I came tonight with a pre-arranged group of over 60. We were seated in a nice room in the back of the restaurant, with a view of the water. The menu was fixed. First course was mixed green salad with dressing. Main course was a choice of (1) salmon with Baja shrimp, (2) shrimp with a salsa, or (3) prime rib. All entrees came with mashed potatoes and green beans. For dessert, key lime pie. I can't say anything other than the food was outstanding. The salad was a nice size. The salmon was perfectly cooked, tender and the sauce complemented the salmon perfectly. I'm going to try to reproduce the corn salsa at home. My partner requested their prime rib medium rare and it was delivered as requested, with the remaining diners who did not request a particular cooking level received what appeared to be medium well. The shrimp dish looked good. Everyone at my table ate all of their entree, leaving only a small amount of potato on some plates. I found the mashed potatoes to be very good and the green beans tasty and not mushy. The key lime pie was also very good. The service overall was quite good. We had our water glasses filled a couple of times and, although there were some delays and need to ask for something twice, there were a lot of people being served at the same time, also ordering drinks throughout the evening. The servers were friendly and worked hard. I have no complaints. If you're looking for a place to host a group, you might check out the Chart House. And I recommend the three entrees I mention above. Party of 8 for my mom's birthday! Server was so nice, but they lack communication and attentiveness. It seems as if they are extremely understaffed for such a high volume restaurant. Majority of the food we got was so tasty it just sucks we waited almost an hr for the first round of drinks. So annoyed we just ended up ordering for the next round once we got our first. Me personally ended up not getting anything for entrees because my sister ordered the last order of prime rib. I was so disappointed because I tasted hers and it was so good. Because the server felt bad he told me to have free range of the salad bar. I was honestly happy about that, but when i got up there. The salad bar was pretty much empty. After getting back to my seat I tried to flag anyone down for silverware and everyone pretended not to see my hands or me saying "excuse me." I tried to even get the attention of one of the managers and no one stopped by to table touch or apologize for things being missing off the entrees or things taking too long. If the table was handled properly we could have been in and out within an hr and a half. Instead we ended up being there for almost 3 hrs. Insanity. Our bill was almost $2500 so it should have been suberb... it's time to revamp staff members and managers. This is not gonna be a review to be proud of Landry's. The food was okay, more seasoning should be considered. I enjoyed the Truffle crusted Bass swimming with chunks of Lobster but the 3 cheese potatoes had no flavor, so 2cups of starch w/2 pitiful asparagus. Do better, esp at $65. Our server Nick should be reserved for less busy days or trained better. He never brought us bread, though every table had it... Forgot items after being asked more than once... Brought meals out incorrectly, missing menu items and could not answer any question when asked. He was sweet but completely clueless. The traditional Turkey dinner was over salted, the Spinach souffle nor cranberry relish was not served and the sweet potatoe was unappreciatedly replaced w/ those awful mashed potatoes. Do better. I will give you kudos on the Super Food Salad, but tell Nick that the Squash is NOT figs, the died apples are NOT cheese and these are POMEGRANATE SEEDS, not berries. We ate at the Chart House for Thanksgiving with a group of nine. When making reservations very early, we were told they couldn't make reservations for a party of that size, but when we arrived and ate, there were at least two tables arranged for parties around the same size...one of which went empty all night. We, instead had to make two separate reservations for four and five people respectively. They told us they couldn't seat us near each other or even on the same floor. We had requested at least the larger table be on the first floor because we had one family member in a wheelchair. Once we arrived and checked in early for both reservations, they were running about 45 minutes late. They ended up saying they only had a four person table on the first floor for us to accommodate the wheelchair, so we arranged our group to accommodate while we waited further for a table for the rest of our party. Even after this conversation, they later said they couldn't find the rest of our party for the second reservation, though we hadn't moved, and cancelled it. After interceding at the hostess stand, we were eventually seated across the same dining area from each other which was OK. It turns out though that there were a number of four and five seat tables that went infilled during the evening (about three hours). The food was good and the wait staff was attentive , but it appeared there was not enough wait staff and they were harried. I had the seafood lingui, which was tasty, but the three shelled clams included had not opened and were not able to be eaten. I asked the waiter if I could trade them for some open ones, and he needed to refer it to a manager. No manager showed up, even after the waiter kept checking on it, until I was done eating my meal. They did not offer any real apology or mitigation for this sizable portion of a costly seafood meal. While the food is worthwhile here, the experience was very substandard for what should have been an upscale restaurant. I would not recommend it to anyone for this reason alone, and most definitely not worth the price. read more

We decided to try their holiday dinner prix fixe after we had a great experience during restaurant week. We really enjoyed the Kim Chee Calamari last time so we started with it along with Caesar Salad and Lobster Bisque. I ordered the 10oz Prime Rib cooked medium rare, but it was clearly very rare. It was impossible to get a server's assistance because they were all on the bottom floor. At least the New York Strip was tolerable at medium temperature. She actually told us that "she wasn't sure what she was walking into" when she was requested to come to our table. We called the manager over after we were given the wrong bill. Amazing meal and experience. Loved every bite. First, huge space on the water of Old Town. Great views with large open windows all around. Really good service despite being slammed on a Friday night. Lots of app options. I tried the Savory Burrata + Prosciutto. It was really good. Unique tastes with the sourdough toast. Really juicy tomatoes and enormous mozzarella ball. I really wanted to try the Coconut Crunchy Shrimp but maybe next time. For the entree, I wanted to try their signature three course food tour with salad, entree, and lava cake dessert (more on that later) but instead tried the NY Strip. It was fantastic. So tender it almost melted in the mouth. Nice flavors with the rub. Very good option. I also tasted the seabass. It was tasty. The sauce was sweet and limey. Good option. The dessert! Wow! On a beautiful sunny afternoon in Old Town we came upon The Chart House on the waterfront. Read the menu outside and decided on Flounder Francais. Asked the server if I could have broiled fish and not fried. I explained that for health issues I don't eat fried foods. I offered that if it wasn't possible then I would order something else. She came back and said all of the flounder was breaded. She went away again but came back to say they would be able to make it without being breaded and fried. Then the chef brought our meal to the table and my flounder Francais was indeed breaded fried fish. The breading was overcooked and the pieces were thin so there was no flounder flavor. A very disappointing experience for such a fine restaurant. I expressed to the server that the meal was not what we expected or asked for. Not sure if she informed the manager. It would make for a great Dr. Seuss novel but it didn't make for a great dining experience! This past Sunday, I attended a surprise birthday party for my second mom who was turning 70 at the Chart House. Upon arriving, we were told we could not be seated even though we had reservations because half our party was not there. Once we were seated, our servers greeted us, but the service itself was slow. We waited an hour to get drinks and bread. While waiting to get food, my second mom noticed something moving out of the corner of her eye and when we turned around we saw the Chart House Mouse crawling around the floor. Imagine a 70 year old 6'4 woman jumping around to keep her feet off the floor. The mouse traveled from one side of the room, to under one of guests coat, to another guest's feet. All of us were pretty disgusted by the matter, pointed out the mouse to the server and he ran to get the manager. After 20 minutes of sitting and wondering where the mouse and gone, the manager never came out. She spoke to my sister but never came out and addressed the whole table. After riding the tour boat around Dc to Georgetown and back to Old Town Alexandria we got off and had dinner at the chart House on Labor Day Saturday 2023. It was first come first serve to sit outdoors, and the servers are hostesses were very sweet about giving us a table in the shade. Ty was our waiter, and he was very attentive to our request, the place was very busy but had a beautiful view,. The coconut shrimp was a little over cooked, that she crab soup had very little crab, and the crab dip flavor was a little spicy. That's why they lost a star. This was my first time dining at chart house in Alexandria. My family went for Mother's Day and eating with a water view was aesthetically pleasing to say the least. There was a preset Mother's Day menu 3 course meal for $72 which wasn't bad at all. The server was extremely pleasant and did a great job. I ordered the lobster bisque soup which was very rich and great taste. For my entree I ordered the surf and turf which was very good as well. My brother and I ordered the Mojito flight for two. I wasn't too much a fan of the mango or the strawberry one. However, the blackberry was pretty good. All in all. I will definitely be making my way back and you should try it out as well read more

We went on a Sunday for dinner to celebrate my sister's birthday. Food wasn't bad. Service was not so good. Long wait between being sat and meeting our server. Long wait for the food. Whenever we asked for something , there was a long wait to receive it, including the check. I ordered the filet with shrimp add on and it was cooked perfectly. However, It need a little more seasoning. It was a tad bland. On the other hand, the shrimp was overly salted. The scampi sauce was fine but the shrimp were very salty, k couldn't even eat it. My husband had the NY strip with stuff shrimp and it was ok. He said he would order the filet next time but it was still decent. The only reason he ordered the NY Strip is because the filet was too small. My mom had the stuffed shrimp and she said it was good. We had crab dip for an appetizer and again it was pretty average. The savior was our waitress, I forgot her name but she was soo sweet and accommodating. She was an African American young lady. This was one of the first times in a while that dining at an upscale restaurant, I was just as excited with the drinks and food menus!!! I took my family for a lunch date and when we got there it was a disaster. Yes we did get sat after five mins but after that it was like nobody even notice us. This place never disappoints! I had an opportunity to go with a couple people from work who live out of town. The first thing you immediately notice is the charming vibe as it's right off the water. I highly recommend requesting a window seat with your reservations especially if it's your first time. The menu has several options without being overwhelming. I ordered the seasonal king salmon which was amazing! I also ordered the clam chowder- a staple here worth getting every time. Lastly if you're a chocolate person, be sure to get the chocolate lava cake - it's that good!!! But be sure to tell them with some notice as it takes 30 min to cook. It took over an hour for the food to be served and it was wrong (the carbonara had no prosciutto) and the service was slow (20 min to get a bottle of water). When the prosciutto was brought out, it was like a day old fruit roll up put in a broiler. The reason we stayed was the weather was great and the view was beautiful. They have a course meal which many of my party got. I opted for the stuffed shrimp! It was really yummy but I didn't like the side that came with it. We also used to frequent the location at the Baltimore harbor, before it moved, when I was a kid. These were wonderful restaurants. Now, they're no better than Joe's Crab Shack or Red Lobster. I understand it was around the holidays, but it was so loud, and dark. I had made reservations weeks in advance and we got one of the worst tables. It felt like an afterthought, in an isle, in the dark. My in-laws have trouble hearing, we had to yell. The food wasn't impressive, definitely not worth the money we paid. Miserable experience. Beautiful location in Alexandria on the Potomac to look out at the boats and water. We were in the mood for lobster rolls and headed to old Alexandria for a late lunch/early dinner. Unfortunately we just missed the switch from lunch to dinner and lobster rolls are only served at lunch. After scoring a great table on the patio with perfect shade to enjoy the view, we decided to have an appetizer and cocktail before we searched for our lobster rolls elsewhere. We settled on the calamari and it was excellent! Carrot, zucchini and potato fries were battered in the same calamari batter and added to create a well balanced mix. Nothing extraordinary, nothing unique, nothing fancy. Just good Charthouse type of food. Our server was great, attentive, and timely.
