I'm so glad I came here for their Wedding Open House tonight. Beautiful, cozy, cottage-like venue with lots of food going around, free drinks (one free alcoholic drink!), and talented entertainers. Best of all, I get to meet and talk to many knowledgeable and very helpful wedding vendors - from decor to DJs, and limo rentals to circus performers! Every bride-to-be should definitely come here, you will learn so much during this event! Fantasy Farm offers two very unique banquet rooms. It would be ideal if you're having a smaller wedding. The "Cottage" can hold roughly 100 people. It is accompanied by a beautiful pond and a deck where you can host a small wedding ceremony. It looks absolutely amazing during the warmer seasons with full bloom flowers all around! There is also an indoor fireplace where they can make your winter event warm and toasty! The "Make Believe Ballroom" is gorgeous. It can hold roughly 200 people with a nice bar and a HUGE outdoor grill! I've been to a wedding here last September and I absolutely loved it :D The outdoor BBQ during the wedding recpetion was a very nice touch. We had a delicious 4 course meal with salad, lasagna, grilled entree and dessert. Guests were able to walk outside to get their grilled steak/chicken/salmon entree with unlimited seasoned veggies and potatoes. This was probably the best wedding venue I have ever been to - simple yet elegant. Food was excellent, portions were huge, and open bar service was quick and courteous! This is definitely a hidden gem for hosting your special events in Toronto! Unfortunately, there is no way I can cut down from 300 guests to 200... and so, the search continues! read more

This is such a beautiful and unique venue. We came to Fantasy Farm for a wedding vanue consultation and was impressed with the site and the friendly coordinator and service we received. The dinner pricing and package was reasonable too and they offer outdoor BBQ! How cool is that? We did not end up having it at the venue though because we were afraid of mosquitos since the venue is surrounded by lush greenery and we have guests who are very picky about outdoor venues. I still want to recommend this place though because I think it's just lovely and if you're a bride who don't mind nature and all that comes with it, this might be for you. read more

After looking at 15 places in the GTA for our perfect wedding venue, when we finally visited Fantasy Farm, I knew this was it. Nestled in the heart of downtown, off the Don Valley Parkway, it's hidden away in almost a forest, in a myriad of greenery with flowers and weeping willow trees everywhere. For someone that loves nature and the want a beautiful outdoor ceremony, look no further. We had our ceremony in the Back Garden, on top of a rock landing, with a bubbling stream in the background. This is not your cookie cutter wedding venue, and it was perfect for us. Under new ownership, they renovated their medieval themed ballroom (which was liked too!) into a modern and elegant design. The Main Ballroom doesn't need a lot of decoration if you want something simple (we didn't have) but you can also add lots to it as well. Our favourite part of the venue, is that there are so many picturesque points that you do not need to go to another place for your wedding photos. I'm sad that we didn't have more time here for photos! On the wedding day and leading up to it, we dealt with the owner Jeremy - which I highly suggest you do. During the entire process, from the sell to the week before, we would get inconsistent messages from the other employees, and responiveness was not always there. As a person who needs to know exactly what needs to happen and when, who wants to plan out the details asap - he was not helpful in this respect. I was never at ease before and after meeting with him as I was unsure what will happen next, and if he understood our requests. I understand that he deals with lots of wedding couples, but I would think that there would an effort (or pretend) that we were remembered. We told him 3 times about our schedule and details, and when It got transferred to Jeremy we had to over it again a 3rd time. When we asked (the week before) about cake cutting and we were told that it would be $1.50 per slice or guests would need to cut the cake themselves. Appalled, we asked Jeremy again, who, without hesitation, says that it would be done - and on the day did it himself. Food was very good. We got the charcoal bbq option which our guests loved. Unfortunately during our tasting, I wasn't sure. My family and I got wilted and brown tipped leaves in our salad, the appetizers were dry and over cooked, the tomatoes were not fresh. When confronted about it, the coordinator was taken aback and insisted everything was fresh - but my dad would take none of this nonesense. This is just one of many instances during the planning. As for the price, it's really good for somewhere in the city. The Open Bar option per person was one of the cheapest we saw. This place is built for weddings, not the other way around. On the day, and during the rehearsal, he was on site at all times. It was because of Jeremy on the day, the event went smoothly and any hiccups was easily recovered. I couldn't have asked for more, and I thank you. read more

Just had my wedding at this place. Super affordable vs. Banquet halls. Good food. Most of its fresh and our mains were in a fresh BBQ style on the outside deck by the pond. It was beautiful. Kind of like going to a cottage. For people complaining its dated and blah blah blah. The place is like 100 years old. Why would you expect a rustic place like this to be renovated like a banquet hall? Unreasonable expectations. Jeremy was great. Gus was great. They really care and they dont treat you like a number. if you want something people will remember then have your wedding here. If you want the norm, go to a banquet hall. read more

I got married here in August 2019 and could not have been happier with the venue! It looked so much better on the day of than when I went to tour it previously. The staff were a joy to work with and so organized on the day of. We also had some thunderstorms rolling through on our wedding day, and the staff did an excellent job of monitoring the rain and even setting up for an indoor ceremony in case our outdoor ceremony got rained on. We ended up still being able to have it outdoors, but it was nice to have the peace of mind that in case it did rain at the last minute, the indoor space was already set up for us. The food was great, the ballroom very spacious for our group of 130, and the outdoor balcony was a great space for our guests to get a breath of fresh air or hang out away from the dance floor. Would 100% recommend. read more

We had our wedding at Fantasy Farm this past Friday night (Aug 5th 2011) and we couldn't have been happier with how our big day turned out. We had our ceremony outside and fortunately the weather was amazing. We had never heard of Fantasy farm before finding it on line in a google search and we were amazed at the beauty of the grounds that they have. It really feels as if you are in the country but you are in the Don Valley. We decided to go with the bbq option for dinner and the salmon, chicken and steak were all delicious. Everybody had plenty to eat, nobody left hungry. Gus and Jeremy had plenty of advice on how to run a successful ceremony and everything went according to plan. If you are looking for a big box banquet hall type of place then this is place is not for you, however if you want a smaller more intimate setting with beautiful grounds and delicious food, then I would recommend fantasy farm. read more

If you ever wanted to marry in Cinderella's castle, Fantasy Farms is your best alternative this side of the Rhineland. The event space is nestled in the Don Valley conservation area, near the Brickworks. Unless you notice the horse statues at the gate, it's an easy place to miss as you zip along Pottery Road. It's been known as 'the celebration place' since 1943 (news to this born and bred Torontonian) with two main rooms: the Cinderella Cottage and the Medieval Ballroom. There are private patios, fountains, lots of green space where wildlife are known to mix with the guests. There are plenty of photo opportunities, however I didn't get to take advantage of this. I was hired to shoot my friends' wedding. Both the ceremony and reception were held in Cinderella's Cottage. It's a quaint space; large enough to hold 75 guests with access to a large private patio. The decor, well, it's a bit dated with thick stucco ceilings and walls, and stained glass windows depicting Medieval characters. But it does have a certain charm to it, which suited my friends' sense of humour perfectively. On the day of the wedding we were not blessed with great weather, as it rained all day long. The patio was too wet and slippery to organize any photo opportunities. From a photographer's perspective, the interior was too dark and we had very limited places to do the post-ceremony pictures of the bride and groom. However, you're given the hands that you're dealt with, and luckily I was prepared enough for any situation, so we had great shots in the end. Since banquet halls are a bit hit and miss for their food, I have to say that the food was quite good here. I had chosen sirloin steak as my meal preference. Originally I was given one that was over-cooked. I mentioned this to one of their servers, which was replaced, no questions asked by just seared sirloin steak. It was delicious. In fact, their appetizers, their veggies and their desserts were all delicious and flavourful. I'm not certain about the rest of the attendees but everyone at my table did not leave a single morsel on our plates. I think Fantasy Farms is nice alternative from the typical, cookie-cutter type banquet halls, where the majority of wedding receptions I've attended were held. Despite enjoying a great meal and having an excellent time celebrating my friends' big day, I'm giving my review 3 stars, in fact, a 3 and a half stars. I found the interior to be poorly lit and while the venue had no control over the rain, I couldn't enjoy the beautiful green spaces to do my job. However I do think it deserves to be given more than just an 'A-OK' rating. It's quaint space and a part of our city's history, so let's all celebrate there more often. read more

Just attended a wedding the "cottage room" of FF. The staff at FF are phenomenal. Whatever issues some people may have with the aesthetic of the event space becomes some incredibly redundant, when you consider the location, staff, warmth and overall setup of the place is just so enjoyable. read more

I attended a wedding here this past July. They decided to do an outdoor ceremony, and if you are looking for the same sort of thing this is a good place. They have have lots of areas outdoors for photos and its just a good location overall if you would like a bit more of a nature side for you wedding. Now indoors is where this place loses the stars for me. The decor was very outdated with low ceilings. Glass colored windows really did not match with the brown tiles, it looked like the decor inside had been done with whatever they could find on sale. The food, to my surprise was delish, great portion sizes and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Be advised, this place has the smallest washroom ever seen in any location, at any time. You have to close one door to open the other, that's how much space there really is. read more

I booked my wedding only a few months in advance for the winter. The grounds look beautiful when I booked it (since it was still summer time) but I was worried that for the winter it would not look pretty, but boy I was wrong, it looked gorgeous specially with the snow that we got on the special day. The site planner and management were as helpful as possible. I did my research before going there and I found out that the place has a new management team, I gotta say that this new team will do anything they can to make you happy, and I believe they were successful to make me happy and keeping me happy on my day. They even gave us a very good discount on the room fee since we booked for the low season winter time. I must confess that the place may look a bit out-dated but it certainly has a charm to it, I didn't mind some of these issues that other reviewers mentioned since they made up for it by giving us a exceptional service. The food is really great for a banquet hall and everyone in our party enjoyed it very much. I would certainly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for an alternative to all those boring banquet hall out there, it is a different place compare to regular monstrous banquet hall but if you can keep your party under 200 people you may find it suitable. I heard from management that the place will go through major renovation before the summer, my bad luck that I didn't have that for my ceremony. read more

My husband I and got married at FF in October and we loved everything about our experience here. We had our ceremony and reception in the cottage room by the fireplace. The venue was so beautiful and charming. The staff were incredible - in fact I'm still getting compliments on how wonderfully they treated our guests. Gus is amazing to work with and helped keep things on track leading up to the wedding. Jeremy is phenomenal. I couldn't have asked for a better day-of contact person to deal with. The food was terrific. They took care of guests with celiac, colitis, nut and dairy allergies with absolutely no issues. We really couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. read more

We had our vow renewal here for our 25 anniversary. We had planned an outdoor ceremony but mother nature decided that was not meant to be. The staff quickly turned our reception room over so we could have our ceremony inside and everything was perfect. Jeremy and Gus were there for us from the start to finish and we cannot thank them enough. Great food, great staff and great venue!! We would give them ten stars if we could!!! read more

My wedding ceremony happened to be outside right by DVP, so it was a little noisy, but the venue itself is very nice if you are an outdoorsy kind of person. The day of the wedding, I had to use a microphone which the staff forgot to connect to the speakers (some technical difficulties) and despite a bus arriving at the location during what was suppose to be my ceremony- luckily my wedding was a little late - the wedding was still fairly intimate and beautiful. One recommendation - they should really trim some of the plants in front of the ceremony area over by the stairs (area coming in Fantasy Farm) as some of the guests couldn't see much. As for the reception, I had mine in the cottage which was great and air conditioned! It really is a gem in the heart of Toronto. The food is very good (I had ordered the BBQ), the area is surrounded by trees, fountains, patios and some rustic carriages. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. One negative point - the bathrooms are tiny! But overall, a really good location, great price, with friendly people whom are willing to go out of the way to help you if needed. I would recommend it. read more

My wife and I got married here yesterday. I cannot recommend this place enough. A lot of wedding venues that we checked out before going with Fantasy Farm had all kinds of hidden fees. Our main contact there, Gus, was completely upfront about what we were paying and what we were getting for our money. Every single person we dealt with at the venue from Gus, to our wedding "director" the night of, Jeremy, was beyond great: accommodating, helpful, understanding and went above and beyond. The grounds were awesome with a thousand places to get photos, the terrace patio was great. Almost all of our guests cleaned their plates bare the food was so good. This place has been around for a very long time and there's a clear reason why. read more

Terrible over done steak without asking me first and refusing to replace it. Yuck!

My daughter had a wedding at Fantasy Farm on October 29, 2016. The location of Fantasy Farm is really convenient. The place is beautiful with many great photo opportunities. The bbq option for dinner is also a nice alternative to the usual sit-down arrangement. It also adds a nice atmosphere to the event as you can see the bbq fire from the inside, making the whole place feel warm and cozy. Gus was very helpful and had plenty of advice on how to run the ceremony. Brian who was setting up the tables was also immensely helpful and very accommodating - no ask was too big for him. Food was also very delicious. We had a bit of an issue with the late night table - the arrangement and top ups could have been handled better but the owner was very fair and once we let him know of the issue he didn't hesitate to deal with it in the most appropriate manner. Overall, my daughter walked away happy with the venue and I would recommend it to others as a nice alternative to the usual closed in wedding halls that can have a bit of a cookie-cutter feel to them. read more

Our experience at Fantasy Farm was incredible! We had our wedding there in August 2014 and our guests are still raving about it! The venue is breathtaking, with tons of spots to take pictures, and it's hard to believe that this oasis is so close to downtown Toronto and has free parking. We love nature so this venue gave us the chance to be in a beautiful location but still have all the amenities without having to buy extra permits or book extra vendors. Our food was delicious and the portions were large. Our guests enjoyed their meals and we kept getting compliments about the great food. But the best part of our experience at Fantasy Farm was working with their awesome team. Jeremy, Gus, Brian and the other professionals obviously love their jobs because it shows! They took the time to explain everything, and on the day of the wedding, they took care of all the little details. They let us set up early, cut our cake for us and moved our event from outside to inside (due to rain) without any problems. All of their work happened behind the scenes so my guests and I saw none of the stress! You can't get that kind of dedication at larger halls where you are just another couple. I couldn't be happier with the service and the venue. Plus, the prices are fantastic! Visit Fantasy Farm and book early! You'll be glad you did. read more

My husband and I got married here this winter and could not have asked for a better venue! It is truly an oasis in Toronto and a great spot for couples who are living in the city and are looking for a venue close by! Our guests were blown away by the space, it was an amazing winter wedding with views of the forest right outside the window. Everyone we worked with at Fantasy Farm (Gus, Jeremy, and Brian) were absolutely amazing and made sure the day went off without a hitch (which it did). Jeremy also walked us through the rehearsal and was our day of coordinator and was so helpful! We were able to set up the ceremony and reception decorations the day before, which made the day of the ceremony completely stress free. On the day of the wedding the bridal party was able to come into the bridal suite at noon and Brian brought us up coffee and tea. We had our ceremony and reception in the same room (the make believe ballroom). Although we were totally thrilled with the name of the venue or room, it was unbelievable beautiful and fit really well with our rustic theme. As for the food, we ordered the tomato feta fennel soup, chicken/salmon/or veg pasta and for dessert we had warm lava cake. During the tasting it was wonderful, but my husband and I were having too much fun on the actual day to eat, but we heard from guests that everything tasted good. We opted for a late night menu of poutine, which our guests loved. They were very helpful with the take down and let us leave anything that needed to be thrown away, verse asking us to take everything. The price is really what drew us to the location. It was the best we found in the Toronto area, 100% worth every penny! We couldn't have asked for a better day! read more

Had my wedding there, it's a beautiful venue, they offer a ceremony outdoors, but can be changed indoor due to weather changes. Lovely pond and other photo ops. Very professional, beautiful and accommodating. read more

I had my wedding ceremony and reception here this past weekend and it worked out beautifully. There were a few negatives but let me start off on a good note (I don't know what the reasoning behind the order of that is because leaving a review on a bad note would lead you to believe that overall, it was shit but maybe read the beginning again to make yourself feel better if you're thinking of booking this place. it'll be like watching a feel-good movie in reverse). The location of Fantasy Farm is really convenient, although riding a bike down pottery road can be challenging and terrifying. The grounds itself is beautiful. There are many good photo opportunities there (unless it's pissing down). If you're having a large wedding (125+), I would go with the "Make Believe Ballroom". quel fromage! we thought so at first and I have to admit, it was always difficult to say "we're getting married at Fantasy Farm" without snickering because it sounds like "Medieval Times" but everyone was pleasantly surprised when they saw the place on the day of the wedding. If you're having a large wedding ceremony outside, it's held at the front. They set up chairs and you have the choice of walking down stairs or entering from the parking lot. Naturally, I chose the stairs. The noise from the DVP wasn't too distracting. The bridal suite is what really sold us. It's magnificent. Red carpet, white stucco walls, a black hot tub in the floor, a bar that looks like it's out of an 80's porn, A-Ha looking portraits and a giant portrait of a persian cat on the wall. Wonderful! The "Make Believe Ballroom" was transformed into a really classy place! We had chair covers and yellow napkins to match the yellow flowers arrangements on the tables. Even though there's a moat and two armored knights, the place looked really elegant. My very-hard-to-please-mother even almost had tears brought to her dried up tear ducts because she was so happy with the look of the room. The food was plentiful. Everyone had way too much in fact. The wedding cake didn't even get touched. We ordered the combination plate (chicken/steak) and I think it was too much for the older folk. With the meal, you get salad, pasta, bruschetta, roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables, spanish rice and chicken/steak (or in the case of vegetarians, a stuffed pepper). Everyone really enjoyed the meal. I found it much better than some of the other meals I've had at weddings (usually, as a vegetarian, you get stuck with the leftover overcooked vegetables from the meat plates). The dishes were all brought out in a timely manner. The staff seemed pretty attentive (at least to the head table they were). As for the negatives now, we ordered hors d'oeuvres to have with cocktails and they forgot. They gave me a refund but friends have told me, it should've been much more. A few people told me the women's washrooms weren't maintained. There was no paper towels, no kleenex, one stall was out of order (for such a large wedding, that's a real nuisance) and the garbage was overflowing on to the floor. Some of the organizers are really rude. One lady harshly spoke to my mom on the phone . My mom told the lady who she was in relation to me. and she said "how do I know who you say you are". Yes, my mother's a russian spy who will sell all her knowledge about Fantasy Farm to the KGB. They were really rude to my photographer too who wanted to just see the grounds so he could get an idea of what kind of shots he could get. I didn't mean for this to go on this long but I know when I was looking for wedding halls, I wanted as much info as possible so hopefully this helps someone out! I would highly recommend this place overall! edited: I took out a couple lines. I actually just received a response just minutes after posting this and they've offered to compensate us by giving us gift certificates for a very expensive meal! He also said he would look into the bathroom situation as well. Good customer service from him but I know not all of them are that friendly! read more

I had my wedding at fantasy farm Aug 14 ,10. So I will start with the bad I booked with them two years before my wedding. So one day I called to talk to the girl I use to talk to . I fine out she is gone and they got new management . Okay but now every time I call I talk to someone different. And they ask me the same questions I just answered. Then one day I call to pick my hors d ouevres. And the guy tells me I can have the four they pick for me . But when I sign with them they told me I could pick witch ones I wanted. So I told him I don't want the one they picked . I want to pick from the list my self. So he said fine but I have to pay extra to do that and I said fine. Also he said well and you ard getting a great deal on your wedding. Well I did Not get a deal I told them what u wanted when I sign two years ago and that is what they gave me. Also I paid for a sweet table and got not even half of what there was support to be. There was more but just small stuff and I am tired. Besides that the food was good. The decor looked great . And I had a good wedding. read more

My only suggestion is speed up the courses took a little long. Good Job would strongly recommend Fatasy Farm for your special day. read more

We attended our friends' wedding in "Cinderella's Cottage" and it looked beautiful. However as the evening progressed my husband and I were burdened by the constant kid watch nesscessary at a Koi pond with no gaurd rail. We, and other guests, found it not at all kid-friendly (or alcohol-friendly, for the amounts some consume at gala events) with open water and trails without hand rails. It was beautiful, but don't let that fool you. The entire venue shares a tiny, two-stall "Queen's Room" located in the lobby with one sink and not enough head room to even stand up. No changing table to be found, nor room to assist with poty-training either. I suppose if one didn't want to wait, she could excuse herself and use the large port-a-poty just past the Koi pond. No idea about the King's Room. The appetizers were better than the meal itself, which we waited through a line, in the rain, at a large BBQ to recieve uncooked steak and mediocre chicken. The sidedish was chewy, grilled eggplant wrapped around too crunchy, under-seasoned, vegetables. Our chairs were so tightly sqeezed in that I managed one leg under the table and one around the high-chair, no elbow room and I was at the end. The place sure is pretty though... read more
