Terrible agent

Drove 12 hours and hit fog, decided for safety to stop, booked a room online and have never been helped less than at this hotel! She told me I couldn't check in until 2pm even tho it was 2am and I informed the clerk I was not able to do that. She refused to help me, I had to cancel my reservation online. Do not stop here, they won't help you

Amazingly surprised and will stay again Great stay. Very quiet even on car week weekend. Breakfast was just enough. Room super clean. Staff amazing nice. Los Altos restaurant so good enjoyed In and Out milkshakes for dessert and quick walk.

My mother told me that if I don't have nothing to say than don't say nothing at all. Today I'm proud to say that I will not be saying nothing about this location. Mom if you're reading this I hope you're proud :)

The website said breakfast is included. Here's breakfast.

The website states they have a pool. Upon arriving you're greeted by a sign that says the pool is closed. Apparently it has been for over a year. The room description says breakfast is included. The breakfast provided was a granola bar. When I privately got in the manager's business about these things Saturday morning the manager said "it's because of Covid" to which I replied BS--Covid has been around for over a year and a half now. You have had time to update your web site and room descriptions. I demanded he refund me $25 of the outrages $170 room rate for this Salinas motel room. He refused. He broke his agreement. He didn't keep his word. But he kept my money. His website promised one thing and didn't keep his promise. But he kept my money. I told him there was an article in the Wall Street Journal last week about hotels doing exactly what he's doing--promising amenities on the website, not delivering, and blaming it on Covid. He knew about the article. It's a scam, which make the manager a scammer. I will be contacting my credit card issuer as soon as the charge comes in to kick a portion of the charge back. On the upside, the bed was actually comfortable and I slept well.

Right outside is the gas station and freeway exit. Very loud at all hours.

My husband and I will be staying here for a week. Last night was our first night and so far my only complaints about the room is #1 THE BED and PILLOWS. Big and spacious king, but it's VERY firm. Woke up multiple times during the night with an aching back and head ache. So happy we brought our own pillows and blanket because the pillows are kind of firm as well. The room was clean though. Air conditioner works nicely.. no signs of any roaches or critters.. yet.. fingers crossed it stays that way. lol #2 The room faces the gas station and freeway exit so it's very loud outside.. hear cars revving buy at all hours of the day and night. I work from home and so far the wifi here works nicely. #3 The TV seems like it used to be a display TV from the store because it has a little AD displaying at all times so that is a little distracting. #4 The arm chair in here looks kind of old and a little dirty. #5 I value privacy. So it sucks that they don't have like a sheer curtain to have closed so that natural light can enter the room without anyone being able to look in when passing by. All they have are these thick blackout curtains that when you have open, people can look in easily - which i hate, so i end up having to have them closed at all times making for a dark room w lights only. oh and lastly, #6 upon check in my husband said the girl at the front counter seemed sooo high on some kind of downers.. it took us 30 mins just to check in and she was sluring and elongating her words. The guy in front of us told her she needed some coffee or something so he noticed it as well! She made my husband late to something he had scheduled. Overall the room is fine.. it will serve it's purpose. Update!!!! I and changing my rating from a 3 star to a 4 star because I stayed in such a horrible hotel in Ventura on our way home and it was SO horrbible, it made me appreciate the little room here at Super 8 SO MUCH more! I actually missed it Lol!

if I could leave less than one I would! Just woke up being bit up by bedbugs! Grab one off my neck turn on the light and they were all over the bed! It's literally 10 o'clock. I just shut the light off to go to bed. I'm leaving immediately

This was on our bed!

Is this a shady area?

Yes! Been here an hour and already seen some weird dude riding his bike around the place looking in rooms. And saw a cop looking in rooms across the street at the motel 6.

From the moment we arrived, the two ladies at the front desk were incredibly personable, respectful, and welcoming--exactly what we needed after a long trip. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made for a relaxing night's rest. In the morning, we had breakfast at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised. The area was spotless and everything was fresh and delicious. Overall, it was a great experience. We definitely recommend this location for anyone traveling through the area!

But once guests received keys, they can come in and goes by swiping their keys. Free bfast. Love that. Gym and laundry are ok. Laundry coin only. Pool is square so it was a bit challenging to swim for exercise. Location next to fwy, and Starbucks is next door. Lots of construction areas around. Areas surroundings are pretty concerning. I stopped by Vallarta supermarket and love it, i was able to buy food for three days. Room is decent. Its called suite but doesnt have couch. Work space yes, microwave and fridge yes. Coffees in the lobby seemed available 24/7. Monterey is about 30 minutes from here, will try that area next time, or Morro Bay.

Overall, this is a nice hotel in a great location, and the rooms were one of the highlights of my…read morestay. I would rate the rooms **8/10**. They were clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. One thing I found odd was the setup with the **Courtyard and Residence Inn being right next to each other**. The biggest issue for me was the pool. The Courtyard itself does not have a pool, so I had to walk all the way over to the Residence Inn to use theirs. What made this more frustrating is that the Marriott app advertises the Courtyard as having a pool, which can be misleading when booking. Because of that, I'd rate the overall ambiance **6/10**, despite the hotel having a nice lounge area with plenty of seating. Another issue was the breakfast. I always book my hotel rooms with **breakfast for two**, and I specifically select the package for two rather than the package for one. I've stayed at multiple Courtyard locations with Bistro/Starbucks setups, and this was the first time I wasn't given any breakfast vouchers. I actually had to argue with the staff to receive the breakfast for two that I had already paid for. There are separate packages for breakfast for one and breakfast for two, so I don't think this should have been something I needed to argue about at the front desk. It was an unnecessary inconvenience. The service overall was okay, but there was definitely room for improvement. I'd rate the service **7/10**. Most of my interactions were fine, but the breakfast situation really took away from the experience. Overall, I think this is a good hotel with **nice rooms, a great location, and a comfortable lounge area**, but I would recommend double-checking the pool situation and your breakfast package before booking. I'd consider staying here again, but I'd hope the issues with the advertised pool and breakfast vouchers are addressed.
