My disappointment is that today in the middle of a conference call via WiFi, the line went dead. I was unable to rejoin an important call. Apparently, the autopay was never set up and my bill was overdue. OK, shit happens with new service being set up properly. My issue is that I was two months overdue and no one contacted me. No email, no call. I did not pickup a call from Stephenville, TX, I live in Corsicana. Since no voice message was left, I assumed it was one of the many I identified solicitation calls I get daily. Minutes later my internet was cut off. They also charged a late fee to reconnect service. They couldn't even set up autopay over the phone, I have to go by the office or fill out a form that they can mail out on request. No option to fill an autopay authorization online. This needs to be rectified immediately. For a technology company, they have low-tech customer service.

Have been outright lied to by them and when called on it the manager won't even bother to talk to call you over it. The install was terrible, just a 1' piece of flex out of the box and the line just laying across the yard, not even attempting to make it look like they care even a little. I'd go with anyone but this company for my internet

If I'm checking out Charter on Yelp, I already have a good idea of what my internet connection and installation process will be like. (It was fine by the way.) No, what I need to know is what to expect when I have to come down here to either return or exchange equipment. First off, you pick a number and then they'll call it out when its your turn. The problem though is that not all people follow this system. For example, I had some Latino people walk in when I was waiting in line. They then proceeded to the next available employee. I understand if English is not your first language, but that doesn't give you a free pass to cut in line. After that though, the experience with the people at the desk was fine.

There's just no excuse for it. I'm not sure if it's resourcing, poor workflows, or disengaged staff, but it shouldn't be this hard. We'd been customers of Charter for many years and were tired of paying the "loyalty tax" for subpar internet at premium pricing. Our experience with Charter was fine up to that point, but after the hassle of returning this equipment, I don't see us returning to Charter. What a disappointment.

To say Rise Internet is the McDonald's of the internet service providers isn't exactly true. Dumpster diving would be more accurate and fitting when comparing them to the food service industry. They used to go by the name of Skybeam and their service was just as bad then as it is now. The largest source of their problems (other than methamphetamine addict being a requirement for employment in a technical role) is from them overselling the service and putting more (far more) customers on towers than they are rated for. The last couple of months I had service with this company I used my phone as a hotspot because when there was a signal the upload and download speeds were sub-Megabit. I was trying to change the password to the email provided by Rise. The process on their website was not working. I cannot remember the exact excuse they gave me, but told me in order to change it I would have to give them the new password and they would do it. Yes, they really think customers are as stupid as their employees. They were trying to get me to pay $9x.xx for the last month of service, which I didn't. I was hoping they would begin collection action so I could begin legal action. They never came an removed their equipment. Why waste fuel when you know it is malfunctioning and cannot be used on another unsuspecting victim/customer? TL/DR: Crap service from a crap company. Review edited because I saw they changed their name again, but not a good job at losing name recognition.
