A few months ago, Yelp GTA (that's me) hosted a fun-filled event that took guests back in time to the 80s. But the event is not the focus of the review, the focus is the venue. Now as I mentioned you might not know it's here as it's located in a sort of hidden portion of the Schwartz-Reisman Centre. But now as you read this review, know that the juice (this venue) is totally and completely worth the squeeze (the search). The doors from the main center open up to wide hall, large enough to host an event if so required, lined with doors leading to multiple event spaces, washrooms and access to the outside garden/terrace area. The first room on the left is called the brides suite which is more of a small meeting space, following this you have 2 similar sized rooms for about 100 people, and then the piece de la resistance the grand ballroom space which can hold approximately 300. If you have a larger than normal function, a tracked door can be removed between every room (save for the brides suite) and 3 rooms become one massive L-shaped hall. We utilized the entire space for out event and it really made for an impressive venue. Other perks with this venue, coat check, a totally secure building, and free underground parking (when your event is in the middle of the winter). The one drawback for people not practicing the Jewish faith is that the venue is 100% Kosher compliant, and because of that what you bring in is limited and restricted. With that said they have a full (actually 2) kitchen(s) that produce amazing, delicious food that you wouldn't know was kosher or otherwise. For a wedding, business summit or conference, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or other special occasion, this is THE newest and most elegant hall in York Region. Don't believe me? Come check it out for yourself - it WILL blow your mind!

I was fortunate to attend a Yelp Event here. The underground parking lot is really spacious which I prefer than parking at the ground level outdoor lot. The main event room is large enough for a stage setup or as a wedding venue. The staff working here is professional and pleasant. Leo & Sala Goldhar also has it's own catering facilities as they provided most of the food and non alcoholic beverage for the event. Chocolate fountain was impressive! Thanks so much for a memorable evening!

Overall good vibe,…read more We signed up for guest list the morning of, so our cover was only $5 since we went before 11:30 PM (P.S you don't get a confirmation for the guest list, just sign up before the 9:30 PM deadline and you're pretty much on) The security at the front do a super thorough body check so at least your know the place is kept safe. Music was good, bathrooms were clean, but god damn, the reason for my 2/5 rating is because of the DJ. Let's just call him...10 second switch! Because that's right, 10 seconds after they start planning a song and you realize what the song is...BAM! Change of song! And while you might think that fast switches make for a solid variety of music, it ends up just giving you a headache. You can never really dance or sing to any of the songs because they kept switching so fast. Although the music was decent, this factor was kinda annoying and caused us head out early and just call it a night. I might return one day since everything else about the club was great, here's just hoping they have a new DJ by then...

My sister, her friend and I all agreed that it was the right choice to leave the club after 30 minutes. The club was upscale with the 2 weird gold statues and palm trees. The lightings and sound system were okay. NYE: The crowd was young and wild (it's nice to put it that way). Honestly, it was filled with people who just finally reached their legal age of drinking and alcoholics. It also had few butt-grabbing lovers and pervs. A guy held me up despite the fact that I tried hard to push him away and my sister's friends had to ruthlessly asking him to put me down. I was pissed because the bouncers didn't do anything about it. TWICE! THAT GUY CAME BACK TWICE AND THE BOUNCERS IGNORE IT!!!! The club was filled with drunk people as well. They were drunk, they didn't know what they were doing and again the bouncers just ignored them. They fell on the floor multiple times, stepped on my shoes, stole my NY hat and my glow sticks. The floor was wet and sticky. Broken glasses everywhere because someone decided to just throw their shot glasses there. The DJ was good tho! Second time I came back here: No, the music was just....slow and boring. I think it was for grinding lovers. Grinders were everywhere: at the booths, close to the pole, next to the statues.. everywhere! I ordered Jägerbomb and the bartender gave me Jack bomb which was really nasty (not a fan of Jack Daniel's) A convenient place if you decide to have some fun after a movie or Dave & Buster's but for sure you will have better experience with club scene downtown. Free parking tho:) But I'd rather go downtown, pay for a parking spot, and pay same price (or even cheaper) for cover, music, and drinks.

Located just near Thornhill village this historic home, now looked after by the City of Markham is a hidden gem (if gems were the size of plantation style homes that is). It's a massive estate which has been carefully kept up over the years and adjusted slightly to accommodate events (such as parking out back) within it's sturdy original walls (I've seen them, the walls are made of hardened mud and straw - THAT's how old we're talking) - they LITERALLY DO NOT make them like this anymore. My fixation with it's structural integrity aside, what I really marveled at was the house itself. Large rooms on the main floor filled with natural light, fixtures carefully handcrafted abound and no expense spared on it's creation. I could gab on and on about how great this place looks and I'm sure you might yawn and say, "OK Kris, tell us about some food now, we're bored." To which I would respond by saying "Nay, Nay, wouldn't you rather hear about how the Heintzman House is haunted?" Some might find this fact absurd, others immediately turned off, but I'm sure a vast majority of you are thinking... coooooollll! So was I, so I'll wrap things up here and leave your curiosity piqued, I recommend you take a tour of this house when you have a moment and if you're booking a wedding or corporate function this might just be the place for you!
