I come to Chatime regularly, it's one of my go-to spots for bubble tea. I usually get the Pearl Milk Tea, and it's consistently solid: creamy, not too sweet, and the pearls are fresh and chewy every time. It's a comforting classic that never gets old. I recently tried the Mango Cheese Tart, and it was a nice surprise. The mango flavour was light and refreshing, with a soft, creamy texture and just a hint of cheese. Been here a handful of times, absolutely love how they have a Chatime at this location which is very convenient. It's located in a big plaza with plenty of parking spots. They have a few tables available if you're looking to sit in and have a drink. They are pretty generous with the amount of toppings - I find it's better than getting Chatime in the malls. My oldest has recently been wanting everything boba. This location is walking distance for us and my oldest wanted to try out their drinks. After 3-4 visits, I have to say I am not overly impressed by the service. Every time my daughter and her friends order, they are always rushed and not given the chance to speak up and customize their drinks. Not customer friendly on the few visits they have been there. On one visit, I waited in the car and my daughter went in with her friends. She went in with a $20 bill and ordered 1 drink that came to $8.20 and she was handed back $1.80. $10 was missing from her change that she was supposed to get back. She checked her change and her receipt and turned right around to let the gentleman know that the change was incorrect and he offered no apology and handed her 2 fives. Imagine if she had not checked her change, imagine how many other kids have experienced the same... She then went back again this past weekend. Rushed to order once again and the store was not even busy. I watched from the car in disbelief as she tried to communicate while ordering but the person at the counter walked off to make her drink. The only reason I even gave them 2 stars was because my daughter actually loves their drinks. They have a great selection of bubble tea smoothies, milk tea drinks and baked goods. As of late, I am enjoying finding Chatime locations that I've never been to. Roughly two years ago, I had a day off during the weekday and came here. Sadly, the store was closed for an emergency. I have flagged coming here, but am in this area once every couple of weeks. While heading home from doing my usual grocery run last Wednesday in Whitchurch-Stouffville, I saw this Chatime and made a hard right turn to drop by. I needed bubble tea! Last Wednesday, I was here at around 6:45 pm. It was super quiet. I backed into a parking spot and walked into the store. Like with most Chatime stores, indoor seating and the washrooms are unavailable during this pandemic. There were two staff members behind the counter. Both were so helpful and nice. I got two drinks, which is my usual quantity these days from any bubble tea store: - Peachy hallow (it was the last day to order from the Halloween menu) - Thai milk tea (tea of the month for November) I got both with less sugar. I got my usual less ice with peachy hallow, but went regular ice with the Thai milk tea. Debit and credit card options are accepted here. I paid using my debit card and all was well. I waited patiently for my drinks. An Uber Eats delivery man dropped by to pick up an order. The woman asked me if I needed a bag. I said yes. She put my drinks in one and wished me a great evening. I thanked her and left. When I got home, I had the peachy hallow tea first. It's essentially peach and blood orange green tea. It contains peach Red Bull (my first experience with Red Bull because I seem to be fine energy-wise, but wanted to try this drink out) and activated charcoal. I loved it. I loved how the peachy and blood orange flavours complimented each other. I didn't bounce off the wall full of energy after drinking it, but I felt fine afterwards. I seriously didn't notice a different, despite having a rather busy workday in which an energy boost would have been good. I had the Thai milk tea the following day. I have always loved the strength of black tea that this tea has. It's fragrant, creamy, and perfect. I first had it when it was the TOTM perhaps a year ago. I'm glad that it has returned. I came to this location because it was in the area of my weekend errands. There appeared to be quite a line but it was because you go in to order, grab you're receipt with a number, and wait outside where there's a light board displaying the numbers that are ready. Really liked this as it allowed social distancing and prevented crowding! Service was friendly and efficient for ordering, and drink prep was also quite speedy. End result: my drink was made as requested (i.e. the chocolate malt milk tea (TOTM) with 30% sugar, less ice, add tapioca). Update on 01-20-23: I think this place deserves an updated review. The quality of their drinks has consistently improved. The tapioca is cooked well & the texture is wonderfully chewy. There is only a hint of sweetness in my milk tea when ordered with no sugar which is from the tapioca. I've been really enjoying my drinks from here. Keep up the great work! It's nice to have a Chatime so close but this location has been trouble since day one. Slowest to fulfill orders & experienced incorrect orders a few too many times. Today I walked in to order, got home & realized my order was incorrect (asked for roasted milk tea but got just milk tea). I don't fully blame it on the kind man that took my order. It's hard with the loud music & with the plexiglass between us due to Covid. I should of looked to ensure he heard me & inputted the order correctly. My biggest issue was that I got no sugar as always & it was like 100% sugar. This has happened before & it's just astounding how it's so inconsistent... makes me think is this really no sugar as the label says? Great little Chatime in this plaza. There's lots of parking available since it's part of a bigger complex. We didn't really want to stand in line so we ordered online from our car. We were quoted a wait time of 15 minutes per the website. I went in when it was ready. They have the store set up so that you can line up socially distanced to order. Since I was just grabbing pickup, I didn't have to line up. The cashier was really good about noticing walk-ins and was able to juggle helping people picking up online orders and serving those that were in the store. I did really like that they kept the ready to-go orders behind the counter with them so other customers weren't rifling through orders to find theirs. They confirmed my order name with me and I was good to go. I had the seasonal special Guava Lava drink at 80% sugar. I added passionfruit jelly to this. It was insanely refreshing and super pretty to look at. The passionfruit is very unlike the coconut jelly. It reminds me more of a very soft Jello type texture. One of them used to work at the Scarborough location and I never liked her because she has an attitude and she is very slow too. One time, she was busy chit chatting while this other employee was obviously overwhelmed by all the orders. I love this new location because it's much less crowded than the other Chatimes. Every time I've went, there are a lot of people sitting down at the tables but I've never had to wait in a long line like I have for other locations. The staff are friendly and patient for the most part. I also think this location is cleaner than the others. My go to's are the the Roasted Milk Tea or the Earl Grey Milk Tea. We also got to try the new Ruby Black Milk Tea and it was delicious! Favourite topping has got to be pudding. I love the smooth texture of it and it has its own unique taste. read more

The variety of drinks and snacks here are great. The location is convenient, in a busy plaza. However, I've been noticing some inconsistencies with the sugar levels when ordering drinks. I normally like it less sweet, so I would order 30%. The last few times that i visited this location, some drinks are a lot sweeter than others. The staff is also changing, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. The set up of the store is also inefficient. Once a line up is formed, it is formed all the way to the back towards the washroom. Between the line and the seating area, there arent much space to walk through. So for people that may want to go to the washroom or just look at the menu, (infront of the line) their space is very limited, so it would be difficult going through. The customer service at this location is atrocious. It's unfortunate that it's the only one in the area because my wife really loves the drinks the serve. Today was a new horror. I was the only person in line and the cashier explained to me that it will take roughly 1-2 hours before I could get my drink. How is this possible? They are currently offering a special when you order a minimum of two drinks you get a third free when you order online. They are sooo backed up with online orders that even the online orders are taking hours to receive. Don't bother visiting this location or even purchasing an online order, it will only leave you disappointed. A couple things - this plaza is not very accessible but if you live in the area a quick drive or walk is no problem. It's quite small and it seems they are a bit understaffed. I was second in line and waited 5 minutes to even place my order because they only had two people working on a weekday after school - one making drinks, one taking orders (and sometimes working with the drinks too). I'm not sure how peak hours are here if they couldn't seem to handle weekday traffic. Pro: Very instagrammable neon light sign with cool wall. Con: tapioca was a bit undercooked. Staffing is an important aspect because recently it's clear that their target audience has become students and not just those who are Asian. The tables were all full with students and their laptops out. Walk into a Chatime and you'll see young high school and university students of all ethnicities so they've been pretty successful at their marketing. The Scarborough location is full on a regular basis but there are at least 3 people working at a time and they are very efficient even with huge lines. There a couple schools close to this Chatime so perhaps they should consider hiring another person to meet demand during certain hours. As a general comment I find Chatime's drink offerings to be more expensive than they are worth these days especially after the price raise. It's just not worth six dollars a drink. The drinks are too sweet and when you ask for less sugar the other ingredients come through and you realize that the amount or strength of the tea they use is near tasteless. I used to have Chatime regularly but I find I don't like it anymore compared to other options like The Alley which I used to think was expensive but sadly is on par price-wise with every other place out there now. read more

So if somebody places an order for 12 drinks WHILE she's in the store, their order is prioritized over everyone else who's already placed their order and paid? People are now standing around waiting for someone who ordered AFTER them. This system makes no sense. Orders should be prioritized and made based on the time they're placed to ensure fairness and efficiency. A mobile order created while someone is in the store should NOT take precedent over customers who've already paid and are waiting. I was here yesterday after going through a week of bbt deprivation and practicing social distancing. I picked Chatime because they kept sending me texts and emails saying they're taking precautions and sanitary measures to mitigate the spread of the virus. But no, not at this location. This place was busy and short-staffed as usual. All of the staff members were wearing masks and gloves, but only to protect themselves and not the customers. I witnessed 2 transactions before me where the cashier handled cash and did not change / sanitize her gloves before sealing the drinks, handing out straws, and bagging drinks for large orders. Chatime is a staple bubble tea place that sets the standard for yummy drinks across the town. This location is specifically my favourite because of the welcoming staff and the funky tunes! The tapioca is always chewy and perfectly drenched in sugar water. I can tell that each ball is perfectly crafted with love. Also, the ice at this location is extremely crunchy and refreshing, unlike any that I have ever licked in the past. I like the gangster music at this location. It makes me feel cool and right when I pick up my bubble tea, I strut out of that place like a diva and skrrt skrrt with ma drink. Thank you Chatime for giving me this opportunity to feel like a cool girl. I would like to give a special shoutout to one of the staff at Chatime. She is extremely welcoming and friendly and always makes me feel at home. She knows the menu very thoroughly but sometimes her hands shake when I place my order. I guess she is nervous. The classic Millie crepe cake and the chocolate Earl Grey crepe cake. It came in the cutest red and white box that folded down like a blooming flower ha. I'm not one to get Earl Grey flavoured foods but my friend wanted to split so. I was scared it would taste too tea-y?? but it was a really light Earl Grey flavour that rly added to the whole chocolate crepe cake. Pretty upset about the customer service. I ordered a earl grey milk tea ( $4.7) but I got charged for ( $5 plus tax). I talked to the cashier lady about the overcharged. Wow. Just wow. I usually love bubble tea and have been going to Chatime for years. I was so excited when they opened this location at Castlemore and Markham Rd back then. Used to love the roasted milk tea and then the red bean matcha milk tea but recently, it's been tasting watered down whatever location I go to. Switched to passionfruit green tea because there's no way you can screw that one up, right? Apparently it's possible. I took a sip and wondered why it wasn't sour at all. Looked in the cup. Where were all the passionfruit seeds? They left out the syrup entirely. So they basically gave me plain green tea with tapioca. I'm glad that Chatime has made its way to the East end of Markham but I found that it was very average compared to its related stores in the Markham area. This one fell short and honestly I cannot pinpoint to what exactly is different. The final product of the Roasted Milk tea with grass jelly that I always got just tasted different with a hint of coffee? Something different but I was not a fan. Perhaps it just takes some time for the new baristas to maintain its consistency with the other stores. I will return though, I always believe things require time to perfect. read more
