I was excited to get some shaved ice on this warm day! The trailer is small but in a high traffic area so location is good. The cotton candy ice had very little flavor and the ice cream was ok. It took quite a long time to get our order since there was only one person working the window and that same person had to make the orders. We moved to the upper keys about 3 months ago and found this place. We absolutely LOVE coming here for a sweet treat! We try to come once a week and whenever we have family visiting us we bring them here. I've had their "strawberry shortcake" shaved ice and an iced coffee which were also delicious. Charli's is a perfect refresher stop while driving the Keys! Oh, and it's also located at Robbie's, Islamorada's bustling mini village where you can feed tarpons and many other things. So, you can get your yummy shaved ice and then walk around and explore all that's nearby. I got the "Islamorada" special and it was a gelati, which is half shaved ice and half ice cream, it also had sweetened condensed milk on top and oh my was it delicious. Charli's is set up in a super cute airstream camper and there's plenty of outdoor seating nearby. If you need a break from the car and want a sweet treat, this is a great spot! read more

Yummy ice cream and shaved ice, and incredible customer service! It was a hot December day and Robbie's and Charli's Shave Ice was the perfect place to get a snack! Large menu, multiple sizes, fast service (especially when you have tons of people and only one person behind the bus). We have members in our party with celiac and when asked if anything was gluten free, for celiac, they answered and even offered to show us the tubs of ice cream and flavor bottles! There was a mix up on our end and when I reached out later, the owners were incredibly helpful and understanding. This is definitely a small business you should support! The owners are great, service is fast, prices are decent, location is great, retro bus is fun, and snacks are yummy! This will be on our list for when we come back to the keys! Was pleasantly surprised by this shave ice place. Just having been to Hawaii a few weeks ago, I was expecting this shave ice to be crunchy and not finely shaven ice, but I was surprised to see it was pretty fine and good. For a little truck in a tourist trap stop, this was really good. The portion size was a little on the small side and price was high, but I appreciate that they used plenty of syrup and the ice was fine. Service was fine. There are tables undercover where you can eat at, but it was still pretty warm so eat fast because it will melt. I got pineapple and green apple as my flavors and both tasted great. While not the best shave ice I've had, it is still very good and a great place to stop and take a break before or after feeding the tarpon at Robbie's. read more

The ice cream here is good, just as you might expect. They have shave ice (Hawaiian style) with ice cream and the condensed milk - but missing the Azuki beans. Overall, fairly good although I've got to say that the Tiger's blood had a slightly odd flavor to it IMO. read more

After craving shaved ice for the longest time, I found this cute little spot. They're in an area with multiple shops/restaurants and it's very lively which I personally love. I took some friends with me to try it and we all got different flavors but I stuck with the classic like the strawberry with coconut and of course I added condensed milk. Not bad... This pit stop in general was fun because there's lots to look at and a bit of souvenir shopping and also dozens of pelicans in the water. The shave ice was just so-so. During our vacation on Florida Keys, we just visited Robbie's Marina, where we enjoyed good food at Hungry Tarpon, looked at the tarpons from the pier, and suddenly discovered this Charli's Shave Ice. We bought Key Lime Pie flavor, and agreed that it was heavenly delicious. Also, the young woman in the kiosk was very nice with local directions and full teaspoons of trial ice cream. I strongly recommend this place of great ice cream to anybody coming to Robbie's Marina or just driving via Islamorada. read more

This is a must stop. I have been a regular at this shave ice stand for 4 years. As a local you find the best restaurants and locations where you feel good to spend your money, and this is definitely one of the treasures. If I have a long day of work in the sun, all I can think about is a shaved ice from here. Have tried at least half of their flavors and every one has been phenomenal. And I have been around several customers in line who have said this is better than any shave ice they had in Hawaii. Visited Islamorada for work last weekend and came across this gem! If yore looking for a tasty treat that is refreshing and offers organic syrups and fresh ingredients, then this is the place. They even featured a special called "Monkey Brains" which had organize chocolate ice cream, banana shave ice, fluff topping, and gourmet chocolate syrup... yes please! Hope that anyone visiting the area will get a chance to check it out... it's near a lot of artsy and retail vendors and they even let you feed tarpon fish!
