We came back again! This is our favorite place for Laguna Seca races: 8 minutes away from the race track entrance, very quiet (!) and remote, nestled into green park surroundings of a private gated community, but only 5-8 minute drive to downtown Salinas. We stayed two nights (FRI to SUN). The rooms are gorgeous and we always love the lush surroundings and serene vibe. The inn keepers are there to help, and after all the race noise and engine sounds it was fantastic to snuggle into bed at night with (free) popcorn and watch a movie after relaxing in the bubble bath. We will be back, for sure. read more

We stayed here for the SLH Sun Wind & Wine festival at Mer Soleil Vineyards and it was a good and convenient choice. We were pleased with our 2nd floor room. It was spacious and comfortable. As others have noted, the stairs are a bit steep but we had no issues with it. The downside of the property is that it feels quite impersonal. You check in like you would at an AirBnB rental. There is ostensibly an innkeeper on site but we never met (nor needed) them. There were also some difficulties getting our reservation payment process finalized. Even though we reserved via Booking.com, the property uses their own system and the information did not coordinate well. It took multiple messages back and forth with a remote service center before things got squared away. Knowing what i know now, I would just book direct if the rates aligned. BOTTOM LINE: A nice choice at a memorable but slightly quirky property. We would stay here again. read more

We've stayed here twice when visiting family, and both times were perfect for what we needed, i.e., a clean, quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced place to stay one or more nights. And it is within walking or a few minutes drive of their home. We did not need an on-site restaurant, bar, or any other accommodations, but for larger parties these are available. Even without an on-site manager, it was easy to get in and out as we needed. And when on this visit we inadvertently left behind a couple articles of clothing, their cleaning person found them, and we were notified immediately so that we could arrange to get them back. read more

So much potential here! Stayed for two nights in July as we were attending an event at Laguna Seca. The price and location to the raceway can't be beat. The chateau is an historic building located inside a residential neighborhood. We stayed in the penthouse which is on the top floor. The stairs are very narrow so I wouldn't recommend this room to anyone with mobility issues as it could pose a fall risk. The penthouse had a musty smell, not sure if new carpeting or fresh paint would help but it needs something. I noticed the soap dispenser in the bathroom was only half full which I found odd. The towels are extremely thin and no robes or slippers are provided. You are given a code to enter the chateau and we didn't see the innkeepers until check out. In fairness, they seem like lovely people. It would be nice to offer some sort of light breakfast and wine hour to utilize the cute space downstairs. We also wanted to sit outside but sadly the tables were extremely dirty so we climbed back upstairs to have a glass of wine in our room. The tv in the living room was not working either. Overall, if we were going to Laguna Seca we would come back for another stay. I think with a little TLC this place could be a real hidden gem. read more

We were looking for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite hotel in Salinas for one night on the way home from a long roadtrip and prices were crazy expensive elsewhere because it was a Friday. Searching Google, I randomly stumbled upon Chateau Coralini. There was a suite with exactly what we were looking for and the price was very reasonable by comparison. It sounded cool to stay in a historic mansion so we decided to take a chance and book it. The booking process was a little strange because we had to confirm payment through an email link after putting in all of our information, but it was easy enough to call and confirm that was what we were supposed to do. After that, the experience was very smooth. We liked having an entry code to our suite, but the inn's operator was also there to greet us when we arrived and was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay and even showed us around the mansion in the evening. It truly was a unique experience and the suite was great with both comfort and charm. It's an old place, but that gave it character we will never forget. The owner explained the difficulty getting approval for adding air conditioning since the hotel is on the historic registry, so until they get approval for that and install it I definitely wouldn't recommend staying there in the summer. But in October it was very comfortable and we will definitely stay there again if traveling through when the weather is appropriate. We were coming back from a very memorable trip and our night at Chateau Coralini was the perfect way to cap it off. read more

This Chateau is a fabulous quiet and beautifully maintained, location feels rural although close to shopping stores and restaurants. Inn keepers are friendly and helpful. Our family spend many days here and was able to enjoy the outside table to eat, where you are surrounded by roses hydrangeas and orchids just to name a few. I have stayed here a few times for business-related travel and my wife accompanied me the last time. I love the Coralini and my wife did as well. It's a charming old place, clean and up-to-date, in a residential neighborhood that makes it quiet and peaceful. The rooms are nicely appointed, have everything you need and there are complimentary beverages (coffee, tea, etc.) downstairs, as well as refrigerators as I recall. Check-in by remote is easy. It's a pleasant, short drive to Monterey, Carmel and other areas, and downtown Salinas is minutes away. I will be returning to the area in the future and will seek accommodations here first. read more

My family recently stayed here again. The first time I was by myself. I loved it so much I reserved a two bedroom suite for my family. It was a home run with everyone. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated for the time period. The shower's water pressure is spot on, unlike other places we've stayed. The ambiance with the fireplaces made it nice and cozy. The first day I was placed in a room that smelled of mildew in the bathroom, near the toilet. You could see water damage in the corner to the left of the toilet. The next morning, I called and complained, and was told someone would come talk to me. Knowing the building was old and had mildew and possible mold, I decided I was not going to stay, and took my luggage down stairs. I was then told you could place me in another room and I was assured there were no problems with this room. I had to go to a funereal so I hauled my luggage back upstairs, because the elevator was not functioning, and left the room at about 12:30. I returned later to the room at 8:39pm (see attached picture) only to find the room at 77 degrees. Very hot. The one window was open but the bathroom window was nailed down so it could not be opened to ventilate the room. When I spread the curtains apart in the bathroom window, to hopefully open it, dust and mold spores from the top of the window frame rained down on me. See the pictures. Mold was found on the top of both of the window panes. Needless to say, I did not sleep well my 2nd night in 77 degrees and by the morning, my eyes were very red and irritated, excessively tearing up, sneezing, and I was congested. I have an autoimmune disease so I Needed to get out of there. I left the property ending my 3 day stay on day 2. They did not charge me for day three but they did not credit me for any of the inconvenience or poor stay conditions I experienced. read more

My husband and I stayed here after a friends wedding nearby and not only was it one of the most affordable places in the area but it was so lovely and homey and quaint. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. We loved it here so much better than getting a hotel. The booking was super efficient and the area is beautiful. This is a property that you don't want to miss! We stayed for two nights and there are some many wonderful things I'd like to share: 1. The home is gorgeous. The entry way and overall esthetic is peaceful and inviting. 2. The new innkeepers were very attentive and gracious. Upon arrival, we were shown our room and amenities available to us. The innkeeper checked on us every evening and inquired about our needs, our day, and suggested things we could try. 3. The basement had a pool table and table tennis...in a very classy and well appointed wine cellar. 4. The bed was comfortable. The room was easily heated with the small space heater. Our linens were fresh. The bathroom was in great condition and well stocked. 5. Location was great. We had read other reviews and were slightly worried by people talking about mold. But, our fears were unwarranted, as the new owners have taken care of this 130 year old home. Noise wasn't a problem. We were encouraged to use the facilities as our own. Will def return! read more

I have to say, the Chateau Coralini is an excellent location to stay for some peace and quiet. The room is clean and the staff is incredibly attentive. MJ, the on-sight manager, was available and extremely helpful when we checked in late at night. MJ also was available when we had questions. The main entry and hotel room utilize keypad entry, each with its own code for security. The grounds are well lit and manicured. There are patio chairs and a gazebo. The Chateau parking area has a large fence and gate. The community where the Chateau Coralini is located, has a guard on duty. I am working in the Salinas area and found it's close to Carmel and Monterey. With great breakfast, lunch and dinner choices. Thank you and I hope I get to stay again soon. read more

We rented the guest house for two nights. It was a great space, very cute. I'm a cook, so if you are bring your can opener, cutting board and chef knife. Other than those few recommendations, all went well. It was an easy check in and check out. The doll house in the back is adorable and my little loved! I stayed at the Château last night. I was looking for a place that was away from the tweakers in downtown Salinas. The room I selected had a living room area separate from the bedroom and bathroom. When I arrived at the property I noticed that the bedroom window was wide open despite the rain. I went in the bathroom briefly and noticed a slight mold smell but didn't think too much of it considering how old the property was. I decided to work out of the living room and watch some TV for the next few hours. It wasn't until I took a shower later that night that I noticed how intense the mold smell was. It was strong to the point that it burned your nostrils. I had closed the bedroom window, and that was definitely a mistake. After getting out of the shower I decided to try to sleep in the bedroom. Smell was so strong that even with the window cracked, I ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room. When I got up in the morning, I did not feel well. Kind of shaky like I've had a long night of drinking even though I was completely sober. I ended up leaving the room early around 8:30 AM even though I had initially planned on staying there until 10:30 AM to get some remote work meetings done at my computer. The smell was that strong that I didn't feel like I could stay in the room any longer. I reached out to the owners or management on the text line that they have been talking to me on. I told them what it happened and said I thought that I should get a refund and that they should stop using that room for guests until they get the mold smell sorted. Oh, I forgot to mention that the window was so swollen from what I assume is water damage and mold in the bathroom that it couldn't be open at all. That just added to the stuffy funkiness in there. I was told by the owners or management that they would not issue a refund because I had not reached out in the evening and because I had stayed overnight in the room. I let them know that I hadn't noticed how bad it was until after 9 PM that point I just wanted to go to sleep. I also let them know that I left two hours earlier than I had planned because I found the room untenable to stay. Either way it would be my advice that you do not stay at this place if you have any sensitivities to mold or streams smells. I would also advise the ownership to get their mold issues under control for continuing to use the spaces for people. I definitely felt weird after breathing all that funky air all night long even though I spent most of the night on the couch in the living separate room. Live and learn I guess. I should've known that the room was too reasonably priced given the size and location. After a little back and fourth I decided it wasn't worth putting up a fight to get a refund. I do think folks should know what they are getting themselves into if they stay here. Def avoid room 101 at all costs. read more

Close to wineries, reasonably priced, and close to restaurants. Just a short drive away from the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel, Big Sur, Carmel Valley, and the Salinas Wild Animal Zoo. There could not have been a more perfect venue for my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. Linda and Samuel, the proprietors of Chateau Coralini, were perfect hosts for our event of twenty. We arrived at 3:30 to take family photos and snacked on delicious hors d'oeuvres and wine. This was followed by a fantastic dinner and dessert in the Bassett Ballroom. The house itself is laid out as follows: the main level which houses a parlor room, two formal dining rooms, and a reception area. The upstairs is comprised of well appointed bedrooms for the B & B guests. Finally, the downstairs area is another entertaining area with dining tables and used to hold a prohibition era speakeasy. Linda and Samuel have done an impressive job of renovating the Victorian to its original grandeur. Their eye for design, their dining tastes, and their warmth create the perfect environment for any occasion. Thank you for an unforgettable time! This place was perfect. Located in a beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful landscaping. The house was incredibly cool. My room was perfect just like the picture. I selected room 207. Large spacious, beautiful views. Bed was very nice. And SPOTLESS! The entire house was so clean, every nook and cranny was clean. I was very impressed. I had a lovely stay and appreciated the amenities', tea, coffee, hot coco, popcorn and ice. They have a microwave and real dishes to use! They had filtered water in the room as well. Very lovely. The place has good bones and great potential, but unfortunately the owners apparently aren't interested in devoting the resources to turn this property around. Throughout the inn, you can see shortcuts - walls that have been plastered but not painted, areas of the inn that aren't cleaned very well, carpet in the rooms that needs to be stretched or replaced, fixtures that don't work, and certain items that were added throughout the inn that look like they were purchased at a garage sale. It wouldn't take a lot to make this place into something special, but that doesn't seem to be a priority. And if you have something you need such as another towel, or to ask for something to be addressed there is only a phone number which connects you to a person who really isn't that helpful. There is no staff whatsoever on site. It's hardly hospitality. To their credit, the place is quiet, and the rooms are large. I really had mixed feelings about my stay there. read more

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in the Chateau. This is by no means your ordinary bed-and-breakfast. Far from it!! It is absolutely gorgeous. The decor is classic European style, with thought put into every little detail.. The care and thoughtfulness of the hosts are something we have not seen before (and we travel a lot). We were upgraded to their 1100 sqft Penthouse suite, which was such an amazing treat. Everything was very luxurious. From the rainforest shower to the jetstream bath (with TV) and the private elevator, and the amazing furniture, down to the fancy robes, L'Occitane shampoos, and cheese and fruit that awaited us. Linda and Samuel think of everything, making sure your stay is to be remembered! They also have a fully equipped Spa on the premises, so I highly recommend treating yourself to a massage or facial while there.
