Teri Leese What can…read moreI say about my recent experience at The Factory Lounge? [TLDR] - Candidly, I would not spend your hard earned money here unless you want to partake in a venue run by egregious management and staff who are seemingly hardwired to distrust their customers and patrons. For the sake of garnering some perspective, I logged into Google Reviews to see what everyone else have got to say about the establishment. I was very surprised to read the comments and many of which were very consistent to my previous experience at The Factory Lounge - uncommunicative staff, subpar customer service, and patrons faced with hostility at the liquor bar. Prior to arriving at the venue, I visited the company website. In the 'What are we all about' section it states "At The Factory Lounge it's all about the party and we know how to throw the best party in town! We pride ourselves in paying attention to every last detail and we will create a memorable and distinctive event you will never forget." Bona fide clients who choose to use this venue based on the mission statement will surely be let down because: A)The Factory Lounge really doesn't know how to throw a party - the bar staff was underperforming their duties and crutching on excuses to deter paying customers B)There was no attention to detail because the head manager/owner was too busy arguing with people C)They claim to be the best party in town yet there is no substance. Customer satisfaction is far and few between. Albeit, I do agree with one part of their mission statement about creating an unforgettable event. Only I would put it a bit differently, the most unforgettable thing about the event was the constant tarnishing and arguing done by the lousy team working that night. When I asked to speak directly with the operating manager to rectify some issues surrounding the liquor agreement, I was dumbfounded because I was looking right at her: Teri Leese (Owner, Operator, Coordinator). She has been running this business for over 7 years. I am astonished by her uncooperative demeanor for someone with such tenure. Teri had reigned over the bar staff to disadvantage their customers, she was mostly unapproachable, she was disrespectful towards our party members - just to give you some perspective. Having read this review, I urge you to reconsider choosing The Factory Lounge as your primary venue for any event. You could be faced with regret, disgruntled guests, and an unforgettably bad experience.

Richmond Hill Country Club - Gorgeous venue for by BFF's wedding!

Downstairs is the recreation clubhouse where members can swim, play tennis, and do other leisure activities. There were 4 major rooms in the venue: Bridal changing room - a huge room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready and keep all the belongings here for safety. Ceremony room - super high ceiling, perfect for the wedding ceremony. The venue uses beautiful champagne chiavari chairs. It has an upstairs balcony in the front for great aerial shots, a mini stage, and a small table on the side for signing official documents. Functional room - after the ceremony, we were led to another room for cocktail hour x open bar! The venue staff were serving us delicious h'orderves! I believe my friend picked the most popular 6 items on the list of appetizers and one of them was a Montreal smoked meat station!! #heaven #sogood Main Reception/Banquet Hall - Gorgeous room with lots of windows for natural light :) Fits perfectly if you have 200 guests or so. Although there are pillars but no obstructed view of the centre stage :) The view from the large L shape balcony was very beautiful. We had Chinese styled 10 course meal prepared by Chef from the venue. Not bad :) Two bars opened during the night; all you can drink! The bartender we had on our side was fantastic - he was fast, personable and very funny ;) Another friend of mine actually booked this wedding venue for next year... I guess that really says a lot :) Will be back again next Fall 2018! P.S. The only con was one of my friend's car had a hit and run at the venue's parking lot. The venue was unable to catch who the culprit was -_-"

Large ceremony room, beautiful gold chairs, great lighting for photos, wonderful service and coordinator, and a great price made the decision really easy. The outside space is just as lovely but our guests stayed indoors as it was hot. We just took some photos outside and had we had the ceremony outside, they had a rain room just in case. The bridal suite was lovely and enough space for me and the girls to get ready. I highly recommend Lino and the team.

Perfect wedding! Best vendor of the day! Can't believe they only have a two star rating for now…read more Had my wedding here last year and Grand Luxe was the best vendor on my list. Marzia helped us from the beginning to the end to plan out our best day ever. They helped us create a customized Asian fusion menu that tasted delicious! The food was cooked well and plated beautifully and was praised by all my guests. The portions were big and everyone was full! The venue comes with beautiful chivari chairs and we didn't have to pay more to rent our own chairs. The hall was nice and elegant with a beautiful bar. Bartenders were friendly and can do some fire tricks. Some of the walls had curtains and can be beautifully highlighted with uplighting. They offer white and black table linen but we decided to get our own silver linen which brightened up the place. They also offer their own picture frames as table numbers. Our head table was placed on a riser and they have projectors and screens for any video or slideshows. You need to bring in your own sound system. They have a podium and mic for speeches and a cake table as well. Marzia was flexible and accommodating with everything. They offered different size tables to allow better arrangement of the guest seatings. Was also able to accommodate guests that didn't RSVP! They have a variety of appetizers to be served outside the main hall and that area is beautifully decorated with chairs, mirrors, curtains and a floating bar for cocktail hour and desserts. Can arrange the tables however you like, we had a round table for place cards and also arranged our own candy buffet outside. They offer a signature drink of your choice which was pretty cool! They have a piano you can use in the cocktail area. They helped us arrange our special entrance into the dining hall that night. The food was delicious and they had special servers to serve the head table. Marzia and Justin were with us the whole night to make sure everything was smooth and timely. Asking us if the food and the temperature of the hall was alright. Overall we had a wonderful experience with Grand Luxe and we didn't really have anything bad to say about them. They were able to customize for us and cater to what we had wanted. Our guests also thought the service was superb. The dessert table was little bit lacking in the quality but that's a minor thing. The hall might not seem as Luxe as some downtown venues but can easily be fixed by bringing in your own decorator. But the service was definitely Luxe and better than a lot of those downtown locations. They have limited parking space but guests can also park on the street behind the venue which is pretty good considering many venues don't offer free parking.

Bayview Golf & Country Club - Short ribs for an alumni lunch. Easily the best cut of beef I have ever had.

Really late review but I attended a wedding here previously…read more Venue was decent. Food was OK, unsure if it was from a caterer or not but management or people claiming to be management really need more training. Tried to find water for a senior attending the wedding who was thirsty and was met with some rudeness - apparently the area of the venue wasn't open to the wedding. OK sure, I didn't see any signs saying that but but I politely asked if there was anywhere I could purchase some water at the venue and was just told that the area of the venue wasn't open to the wedding. I've been to weddings at Hamilton and St George's and neither acted like first class jackasses. The staff were always polite and helpful. I wish I could say the same for this place.

Throughout the night we had servers walking around asking if our plates were done and etc. I thought it was normal after I told them few times that I wasnt done because there was still a lot of food on my plate. We were all chatting, so obviously we had to stop. The servers just kept on asking, which kinda bothered me. Before the speeches started, they gave us sparkling wine. About 15 mins into the speeches, servers started taking away the sparkling wine glasses and we all found it odd because speeches were still going on and they didnt ask us if we were done. None of us had a sip so it was a waste! We ended up using water and white wine for toasting. It was only around 9:30, so they made it seem like they wanted to kick us out badly. Dessert table went by fast and when we asked if there was more coming out, they said yes. 30 mins later, still nothing. The ravioli was probably the best thing ever.
