Another great visit for smog check for my 84 CJ7 Jeep -- in & out in 20 minutes as I was first in the door -- price was explained before service started and documentation provided (test details, copy of receipt). Very trust worthy people. Cha is a great man. He will guarantee your car as long as it goes understand his garage. Brought my wife's scion in right before they closed. And still got my car in. Finished In 15 mins. Full synthetic oil. Got a new screw in (since it was cracked do to being over tighten from.other mechanics). And yet.. they saw a screw on a tire.. and fixed it. Quick fix. I've been living in the area for over 30 years and would always take our cars there in case we needed anything. Recently I went there 3 times and was declined service. The first time I needed an oil change and they told me that they don't do that. That they only do "big jobs" on cars and to go to a mechanic that has more workers working. I said ok. The second time I went I needed a "big job" and they turned me down saying they only do smog checks and oil changes. Really??? If you don't want my business just be up front instead of lying. Cha's Auto Repair is great. I've had a few things done to my 2004 GMC Envoy here and it's the best you can expect from a mechanic. I knew I needed knock sensors replaced. PepBoys wanted to charge almost 800. Cha's was half that. Plus he discovered I needed a new mass air flow meter. He offered to get the part or I could get the parts myself and bring them in (which I really appreciate). Ultimately I had him get some of the parts and I got some online and brought them in with me when I returned for the work to be done. After getting everything fixed it was (coincidentally) time for a smog check. In and out in 15 minutes for 40.00. I can't say enough good things. Just FYI he works on a first come first serve basis every day. He opens at 8 so get there early to ensure you are at the top of the list to get your work done. Thanks again Cha. read more

Great car service center! This venue offers limited car service options such as oil changes, brake service, and smog checks. I came solely for the Smog Check service. Upon arrival, a worker greeted me and explained that someone was ahead of me finishing up a smog check. I only waited about 15 minutes, and they started on my car. The worker then explained the process of the smog check and that it would only take 20 minutes. To my surprise, the worker connected the gadgets needed for the check and was able to complete the whole process in 15 minutes! Service was welcoming, friendly, and quick! When I drove my car in, unannounced, this morning, I was expecting to leave it there and get a call the next day telling me what the damages would be. Instead, a totally sweet, chivalrous mechanic took my car, raised it on the racks, figured out what the problem was and fixed it for me in minutes. He explained to me what the issue was, and showed me the rock which had been stuck between the rotor and the axle. I asked him what I owed him and he said, "nothing, next time!" There will absolutely be a next time! Honest, friendly, trustworthy service...wow, I feel so lucky that Cha's is so close to my house because they have my devotion forever!!!! read more

Hands down the best place to go. I've been getting my smog here for both my vehicles. One time I couldn't pass smog on one of my cars and one of the mechanics took his time and asked me let me see what's wrong. In my head I thought he would charge me but instead he found out y it wasn't passing and told me what to do so listening to him i did the work myself brought the car back and right away i passed the smog check. For a mechanic to jus stop what he was doing and to take a look at my problem I really appreciated it. So I would recommend this place to everyone. If you are seeking to get air in your tires, don't bother! The owner was dismissive and rude. So, I decided not to continue doing business with him e.g. as smog checks, tune up, etc. I prefer to spend my money where it is appreciated. Oops...maybe that is why he was not interested in putting air in my tires...no money will exchange hands. Very disappointed in him!! read more

Very pompous, dismissive, rude, condescending with an attitude. When it comes to German automotive repairs and prices, you might as well pay a visit to s Mercedes Benz Dealer. Cha's prices are in line with dealership' prices. Observed a dusty and dirty old looking office with out-dated computer and equipment. Not the type of place you want to stop at and inquire mechanical questions involving your vehicle, unless your going to have Cha's do the actual work. If doing business here make sure this auto repair shop does not replace your car parts with after market parts. Never take a Benz to this neighborhood junkyard mechanic like this. read more

If you're looking for an honest to goodness down to earth kind of guy, this is the place to go. A lot of mechanics will try to up sell you stuff your car doesn't necessarily need. We started going to Cha's for oil changes. He never tries to sell me air filters or whatever else the dealer might try to sell you unless my car really needs it. We moved about 10-15 miles away from Cha's and we still take our cars here. An honest mechanic is hard to find. This place is a keeper. read more

I've been coming here every other year for smog check ever since DMV started requiring it for my car. One of the reasons I choose Cha's over the others is the honest price. Apart from excellent service, I usually get in and out within 10-15 minutes and today was no different. Except that I didn't notice one of my break lamps was busted. Mr. Cha replaced it himself, made sure it works, and didn't charge a single cent for the new bulb and installation. That was beyond the service I expected from his shop. I was very grateful. Brought my 2008 G35 to replace my rotors and brake pads ( I bought the rotors and brake pads he did the labor only) and he did an awesome job and for a fair price. He even went out of his way to school me a little bit about brake systems, he rotated my tires, checked all the fluid levels in my car and drove the car around the block to make sure the brake system was good.
