We received 4 bids to replace our 1913 oil furnace (!!!) with either a central heat pump system or mini-multi splits from 4 different local companies with good reviews. Ultimately, it was easy for us to choose Chase because: They offered excellent, detailed quotes for each option. They took the time to talk about the location of air handling unit, the exterior heat pump unit, and the location of all the vents or split units so we would understand what the final product we live with will be like. They worked with us to locate vents in our basement that would allow us to save room for a future remodel. They understood our goal of maintaining a separate unit for our upstairs which is only 5 years old. They did not try to upsell us on an oversized system (which Jacobs definitely tried to do). They added a service to remove the ancient furnace. Our bid, installation, and completion dates were all on time and within the bid. Paul is very approachable and has a crew that can tackle minor issues that might come up dealing with adjacent plumbing, electrical, etc. I work in the energy efficiency and climate change field and appreciate that Paul and Jennifer are knowledgeable about the efficiency of various options and treated my energy and building expertise with respect. This was not true of other HVAC companies that gave us low-quality bids. I have been recommending Chase to everyone I know. We have had the York central heat pump system in operation for the last month and feel Chase did an excellent job at the installation. It is important for homeowners to understand what the experience of heat pump systems will be vs. natural gas furnaces (note, natural gas burns clean but extracting it is terrible for the environment) or vs. electric baseboard heaters (click click click). Do not use this business. They attempted to sell a $7000 furnace repair to my mother (older person). Where no repair was required. I had the furnace checked by another company. They told me if what the technician said was wrong with the furnace actually was wrong, the protocol would have been to turn the furnace off. They did not turn the furnace off. So, from the very beginning I had a great experience with Chase Heating. When I called to get an estimate, the woman who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful (Kelly, I think). We got Paul scheduled to come out that day at noon. Amazingly, he was right on time which is such a plus when you have to run home from work for something like this. Paul quoted the gas line which was much less than some others had said. He also asked if I'd like him to look at my furnace, which was nice because I wanted the furnace cleaned but had forgotten about it. He said he'd get me the quote later that night. Well, I got an email that afternoon and all together the quote came in at $527 for both the line and service. I called and scheduled the service with Kelly who said they had an opening that Friday morning. I said great, cause I had already bought the range and it was sitting un-hooked up teasing me with its gas-cooking goodness in our kitchen. Two techs showed up Friday morning bright and early (on-time again!) and after I showed them what went where, I went to work. When I got home, the work was done. However, there was a problem in that the pipe was a bit too long to push my stove all the way back. I called Chase and told Paul what the issue was. He said no problem he'd be out the next day and get it fixed. Well, like everything else in this experience, Paul and Chase did exactly what they said. AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! I am not even sure where to begin!! I had a terrible experience with Pyramid Heating & Cooling and had almost given up getting my AC repaired at all. Pyramid ended up billing me almost $2000 after telling me the system (only 2 years old) was damaged and coils needed to be replaced. The technician also told me it would likely not be covered by the manufacturer unless I paid for a 3 year service agreement with them. I paid and then decided I wanted a second option - this after they took the coil out of the AC unit. About an hour later I asked for a refund and that's when I called Chase.... I called Chase and spoke with Kelly, explained my situation, and she immediately went in to problem solving mode. Her husband Paul was booked up but she managed to get me in within 7 days. He arrived and was incredibly knowledgeable and courteous and explained what was going on and everything he needed to do. He was apologetic about my experience with Pyramid because he felt that it made a bad impression in the industry. Within 4 hours Paul had the system up and running AND it was $600 instead of $2000. I called Chase Heating because my Ac was not working right. Paul came out and did several tests trying to find out what was wrong. He thought he had it figured out but he still wasn't satisfied that it was the compressor. He kept looking and found the a blockage. Because of Paul perseverance we did not need a new compressor. Our system is very old and we talked about replacing both the heating and AC. He gave a a good price and did not charge us for the work he did today. Kelly in the office is a real sweetheart. Very positive experience. I was concerned that our prior furnace and A/C company was not doing a complete job, and turns out to be true. I had a pretty bad experience with Chase Heating & Cooling. I hired them to perform a tune-up on the furnace and AC in the home I just purchased. My home has central air and ductwork throughout. They discovered the furnace wasn't fully connected properly to the return vents. Their solution was to install ductless mini-splits and no longer use the ductwork. They said this was the only option. Estimated about $10-15k. Given my house already has the ductwork, I was quite upset. I brought out a few other companies and they ALL said ductless mini-splits was a horrible idea and nothing they'd ever recommend given what they saw. Chase Heating & Cooling never went into the attic nor the crawl space to fully investigate. The other companies did and all of them suggested to run the return up rather than down. That's what we did. I ended up going with one of these other companies. They replaced my AC and Furnace. Cost me $7,500. Had I not gotten a second opinion, I may have spent twice what I needed to AND had ugly ductless mini split in my house that already has ductwork for central air. Pretty crazy. read more

I've been using Chase Heating & Cooling for 3 years now to service our furnace yearly. We recently needed to replace our Furnace and decided to also include air conditioning. The entire experience with this company was exceptional. After receiving the estimate, I had questions and emailed the office manager, Kellie. Not only did she respond in a timely manner, but she took the time to explain, in detail, the answers to my questions and concerns. I had to also get an upgraded electrical panel to handle the upgrade, and Kellie and Paul guided me the entire way. I also rescheduled because of the delay in trying to obtain the electrical work, and Kellie took the time to email me resources and references for multiple companies (not just electrical, but painters as well). I so appreciate her willingness to help me and guide me throughout this process, since it was all new to me. This is so rare in dealing with contractors, and I never had an issue in reaching them and discussing my questions. Paul, who completed the service, is just as wonderful. He arrived on time, was patient with my questions, completed the work in a timely manner, was willing to discuss my electrical needs with the electrician while on site, and took the time to clean up appropriately upon completion of the project. Furthermore, I trust him. He exudes trustworthiness, and for me, that is one of the most important elements in dealing with a contractor. While getting quotes to install a ductless heat pump in my home, I chose Chase Heating and Cooling because it's a local family business, and the system they proposed as the best fit for my home made the most sense, and was competitively priced, and they provided information that the other companies did not, which made me trust them to do a great job. Other than a small snafu when the electrician was a no-show (this was an independent contractor, not a Chase employee) installation was fast and painless. They also helped with financing. Lastly, the reason I'm writing this review 7 months after the unit was installed is that I could not find any confirmation for the tax credit for the state so I called Chase. Kellie graciously offered to check with the state to make sure the application was received and/or resend the application and expedite the process to receive the tax credit confirmation. Plus, when I called, Kellie remembered me and congratulated me on getting married! I highly recommend Chase Heating and Cooling to anyone in my social circle who is in need of heating/cooling services. I found Chase Heating on Angie's List and called to receive a quote on moving our gas line, rotating our water heater and installing a heat duct. They were quick to schedule a time to evaluate the work and give a quote and were able to get us on the schedule quickly. I called Chase to look at a gas furnace that stopped working. After inspection I was told that I needed a new heat exchanger. Paul suggested I should probably just replace the furnace. Later when I had the time I did a little reading. Apparently it is very common for high efficiency furnaces to have plugged condensate lines. I disconnected the line and cleared the plug. Six months later it is still running like a top. You make the call. These guys are either crooks or the worst furnace repair people ever. read more

I was so excited to have found a heating and cooling company with good reviews. I had them come out on March 8th because our furnace was not working, we had no heat. They found that we needed a new chimney liner, that's it. They did not touch the furnace at all that night, but told me that they would get a quote to fix the liner and service the furnace to get our heat back on asap. That didn't happen. I called, no return call. I had someone else come out and get my furnace working so we had heat. When they finally called me on March 17th, 9 days later, it was to tell me that they couldn't charge my credit card for the $99 service fee and that they had mailed me an estimate. Lets just say I am very disappointed, they ended up getting their money and we ended up having to get the furnace fixed by someone else. Thank goodness for the company that we found or my kids and I would have been without heat that entire time waiting for chase to do anything. read more
