We made a HUGE mistake by going with Kennedy's for our new pool filter. First of all, when they…read morefirst came out, we wanted them to help assemble and start it up for us. They could only assemble it but couldn't do anything else because of the way the old filter basket fit through the deck--we had to remove some boards on our own to get everything to fit just right. Fine, we did as they asked us. We asked them to please come back and see that we had everything cut right, fit, etc and please make sure everything is in proper working order before we do anything else. They never came back. We called a few times and patiently waited over 2 months---keep in mind we paid for the whole startup in May which included the new filter plus installation. Had we known we had to do everything on our own to begin with, we would have just gone and picked it up ourselves. Fast forward 2 months---we now have a leak in the pump seal between the motor and the filter! The whole reason we wanted someone out here to help us in the first place was so this didn't happen. So we cleaned out the cartridge, rinsed everything out---they finally come out to fix the pump seal and they wind up jamming the cartridge back into the filter so that it now won't come out, and was all all bent. We wound up having to the whole center piece out with the cartridge and return to Kennedy's at 7am before anyone went out on call because nobody would come to our home to fix this--they denied ever doing this and said they never touched our filter. WE HAD THE CARTRIDGE CLEANED OUT AND ON THE LAWN WHEN THEY ARRIVED---THEY JAMMED IT BACK IN AND DAMAGED IT. We spoke to both receptionists about this and were met with denial and them placing the blame on us, as if we made all this up! They were less than friendly or understanding. Kennedy's did replace the cartridge they damaged at no cost--and that is why they are even getting 1 star on here. 2 weeks later, the pump seal has blown again--we called back and they refused to even offer to come out to check it for us, saying we needed to unhook everything from the filter and bring it in ourselves. Again, they were confrontational on the phone, and not willing to accept responsibility for their lack of quality control. A brand new filter should work for more than a few weeks at a time! Each time they have been out, something else has subsequently happened. (Incidentally, we called another company about this and they said no problem--we'll get someone out to look at it). Furthermore, they charged us $171 for less than 30 minutes on a $19 part--and the job not done correctly. When I spoke to the receptionist on the phone the last time--I asked her how they could not stand by their name--she assured me they did--and I said if you cared enough about your customers you'd send someone out to help us fix what should not have needed to be fixed in the first place---we will NEVER recommend Kennedy's to anyone nor will we ever go back there. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Okay so Johnson pool and spas ... You definitely can't tell by the name of this business but they…read morehave a seriously wide selection of fireplaces and pellet stoves. This is what brought me in there, I was in need of a pellet stove. So anyway, I stopped in one morning and talked to Kristen, for no other reason than she's the lucky one that was at the counter when I got there. She spent a good solid half hour with me answering lots of random questions I had about pellet stoves. I probably took more time with her than I should have however she didn't seem to mind so it was all good. I did go ahead and purchase my pellet stove from here and the experience was very good. Now I will be the first to tell you that I am not the easiest person sometimes to deal with and a lot of that is mostly because of my schedule. Instead of calling Kirsten on the phone to iron out the final details I did 90% of it by email as I work overnights and sleep when their store is open. This worked out pretty well as between her and Shauna they got back to me in the next day and I had my answer that evening when I checked email. I arranged for installation and was even able to talk them into having me install guys show up a little earlier than they usually would, once again because of my work schedule. They were pleasant and professional and got the job done in just a couple hours. I have only had the chance to burn the stove a couple of times since having installed however I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend Johnson's pool and spas if the need arises. I am still waiting on delivery of 3 tons of pellets however I don't foresee any problems or difficulty with this is why I'm posting this review now. In addition to the installation they also come out every year if you require it to clean your stove for the next season, and I fully plan on calling them for this because, well I'm just that lazy.

Warning: Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding Johnson's Pool. I paid approximately…read more$20,000 for equipment upgrades, but the project was left incomplete. The pool heater was installed incorrectly, making it impossible to connect the gas line, and the smart automation system was never fully programmed or integrated. When I asked them to correct their installation errors, I was told I would have to pay additional money to fix work I had already paid for. I also left this experience feeling that I was treated differently because of my race, which made an already frustrating situation even more upsetting. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

Teagle is by far the best Fitness Center at Cornell. It is conveniently located, has a swimming…read morepool and has two floors creating a great cultural split for working out. The top floor is dedicated to machines (cardio and isolation resistance training) and the bottom floor is dedicated to Olympic lifts, free weights, and bar weights. So naturally the top floor is friendly for people of all body types; people don't have to worry about being intimidated, judged, or having to deal with meat-head behavior (like excessive grunting). The bottom floor is where the intense (potentially aspiring) muscle men and women go, and they don't have to be bothered by people who are less intense about excercise than them. The gym does get crowded, but far less than Noyes or Helen Newman. I have never had to wait for a treadmill longer than 1 hour here. Most of the time you can sign up for a spot within 30 minutes of your arrival, so you can comfortably do a little resistance training before your cardio workout without waiting endlessly afterwards (like you have to at Noyes).
