I want to take a moment to share my extensions install experience at Thairapy PDX because it has…read moregenuinely been transformative for me, both physically and emotionally. First, Lyndsay, the owner, is truly something special. I came to her in real pain from poorly sized/placed bonds done elsewhere, feeling discouraged and honestly afraid to trust anyone with my hair again. Lyndsay stepped in with so much compassion, care, and expertise. She listened, validated my concerns, and fixed the issue with an incredible level of skill. The end result was the most comfortable and stunning set of Great Lengths extensions I've ever had. I have very challenging hair: texture issues, thin density at the ends, and persistent frizz. Lyndsay handled it with confidence and precision. She is a true expert, but what sets her apart even more is her heart. She's a woman's woman in the best way: deeply compassionate, invested in her clients, and clearly someone who treats her stylists with respect and care. Because of that trust, she thoughtfully transitioned me to Makayla, and I couldn't be more grateful. Makayla is an absolute gem. She has taken the time to really learn my hair, understand its challenges, and ensure that every appointment leaves me comfortable, pain-free, and happy. I come in for continuous blowouts (at least bi-weekly) and regular move-ups, and the consistency and professionalism I experience every single time speaks volumes. Makayla has an incredible way of making me feel seen and pretty. I don't fit the conventional beauty mold by any means, but I leave her chair feeling confident, cared for, and genuinely uplifted. That kind of experience doesn't happen by accident--it's clearly the result of strong mentorship, encouragement, and a healthy salon culture fostered by Lyndsay. I also want to gently address some of the mixed reviews I've seen online. As someone who frequents the salon regularly, I find many of those statements confusing and contradictory to everything I've personally witnessed. This is a dynamic, professional team that tackles challenges head-on and fixes issues when they arise. There is accountability here, and most importantly, a clear commitment to clients. Though I am in no means discrediting what someone else has experienced or felt, my experience has been nothing less than exemplary. If you're someone who has difficult hair, doesn't "fit the mold," or has been burned before and is scared to try again, I cannot encourage you enough to book a consultation. This salon is a place of support, trust, and real expertise. I love being here, I love these women, and I'm so grateful to have found a team that truly cares.

I had been looking for a few weeks for someone to try to fix some major issues for me, from…read moreprevious services from elsewhere. I was new to extensions and the previous place had given me a single row of 4 sandwiched together in a hand-sewn weft. I have extremely fine hair and it was extremely damaged from (over/improper) bleaching. So I was having issues with slipping and breakage because the weft was too heavy and pulling. I had also wanted lavender hair, but got something that wasn't even close (still at the previous place). I found Thairapy's website and looked at all the hairdressers linked social media to see who I felt I could vibe with and get as close to what I wanted as possible. I felt like Aisha could achieve that. She had plenty of vibrant hair photos and videos, and her own hair is a vibrant. Plus, after reading her blurb on the website I felt like it wouldn't be a stressful appointment. I don't do well with change and I always dread the same "customer service" questions like, what do you do for fun? There was none of that stilted awkward exchange with Aisha. She was so chill and easy to chat with, but we also vibed without talking at all, her focusing on what she was doing and me just spazzing out She was straight up from the beginning about maybe not getting the light lavender that I had originally wanted. We discussed options, hair health, products and usage, we looked at pictures, and she even took the time to discuss options for my weft. It wasn't something I had booked for in the consultation (because I couldn't figure out on the website) but she could see my distress about them. I came in with one end sticking out of my hair (flipping) and they had slid a few inches after being installed a week before. Aisha offered to keep them until our appointment so she could clarify them and get them ready. She also explained and suggested that because my hair is so fine I should have 2 rows of 2 and come in every 4 weeks for move ups and re-installs. The day of the appointment Aisha was ready to go and her excitement was palpable, which fed into my excitement. I didn't have any expectations going in, other than making my hair presentable again. While I didn't get the color I originally wanted from the inspo pic I sent, we got so close, and honestly I think what she gave me fits my skin tone soooooooo much better!! She also did an amazing job on my weft, it's NEVER felt this good! It's so light on my head, even though it's the same amount of hair, and it feels much more balance rather than just slapped onto my head. She also gave me a cut that blends my real hair into the weft much better so I won't have to heat style it everyday just to hide my real hair texture. I'm so beyond happy with EVERYTHING that Aisha did for me!!! She saved my hair when I thought it was impossible, AND she made my fairy girl purple hair dreams come true! She's chill, easy to talk to, knowledgeable about her trade and honest! I'm so grateful that I booked with Aisha and will be recommending her to everyone who asks about my hair! 100/10 for Aisha at Thairapy.

Vivian was incredibly clear and upfront about the lip blushing process, including the fact that it can be more intense than eyeliner or brows. For me, that was true, though I know it varies by person. My first pass healed lighter than I wanted, and at my follow-up Vivian really listened. She made sure I was thoroughly numbed and adjusted the color to a richer shade that I love. She also explained that some lips simply don't retain pigment as easily, which was reassuring and helpful to understand. Healing was easy, and I'm excited to see how the color continues to settle over the next few weeks. What really stands out to me about this studio is how kind, attentive, and thoughtful all of the artists are. One consistent approach I've noticed is that they intentionally go lighter at first, which makes total sense. You can always deepen the color at the follow-up, and it avoids ending up with something too intense. Overall, another great experience and I couldn't be happier with the care and results.
