Beautiful packaging

Mmmmm, bought some chocolates which I have yet to try. But I was given a sample of the white chocolate pistachio with lavender which was absolutely Deeelicious. Wish I had bought some Beautiful packaging too.

Best chocolate ever!

Needing last minute Christmas gifts, I wandered into the Chocolatesmith in late December. I found their amazing handmade wax covered chocolate and almost bought out the whole store hahaha. They have "Backpacker's Chocolate": rectangular shaped wax covered chocolate that features wax designs worthy of MoMA, and adorable wax covered chocolate chile peppers (both red AND green so you can gift your fellow New Mexicans "Christmas" all year round!) I loved them so much I went back two weeks later to get our office staff gifts. This time I added in their handmade gift cards and local hot chocolate. The employee even hooked me up with adorable gifts bags and satin ribbon for truly one-stop-shopping. But seriously: THE WAX COVERED CHOCOLATE. I hope they make these FOREVER. I am gonna make it my annual holiday gift to my friends and family. If you need any further proof, please see the attached screenshot of my friend's reaction when she finally dove in.

O.M.G. Do you hear angels singing? I do. And they just finished a box of chocolates from The ChocolateSmith in Santa Fe. Though slightly out of the way for a visitor to Santa Fe, this little gem is so totally worth the extra effort. My grandmother (a bona fide chocaholic) and I recently spent a couple of days in Santa Fe and a friend recommended we stop in to the ChocolateSmith for some sweet treats. Holy cow. We spent nearly half an hour in this sweetly decorated little shop, owned by an adorable husband and wife team. The air is heavy with the aroma of top quality dark chocolate, and I swear, the decadence of it practically drips from the walls. If I could just bottle that fragrance...divine! Be sure to try their caramels with sea salt, Don Juan Pecan chocolates and their delicious blend of chili and dark chocolate. Cue those angels singing...seriously. They even have a really unique chocolate pate, offered in a number of cute shapes, dipped in colored wax - perfect for shipping! Very tasty, too. We went a bit crazy...we spent over $100 and bought all kinds of chocolate and even a few unique gifts that went over really well at Christmas. Worth every penny! Take a look at their website - even if you can't get to Santa Fe, you can have some of their deelish treats sent right to your home. http://www.chocolatesmith.com

Okay chocolate. Pistacio dark chocolate is good with a tiny spicy kick. Dark chocolate poppyseed was good. A bit thick but the dried cranberries made it so tastey. Dark choclate mint thin was really good too had to have been my favorite. Presentation was so-so and the girl working the counter seemed to be done with her day. Wouldn't make an effort to go back.

Yummy

They have basic chocolates that are similar in quality to mass produced candy boxes.

All employees are…read moreusually very helpful with recommendations and patient while choosing from many liquid chocolates, truffles, and other sweets. We ordered the Jeffersonian and the Italian Citrus elixirs. Both are 74% chocolate. While the Italian has lemon and orange zest with cinnamon and vanilla, the Jeffersonian has nutmeg and vanilla. The citrus was quite evident and refreshing while the nutmeg gave the Jeffersonian a very earthy flavor. Even though this time we didn't have their truffles, their flavors are unique with lavender, fruits, and even chiles. If you are in for unique sweets and rich elixirs, I absolutely recommend Kakawa.

Though the chocolates are quite costly, $4-5 per piece. I also had a mint chocolate ice cream. The mint flavor here is so unique, of fresh mint, which might not fit well with people who likes mint chocolate ice cream. I like it though. The ice cream is soft and smooth. Chocolate pieces are creamy Mango smoothie is refreshing. I recommend checking this unique place out when visiting Santa Fe.

They recommend the float but actually it's more icecream than drinks. It comes with a huge scoop and a shot of drink. The chili chocolate is creamy and with a hint of spicy. Not over powering. Do try their different items to sample to find your favorite. The chocolate is a bit pricy: a small piece cost couple dollars. There are some tables for you to sit to enjoy with free wifi. Everyone in the store is very friendly, didn't complain that I tried so many different items until I decided to which one I like.

At Kakawa, we came on a day when just one person was behind the counter and three people ahead of us. Do you know what that's like?! As we silently screamed "hurry up!" the chalkboard selections touted a smattering of available flavors while the glass case full of tiny chocolates gleamed like dark jewels. When dining in, the hot chocolate is served in pretty ceramic cups though it wasn't steaming hot the way I usually like my HOT chocolate. Apparently I've been drinking it all wrong as there's a specific temperature that lets the flavors bloom on the palate. Packages of the chocolate blends also are available though quite pricey. I was lucky to be gifted a bag last year, and now understand all the hype! Check em out!
