I've been to Chart House prob over 50 times and truth be told it's good sometimes and bad other times. We also heard it's closing. We went Friday night to say goodbye and it was one of the best experiences we ever had! Our waitress Genesis was great! My meal did come out wrong but it was quickly replaced. The bonus was I got less string beans , biut a bigger piece of fish. The dinner was well paced and everything tasted great. They finally get it together after 20+ years and now they decided to close. We liked it so much, we will go one last time before it closes for good.

Caesar Salad was just ok and the Meatballs were yummy

This place has always been a 10 out of 10 for me! I found out that they will be re-branding soon and it will be known as a high end steak restaurant known as Mastros Steakhouse so I visited with my daughter we sat at the bar and ordered a couple of appetizers started with the best Kimchi Calamari in town. We also tried the meatballs and it was delicious we were not too crazy about the ceasar salad the dressing was missing something but the bowl was made of cheese which was a nice surprise being a cheese lover and all lol the crab cake was good but way too pricey for just one crab cake. Ambiance and service is always on point. Looking forward to visit the new restaurant with the new menu

5/5 Chart House - Weehawken, NJ One of the most beautiful dining experiences I've had in NJ -- the view of the Manhattan skyline is absolutely breathtaking, especially at night. The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, perfect for a romantic dinner or celebration. We started with the crispy calamari, which was golden and perfectly fried -- crunchy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. For entrees, we had the Miso Glazed Salmon and Filet Mignon with Crab Fried Rice. Both were cooked perfectly -- the salmon had that beautiful glaze with just the right sweetness, and the filet was tender and flavorful. On another visit, I tried the Twin Lobster Tails with Garlic Mashed Potatoes -- rich, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The lobster was tender and paired so well with the sides. For drinks, I had the Berry Mojito and a Tropical Pineapple Cocktail, both refreshing and balanced. The cocktails here are well-made and match the upscale vibe. Dessert was a standout -- the Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream was heavenly. Warm, rich, and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Service was great, very attentive without being overbearing. Everything arrived fresh and timed perfectly. Tip: Try to book your reservation right before sunset -- you'll get the best of both worlds, the daylight view and the night skyline glow Overall, Chart House is a must-visit for anyone who wants fine dining with an unforgettable view. Everything from the food to the atmosphere is top-tier.

We had the best experience there tonight! Brandon was an excellent waiter, personable and efficient. I am SO glad we went and the NYC views were spectacular. The calamari had a light, excellent sauce and I think I ate 80% of it. My husband said the chef's selection of black cod was wonderful. If I'm honest, the grilled salmon and risotto were just ok. But the molten lava cake was amazing. So get out of the city and head to New Jersey!

Came here a few years ago and couldn't even finish the food. Was super disappointed. Then a friend convinced me to give it a second chance, a couple months ago. Glad she did. We went for Happy Hour (great deals!) and all the food was delicious. Cocktails were good too and service was alright. They get pretty busy around 5pm but it's understandable. Have already been back since then. It's become a neighborhood favorite for me. Glad they fixed whatever was wrong back then. Bravo. Ps. The Kim Chee Calamari are so good!

Went to the Chart House for a wedding and it was a pleasant experience. The unobstructed views of midtown Manhattan are beautiful and added to the enjoyment of the celebration. The service throughout the wedding was impeccable. At every turn, we were treated like royalty and it was very much appreciated. Each course was well presented and my portion of the salmon was large and flavorful. I also enjoyed their outdoor patio, as well. In between wedding halls, this patio allows attendees to enjoy the beautiful views, take memorable photos, and/or enjoy a drink on high stool tables. Whether to enjoy a meal or a special celebration, the Chart House is a recommended event space .

Let me start by saying the views are absolutely incredible! Big windows as well as an outdoor patio to really enjoy the view of the NY skyline. The restaurant is huge so it was sometimes difficult to get a hold of our server, but we were able to get others. Our host was great and made great recommendations! The food was good, nothing over the top. The steak was cooked well but needed the mushroom truffle butter for me to enjoy it. If the priority is a view, this is a great place to dine.

Chart House was truly unforgettable. The sweeping views of the NYC skyline set a stunning backdrop for the evening. The food was delicious, and the service was warm and attentive. We also enjoyed some great drinks. But what truly made it special was the intimate, low ambient lighting that created a cozy, romantic vibe. It was the perfect setting for a date night and a memorable moment for me and my girlfriend. We'll definitely be back!

I love this restaurant. Everything is top tier. It's classy and romantic. The staff is always attentive, and the food delicious. This is my go to spot for any celebration, or just because. Make sure you make a reservation.

Absolutely amazing and beautiful place to enjoy a family/friend celebration and even a simple meal!! The view of NYC, especially, at night is one in a million! There is also like a little outside deck lounge for pictures and a little hangout area. We had a celebration with family and friends and everyone said they enjoyed it! The staff were all very welcoming, polite and always on the go! The definitely helped make the experience a lot more smoother and pleasant! The food was great and especially the lobster tail and lobster soup! Their filet mignon was good but there were a lot of people saying it was more on the dry side. Maybe if you bring it to the waiter attention they can adjust to your liking. It gets pretty packed so it's best to always reserve! Parking is available. But not too sure if there is a valet section where there is a fee so I would call and double check on that, if that's important to you and your guests! Overall, it was a beautiful experience and would definitely do it again! Highly recommended!

Delicious, delightful dinner with a great window view of the NY skyline. We were lucky enough to snag a table without a reservation on Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Our server was so polite and just the right amount of attentive. The cocktails were great and the food was tasty. The hummus appetizer is. Healthy serving and comes with 3 different types of hummus. Filet mignon was cooked correctly and comes with creamy mashed potatoes. The halibut dinner was very good but the sauce was spicy ! The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the pita for the hummus appetizer was a little stale and the coconut rice with my halibut dinner missed the mark and was sitting in a very spice sauce. Otherwise we had a wonderful dinner and can't wait to go back soon!

    Assorted drinks. Filet 7oz.

Looking to have a beautiful lunch or dinner with epic views of New York City skyline?! This resturant has it all! Serving amazing dishes and delicious cocktails. One of my favorite spots to go for a good meal and great service. The servers definitely love their job and cater to all guests with smiles. Even the restrooms are beautiful with modern art and marbled walls/flooring. Eat: Salmon, Steak, Salad , Mixed Veggies, and more. Drink: Assortment frozen or on the rocks cocktails & mocktails ( non alcohol ) $$$. Reservations suggested. Dress smart casual elegant. Parking lot available / valet.

I went to Charthouse to celebrate my birthday. Although I went primarily for the views and atmosphere, the food was surprisingly good (I had low expectations after seeing these reviews...) FOOD -- 4.3/5 MUST ORDER: the kimchi calamari! The portion is a huge shareable platter and the sauce they batter this in is unique and works great with the calamari. We also ordered the coconut shrimp and the middle (coconut milk sauce?) is so good, we asked for another cup of it! BE AWARE the prime rib is kind of fatty... I ate a whole chunk of fat in one bite and had to spit it out. I got the NY strip and the steak was seasoned well (I prefer saltier foods). 3 potato mash was also really good. I heard their drinks are also sweeter so I got the strawberry lemon drop with a double shot and it was definitely pretty strong. EXPERIENCE -- 5/5 If you're looking to book a window table, the hostess let me know over the phone that they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You might have to wait anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour but there is a bar area where most patrons wait at. Our server was super sweet and attentive. If you tell them you're there for a birthday celebration, they print out a little slogan on your menu ahead of time!

Hello! My family and I are planning on coming here for my mother's 60th birthday. I know your dress code is business casual, I just wanted to know; she has a beautiful pink pantsuit with a tulle skirt attachment, would this be appropriate attire?

Absolutely appropriate. I've been to chart house for celebrations and just to hang. I've gone in jeans (dressed up of course and not ripped) and never had a problem. Think semi formal, business casual for guests.

Hi, I saw that you have 3 party room. Can you tell me the approx. number of people they accommodate for a luncheon (no dancing)? Thank you!

Hi Lisa, thank you for your interest in our private space. We can accommodate from 30 – 300 guests. Please reach out to our private events department at (201) 348-6401 for more information.

How strict is the dress code ? I'm from Miami where as long as you have money you dress how you want

Hello, our dress code is business casual. Thank you.

Do they have private rooms for small dinner parties maybe 20-25 people?

    Yes! Yes they do

We are visiting in town do we need to be vaccinated to dine here?

    Nope 😉

Do you need to be COVID vaccinated to eat in chart house at weehawken?

No, they didn't ask for any vaccine but I would call to double ck

Do they give anything for birthday/anniversary? free or charged?

Not free but they put a birthday/anniversary congrats on it.

Are nice cargo/golf type shorts allowed?

Allowed - yes. Preferred - no.

Is this place suitable for a 1 year old and 2 year old to come?

Absolutely Chart House is suitable for 1 and 2 year olds, we are very child and baby friendly with our ambiance

    Is there any vegetarian options?

Definitely more vegetarian flexibility with the pasta dishes than vegan, hard to be a vegan here

I'm not seeing a filet mignon & lobster tail combination on the menu, is that still available?

To be honest I have no idea- but go there the food is really delicious. I was kindly surprised.

No one is answering the phone for reservations and online there is nothing open until the end of this month. Is it possible to see if I could get a reservation for this Saturday Jan. 23rd?

However, the way the billing was handled was extremely disappointing and honestly very misleading. I was told that adding two additional guests would not be a problem, and at no point was I informed there would be an extra $150 charge. To only bring this up after the event is unacceptable. That kind of information should be clearly communicated at the time the request is made so customers can make an informed decision. What made matters worse was receiving a final email stating that my deposit would be kept because of those additional guests. That is completely unprofessional. I paid $2,772.20 for a pizza-making class for 17 kids and 16 adults, and in reality, only 15 kids and 15 adults attended--and only about 8 adults even participated in making pizza. There were no additional materials or accommodations that would justify keeping the deposit. While the event itself was a success, the lack of transparency and the decision to keep the deposit left a very bad impression. Customers should not have to deal with surprise charges after the fact.

The format is basically like the show Chopped - two chefs (with the help of a sous chef) must prepare 3 different courses (app/entrée/dessert) using the ingredients from a mystery basket and are judged by the group. They have a certain amount of time for each round/course, and each mystery basket ingredient must only be used once over the 3 dishes. Each event is capped at 20 people - 12 seats at the counter and 8 seated at two tables behind the counter. Counter seats are only $10 more, however if the counter is sold out, it's totally fine to have a table seat. They encourage you to stand up and walk around, engaging with the chefs as they are preparing each dish. They have tasting sticks and allow you to taste sauces as they are being prepared. It's an intimate setting and it's a great way to learn about their techniques and the various ingredients. Watching them plate 20 dishes is incredible. All the food they prepared was delicious - there wasn't a bad dish. It's basically like having two full 3-course meals however you can take home any leftovers if you can't finish it all. You don't know the mystery ingredients ahead of time and they can't accommodate any allergies/preferences so that's something to keep in mind if you have allergies or are a picky eater. Our main proteins were chicken and steak so no issues there. At the end of each course, you have a score card where you rate each dish on presentation, creativity, and taste. At the end of the final round, we went around the room and told the chefs who we think should be crowned the night's winner. No getting out of telling them to their faces who was your favorite! It was a really fun night. The hostess was great and kept everyone pumped up and made sure our carafe of water was full. Both chef Ed and Guillermo were really cool and friendly - it was great to chat with them. They are amazing chefs. Some tips: don't be late! Don't dress too warmly especially if you are seated at the counter - it gets warm if you are near the stove burners. Bring wine - they have ice buckets for white/rosé. Book as soon as the calendar goes live if you want a counter seat. You are going to smell like oil/fried food when you leave... so ladies, don't get a fresh blowout ahead of time!

Well, we finally had a chance to go for one of our date nights. Just hearing that this place is located in Hoboken already gave me the UGH I don't want to go. If you as a reader knows anything about Hoboken, parking is bruuuutal. It's like finding parking in NYC during prime time. Parking spots just doesn't exist. Luckily Dino and Harry's is in the beginning of Hoboken from the north side by the Lincoln tunnel. This might actually be the only positive thing about this place. The decor in the place is like any other steakhouse, wood everywhere, dim lights, and the smell of meat in the air. It seemed quite rowdy, this being majority of the time the guys at the bar flexing their money and buying shots for the girls half their age. For the table we ordered the Australian Wagyu tartare (special) , 2 ribeyes (rare and medium rare) creamed spinach, and applewood bacon Brussels sprouts. The wagyu was eh, no flavor and nothing special for the price. Ribeyes came out a little after, the medium rare came out medium so we had to send it back. They were understanding so they cooked another ribeye to medium rare. The other thing ribeye was the correct temperature. The new ribeye that came out, came out rare, luckily the first ribeye that came out rare sat out long enough that it cooked to a medium rare. Such a mess. Creamed spinach was a bit too creamy for me, but my wife likes it. Brussels sprouts were a bit oily. The only thing I thought was good was the banana bread pudding. Service was good, our server came to check on us, water glass was always filled. Would I go back to Dino and Harry's...probably not, there's other steakhouse that provide the same eh steak. Our server was incredibly friendly, right amount of chatty, and ensured all our needs were met. I loved the recommendations that he provided. The food was soo good. Each course was a hit that we ate and left no crumbs :). I'm glad we finally had dinner at the hotel, we typically grab a coffee and pastry before we head out exploring for the day. It was such a great experience.

I really enjoyed their take on all the traditional dishes. Food was cooked well, ingredients were fresh, and steak had a really good seasoning and cooked perfectly. Desserts had a lot of unusual and cool items including shaved ice, basque cheesecake, and chocolate fondue. How fun! Inside was beautiful and modern. You will see a lot of kids and families who are hotel guests but it didn't bother me. If I had a serious business meeting though I may look elsewhere. Service was okay. Main problem I had was that our waitress disappeared during middle of the meal but eventually I called over another waiter and got him to service us. Service is why I took off a star. Another excellent additional to NYC steak scene. This place remains under the radar for some reason but it's definitely putting into your rotation.

Service was excellent and they coursed everything out perfectly so nothing felt rushed or overcrowded on the table. We started with the shrimp scampi, baked crab cake, and the carbonara pasta. All great, but the carbonara especially stood out. Then they brought out the prime rib French dip, which was awesome and probably my favorite thing we ordered. After that came the double wagyu cheeseburger. We split 2 burgers between 4 people and honestly that was the right move. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had. For sides we got the elote corn, truffle mac, and golden fries. The truffle mac was the standout side for me. Margaritas were also solid, needed to get one on Cinco de Mayo. Hard reservation to get, but worth doing at least once.

I have been wanting to go to 4 Charles for months, and when my sister came to visit, I figured we should try it together. We got in the walk-in line about 2.5 hours early and waited outside until they opened. We were able to dine in right at 4, and the restaurant was very cozy. It is small and dimly lit, and we were both so excited to try the burger and roast beed sandwich. We told the server our order, and the food came out soon after. They forgot our bacon addition to the burger, but we were able to get it on the side after---no big deal. The food overall was good, but when I took that first bite, I realized I may have overhyped the situation. It was a good burger, don't get me wrong. But at the end of the day, a burger is a burger. The bacon was delicious though! As for the sandwich, it was also good, but again, not necessarily outstanding. Considering the price, I realized we were mostly paying for the experience and presentation here. Now for the service, I felt like most of the attention was definitely tailored towards the parties who had a reservation or knew people there. As for my table and the other walk-in table, I noticed that we were approached to less often, and only for the standard water refill. The difference in treatment really highlights the elitist status of 4 Charles, but as someone who is not in that group, I felt less welcomed compared to others. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I am incredibly grateful I tried, but I am unsure if I would recommend.
