The Chasu pork with rice noodles is my favorite thing to eat here because it is similar to a Vietnamese dish. This particular toppings-chipotle-type-fast-casual joint just opened recently in the polo-town plaza near the Super Target that's right off of the Tollway. It lives amongst some many fast casual competitors. First you start with delicious meats: bulgogi or chicken, etc. For you egg sluts, they allow you to add an egg if you're so daring. This asian-fast-casual joint serves up asian food that comes in a bowl. You pick several toppings and they cook it a la minute. It takes a bit longer though. You can have your bowls on top of fresh greens as well. They offer many different vegetables that you can add to your stir-fry bowl. They ask for you to pick a sauce too. I would just stick with their standard chasu sauce. The chasu sauce, from my cursory taste is a simple soy based sauce. It's slightly sweet. It's not dark like a teriyaki sauce nor hot at all. I'm typically pretty weary of places that get initially high marks from so many but YALL this place deserves it! For sure recommend trying it if you're curious. This is a build your own bowl style restaurant. The bowl was absolutely fantastic. 5 stars all around. The rice was cooked well, the variety of cooked veggies were delicious and also cooked perfectly. The choices of cold veggies were great too. We skipped on the kimchi option, just in case. We opted to have a fried egg and certainly glad about that. Perfect extra topping. We ordered the pork which was excellently cooked and moist - the only complaint is more protein would make the bowl perfect. We also ordered the tofu fries. If you like tofu I think they're worth trying. We got the wings, but felt they were overcooked. Flavor was great, though! For all three things our meal was only $18 which is a pretty great deal. The staff was really sweet and knowledgeable too. Very helpful with building our bowl. My weird complaint is that the restaurant temperature-wise was uncomfortably hot. Ah, the Chipotle of kbbq. The rice bowls are awesome, period. I usually get bulgogi or chasu and load it up with everything they offer. The egg is excessively extra $$, unfortunately. We saw the name Chasu and stopped in thinking that this was a ramen place. Lo and behold it was not and it makes me wonder whether the people who named it had thought about how that could cause confusion for some people. When we mentioned that, one of the workers said they've gotten that a lot so we weren't the only ones. The concept is like an Asian chipotle. There are quite a few options for toppings and they tasted ok by themselves but I wasn't really sold on the overall taste. I chose the rice noodles which is basically vermicelli often used in Vietnamese cuisine and it was served cold as in so cold it was no longer soft but kinda hard and chewy. Perhaps if I had gotten rice or another type of carb that wouldn't have been an issue but they should definitely change how they keep those noodles. They were very accommodating to our family and food was delivered quickly. I've never had Gobo Chips (Japanese Root Vegetable similar to Burdock), but it was pleasantly light and tasty. The sauces that they had available for the Tofu fries were great and didn't leave you with the same heavy fill from traditional fries. We ordered the bowl with brown rice and veggie blend (it's basically just a salad mix) with the chicken satay with Chasu sauce (sweet and salty sauce with a pork flavoring). So good! The other item was a bulgogi wrap and it was definitely filling. It had the perfect texture of crunchiness with the crispy wonton skin and the softness and taste of the nori and rice.
