chocolates from The ChocolateSmith in Santa Fe. Though slightly out of the way for a visitor to Santa Fe, this little gem is so totally worth the extra effort. My grandmother (a bona fide chocaholic) and I recently spent a couple of days in Santa Fe and a friend recommended we stop in to the ChocolateSmith for some sweet treats. Holy cow. We spent nearly half an hour in this sweetly decorated little shop, owned by an adorable husband and wife team. The air is heavy with the aroma of top quality dark chocolate, and I swear, the decadence of it practically drips from the walls. If I could just bottle that fragrance...divine! Be sure to try their caramels with sea salt, Don Juan Pecan chocolates and their delicious blend of chili and dark chocolate. Cue those angels singing...seriously. They even have a really unique chocolate pate, offered in a number of cute shapes, dipped in colored wax - perfect for shipping! Very tasty, too. We went a bit crazy...we spent over $100 and bought all kinds of chocolate and even a few unique gifts that went over really well at Christmas. Worth every penny! Take a look at their website - even if you can't get to Santa Fe, you can have some of their deelish treats sent right to your home. http://www.chocolatesmith.com

Okay chocolate. Pistacio dark chocolate is good with a tiny spicy kick. Dark chocolate poppyseed was good. A bit thick but the dried cranberries made it so tastey. Dark choclate mint thin was really good too had to have been my favorite. Presentation was so-so and the girl working the counter seemed to be done with her day. Wouldn't make an effort to go back.

Yummy

Really good chocolate and the toffee is exceptional. It will be a stop on future trips to Santa Fe.

We came here twice during our stay in Santa Fe. The chocolates are so thoughtful, interesting, and…read moredelicious. You can sample any drinking chocolate, even without getting a flight. We definitely preferred to European style with almond milk, but I think that we would like the more traditional ones if they were made with milk. We also really liked the brownies, though the Aztec brownie + ice cream gave me an intense caffeine overload--my fault! Our first time here we each got an ice cream, both with fudge and whipped cream. As I said, while the Aztec was delicious, it really was too much for me, but I still ate the whole thing! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my husband's mint chocolate chip--the peppermint flavor was real--it tasted like they soaked the milk with peppermint leaves to make it, and it was so refreshing! We liked the chocolate truffles and bon bons so much that we ended up buying them as gifts. Our favorite flavors were the sage/goat cheese, peanut butter bar, Aztec round, bourbon pecan, and lavender. Finally, the service was outstanding. The servers were so kind, patient, and helpful. Our first trip the server took the time to write each flavor on our box of chocolates so that we would know what was what. The second server listened as we decided which treats were for which friends, and he wrote their names on each box before wrapping them. So very kind!

The chocolates here are excellent -- high quality, rich, and clearly crafted with care. We…read morepurchased a wide variety and every piece was enjoyable, with most leaning toward deeper, darker chocolate profiles rather than overly sweet flavors. The quality of the product definitely stands out. Unfortunately, the service did not match the standard of the chocolates. When we asked about the different varieties and flavor differences to help decide what to purchase, the response felt dismissive and unwelcoming. For a specialty chocolate shop, customers should be able to expect knowledgeable and engaging guidance, especially when navigating a premium selection. Instead, it felt as though our questions were an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to share expertise and enhance the experience. The lack of warmth and customer engagement significantly took away from what should have been a memorable experience.

The highest quality and authentic New Mexican chili shop. I learned about this shop via my 1993…read moretamales book, they listed this shop and Los Chileros as two sources. Chile shop carries Los Chileros and so does five and dime. Los Chileros is a very authentic New Mexican brand of chili products and seasonings, they sell to almost every major New Mexican restaurant. Five and dime uses Los Chileros chili powder for their famous frito pie. It's a very complex chili. The Chile shop's brand of chili powder is so amazing too I'm thankful I bought the 1 lb bag of spice because I made beef adovada at home with that spice and oh my gosh, it literally tastes like I'm in New Mexico and boy is it hot. Very simple store with only new Mexico's best. Kind and helpful staff, very cool store for sure. My only regret is that I didn't stock up enough. Well I guess that's incentive for me to go back to Santa Fe!!

The website has a dated feel to it but I feel that's because they focus on the product, not the bells and whistles. We even visited the physical store in Santa Fe on a road trip. It has to be good if you're willing to drive 1800 miles to be there in person. It was almost a pilgrimage. The cherry on top? My 91-year-old Hispanic mother-in-law gets all her chilis here. If that's not a ringing endorsement, nothing is.
