I found this place after looking for someone to alter a linen jumper skirt and a maxi dress. Chou' alterations is fantastic. The prices are great, and the owner is friendly and incredible at her job. I took one outfit in to be altered, when I came to pick it up, I tried it on, it fit just about the same as before the alteration, so, she altered it a second time. When I arrived to pick up the garment, she quickly told me the amount, so I paid without trying it on, mistake, when I got home, I tried it on, and there is a big bulge in the back. They are the experts, I would think they would have known to alter it in a way so this wouldn't happen. The outfit is brand new, I'm not able to wear it like this, but I will not go back. read more

I am always pleasantly surprised by the low prices when you consider the superior quality of work - as long as Chau's is open, I will take any item needing alteration to them. Took a pair of men's pants in to get hemmed. Quickly measured and I was out of there so great customer service. It was a 6 day turn, but I was not in a rush so worked perfect. $9 total. Great deal! I liked the break in the back of the pant leg, but wasn't thrilled with the break in the front (seemed like too much break when standing). I know it's hard to make the break different in front vs back so I give them some credit. Overall 4 stars but I feel like they would generally do 5 star work on simple requests. The lady was really sweet and they were reasonably priced. And luckily, they rushed my order. I had a bridesmaid dress that I needed altered. I dropped it off on a Friday and it was ready on Tuesday. I was in a hurry so I didn't try it on again before leaving with it, huge mistake. I paid them $30 to hem it and am certain they did nothing. My dress was just as long at the wedding as the day I took it in to have it altered. I was tripping over it all day, even in my heels. So just make sure if you're going to take anything here that you try it on again when you pick it up. They were really busy and clearly didn't have time to get to my dress. I would rather they would have just said so, I could have had someone else pick it up a few days later if it meant actually getting the dress hemmed. read more

I bought my dress at davids bridal and it was too small because I thought I would lose enough well i did lose some but not enough! so went here and needed it made bigger and the ladies were amazing so nice and knew exactly what they were doing. it costed $80 to be taken out and to be hemmed the bottom was tulle and such so i was expecting 150+ so I was so excited it was only $80! thanks ladies! read more

I brought a bridesmaid dress here for some tailoring & they did a great job! I'd been going to a different alterations place in town, but felt this dress was too important & my gut told me to go elsewhere, so I landed at Chau's. I was nervous about dropping off the dress at a place I hadn't been before, but another customer that was there couldn't stop raving about their service. The price was right too. They listened to what I needed to have done & executed it perfectly. They even talked me out of minor alterations on the dress that would have cost a lot more & weren't necessary to make it look any better. Also, the turn around time was fantastic! They didn't get 5 stars not due to their work, but when I asked if they had a refund policy (if they royally messed up), she was definitely offended & the attitude showed in her body language. If it wasn't for the other customer raving about her, I might not have left my dress there due to her response to what I thought was a simple & honest question. Just so you know, they didn't have a policy to guarantee their work. ;) However, I don't worry about dropping off my garments here anymore since they did an awesome job! Once we got over that question & I chose to do business with them, they have been nothing but friendly towards me. read more
