Great service and prices. Support your local shops! It's very reliable and takes apple pay

Smog check only 55$ very quick, he's a very kind professional and honest gentleman. Highly recommend

Went here on a Saturday morning after seeing the smog check place I originally was gonna go to was closed. Saw this along the way and was greeted by the owner who was super friendly! He quickly explained the price and how long it takes. Price was $55 for smog check which includes the printed results. Didn't wait more than 10 minutes before it was done. The owner explained that the results were sent over to the DMV and that it should be in their system within 24 hrs. This place also accepts tap to pay. Overall a good and quick experience. Highly recommend! read more

I had to get my car smogged again so I automatically thought of Cha's after going there for the same thing 2 years ago. When I pulled in the lot, the owner (Mr. Cha?) immediately walked out before I even parked, wished me a happy new year, and asked if I needed a smog. When I said yes, he immediately told me how much it would cost ($55), how long it would take (10 minutes), and (when I agreed to proceed) he offered me a seat at the patio table outside the garage. He worked quickly and efficiently and I don't even think it took the 10 minutes he quoted. They still accept ApplePay (thanks to another local business for keeping your systems contemporary!) and I finished paying in less than 20 seconds. Without my having to ask, he explained how long it would take for the smog results (passed!) to be uploaded to CA DMV (24 hours) and I was on my way. Not sure why people have had negative experiences with this business and/or the owner. Two years between my visits and both times I received friendly customer service and fast, efficient service. Maybe people are just getting back the attitude they're putting out? read more

The owner is a POS. I have no idea why he's still in business. He's rude and argues with his customers instead of helping them out. I only went here because he's literally 2 blocks away so its convenient but I will NEVER go back here again. For all the times I went here, he would always find ways to turn down work and would tell me to check out other shops. Like he picks and choose what work he wants to do. The guy gives 0 fcks about his customers. DO NOT go here unless you want to be treated like sh*t! Go spend your money somewhere else. read more

I took my 27-year-old car here for a smog check, but it was making an engine noise. Mr. Cha made a suggestion of what he thought the noise was, but they didn't perform that service at the shop. I got the problem taken care of and went back for the smog test. Since the car is older, there was an additional charge for the service, but it was done quickly and professionally! She passed with flying colors. Two days later, I took my other car to Cha's for a smog test, it's a newer car so it was only $40 to test. SUCH a great rate. I appreciate and respect this shop and its mechanics and will be going there for all future needs. THANK YOU! read more

The customer service has gone downhill and I won't be coming back. The mechanic who happens to be Hispanic has always shown proper customer service and has always been helpful but I can't say the same about the owner. I don't know if his wife left him for his brother or what but this guy has something up his back door. Tried to come in for an oil change and he did everything he could to tell me no. First he tells me it went up $10 and that I should shop around first. I was willing to pay the ridiculous $130 he was asking for the oil change but of course that wasn't enough so he proceeds to ask me "How do you know you need an oil change if the light isn't on ???" It's been 5,000 miles since the last one and I'm no expert but I think that's enough means for an oil change ? Owner is rude and lazy. Don't waste your money here read more

Came here to get help with a tow hitch I needed flipped around and didn't have the tools. Just pulled up and the gentleman came up and asked me what I needed and helped me out right away no questions asked. Did it free of charge and didn't sweat helping me out. Also came here a while back for a smog and same great service. Great shop to consider. read more

I came here for a simple oil change based on their great reviews , but my experience turned out very awkward and weird as I was paying the owner for the services at the end. The owner thought it was okay for him to be rude to me when I tried to tip one of his employees, his response and attitude was unacceptable. To be Honest, I tip my mechanics because I'm always grateful for their services, and not one of them had a problem with that. But the owner had a different perspective of it, he told me that I only tipped them because I think they don't make enough money . That's nothing close to true if you really know who I am as a person. When you try to do a generous thing , people's ego let it get the best of them. Hopefully you can learn from this and not stay closed minded. Have a great day!! read more

We got a quote yesterday from another place for brakes on our 2015 Honda Accord. $970!!!!!! This included the "need" for all new rotors as well. We went to Cha's for a second quote/opinion. New brakes plus rotor resurfacing was $340. I forewarned Cha we might need new rotors based on the previous place. He said if that's the case it would be $80 for each rotor. Even then, we're still saving $300. As we were leaving, he corrected himself once realizing our E brake was the handle and not a button/switch. So brakes are $310 actually. He didn't have to tell us that, and because he did I left my car trusting him completely. We got there at a GREAT time because he called us exactly one hour later to pick up the car. I thought he was calling to tell me we did need new rotors but it wasn't the case. He showed us the old brake pads, talked a bit about it. And we left with a receipt and standard print out of the work done. We won't go anywhere else from now on. Literally saved over $600 yesterday. read more

Got my smog check here. It was quick and easy and for a fair price. I was here no more then 10 minutes and they had me out. Highly recommended read more

That time again for a smog check! Courteous and efficient service! 10 minutes and I'm done. Thank you Manuel.

I took too long to write this, but I came to Cha's for a smog check earlier this year, and they charged a reasonable price, did a great job and replaced a small hose for no charge - it was quick, the mechanic was incredibly nice, and I will go back every time I need a smog check. read more

Came in wanting an oil change and was greeted by one of the mechanics at first i told him i wanted an oil change asked me to give him some info on the car which i did then proceeded to check under my car as soon as i told him i had the parts with me (oil & filter) he immediately told me they only did smog and not repairs nor maintenance it was strictly smog, he then told me to go to a jiffy lube or one of those oil places which i did end up going to valvoline to change my oil hassle free just though i'd give a different business a chance and find something a little inexpensive and closer to my home but that wasnt the case.. anyways it all turnout for the best i left this place went on to valvoline which did my oil change and topped off all my fluids and had me in & out in 15 mins and went about my day.. read more

Cha's Auto - Auto Repair Near Me - Long Beach, California

Came in on the fly, an early Saturday morning walk in. Just needed a smog check. Manuel was so genuinely friendly and professional. In and out of there in under 10 minutes, so it was perfect experience. Will definitely be back for any other services that I may need. read more

Cha's Auto in the Wrigley part of Long Beach has been around as long as I can remember. I usually come here for my smog checks and smaller repair jobs. On my recent visit, I took my mom's 30 year old car in for a smog check ($85, for older car) and Manny performed the service, which took about 20 min. I also took the same car here to have its wheel bearings replaced when I got new tires for it. And, the usual oil changes here and there as well. Mr Cha and Manny are honest and reliable. They will not try to up sell you on things you don't need. I fully recommend them for those "I hear a sound" check ins. Tip: If you are getting a smog check, call ahead and see if there's a line. I've gone at opening with 1-2 people ahead of me. Luckily, they have a few machines for smog checks. read more

These two dudes are fast! No waiting around forever, these guys don't mess around. I've seen them crack out an oil change in 13 minutes flat. These guys are honest and the prices are fair. I only come to them with my car needs. read more

The owner is a D. I restored cars for years. This clown challenges me and denied my business because the knew brake issues better than me. Guess what? My new rotors SOLVED the issue as I said. Dude said: you need specialist. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE read more

Thank you for being kind, honest and thorough. He's the first mechanic I've ever been to that provides thorough look at everything and recommendations. I went in for an oil change and he told me how severely damaged my two front tires were because car wasn't aligned. I had no clue! He recommended not to drive on the freeway in current car condition. Better believe I went to the tire shop right away. I have a daughter and I definitely don't want to take any chances. Thank you so much and I'll definitely return! read more

Have been taking our cars here for a long time. Mr Cha is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. Does try to charge you for repairs you don't need. Oil changed and smog checks are super quick. Recommend this business to everyone. read more

This place...hands down is the BEST! The 2 gentlemen that work here are honest, fast & friendly. It can be hard finding a mechanic you trust to work on your car (especially being a woman) and not feeling overpriced or cheated. I feel 100% comfortable with all services they provide. They mostly work oil changes & smogs. I recently had my brakes done... this is my "go to" EVERY single time. read more

5 stars for the smog test service I received today, despite the fact that I showed up after the place had closed. The owner was still on site when I drove in, so I asked if they were open (no). I was about to drive out but I first asked if they were open on Sundays (no). Owner asked me what I needed and I told him a smog test--he then told me he'd go ahead and do it right then. He was very friendly and didn't act inconvenienced at all. He even gave me NatGeo magazines to read. I was in and out in 10 minutes. It made my day. read more

I went in for a smog check and the entire transaction was very smooth. Mr. Cha was so kind and friendly ( i was told i could have a seat in the waiting area but ended up talking to him while I waited instead). I was in and out of there within 15 minutes and paid $20 less than I had previously at a different location. I definitely recommend this company for smog checks, I don't believe he does mechanical work anymore, unfortunately. read more

I needed a smog check I read reviews first as I usually do and I saw some mix emotions about this place. But I still stopped by and gave it a try. I got greeted as soon as I drove into the place super helpful told me it would take 10 minutes and it did I did pass the test and it affordable flat price no extra charges or hidden fees which NO ONE LIKES. I've been coming to Cha's for years! One of the most honest and fair priced mechanics I have ever met. I knew it was a good place when I took my car there and Cha told me that I didn't need a specific service that the dealer tried to sell me. After that I was sold. Cha and Manny are great, personable and I will never take my car to another mechanic! read more

Got my car smog here today by owner Edward Cha and he greeted me while I parked. I got my smog and it took 10mins very fast I was in and out. Smog was $40. If you ever want to get your oil changed, smog check, and other services done to your vehicle, this is the place to come. Not many mechanic or service shops are truthful nowadays and most are usually high priced. I come here to get a great service, trustworthy one, and if my vehicle has any issues or needs something done to it we are told the issue and they don't pressure to fix it right there and then. They give you the option, I highly recommend you come here for a great priced, honest job if you need one on your car. read more

My family has been going to Cha's for three generations. If I ever go anywhere else, it is never as great as my experiences here. The workers here are so kind, helpful, and happy. I always receive such a warm greeting when I arrive here which is so refreshing for an auto shop. Also, this shop has a well deserved reputation for being the most honest shop around. Cha's has very reasonable prices and I am so lucky that I live so close. They don't have a typical lounge area (room inside with a tv), but instead they have a table and some chairs outside under a canopy. I actually prefer this, because I can see everything they are doing to my car. I have nothing but great things to say about Cha's Auto! read more

Second time here but both times the gentlemen have been friendly and seem very honest (good vibes). The price seemed fair and reasonable! Did I say reasonable?? Yes sir/ma'am I did. Would definitely recommend. read more

Great Service. Everything you want in a mechanic. Quick, Friendly, Great prices. Full disclosure I only got my smog check done here but the next time I have a car issue I will bring it here. FYI the Yelp map is incorrect, it is located at 855 W. Willow (corner of Golden and Willow) but the yelp map shows the location of 855 E. Willow. While you wait there is a very good Mexican spot right down the street, Villas Comida check it out too. read more
