Updating my review because this is not D for Dessert! Still a great shaved ice spot for desserts and more in Hollywood. I came here after a beach day with my family as we were craving something sweet and refreshing. Since it was on the way home, it was an easy decision to stop by here. Parking is super easy as this is located in a parking lot with plenty of spaces. We got two of the bingsus-- strawberry mango and the earl grey boba tea snow. Both were so good and catered to different palates. I really loved the earl grey one because it came with lychee jelly which was an expected but pleasant surprise. The mango strawberry is a classic and it did not disappoint. The inside was clean and the staff was super nice. They also had cakes here and some specialty Asian desserts. I tried the mango and strawberry bingsu, and while it was good, it wasn't anything special. If you order it as-is, it's pretty bare. it's just fruits, condensed milk, and milk pudding. You definitely need to pay extra for add-ons to make it better. The Orange Americano was honestly awful. The orange tasted spoiled and the coffee quality was poor. I've had this drink at other cafés before, so I know how it's supposed to taste. I spoke to the staff to see if I could get a replacement, even just a regular Americano, after taking only two sips, but they don't allow exchanges. Ended up throwing away a $7 drink, which was really disappointing. When I say that Summer Love Ice House is a hidden icy gem in the inferno Miami summer, it is a must try place for everyone local and visiting. I don't know anywhere else in south Florida where you can get fresh and delicious Bing Soo. Their desserts are absolutely amazing and it's a constant struggle for me to not give them a visit every time I am remotely close. The toppings are phenomenal, I reallly love the mochi and the boba toppings, some desserts come with them but others you need to add them to. I highly recommend both the taro bing soo and the matcha bing soo. They put a good slice of cheesecake on the matcha one! This place is a definitely can't miss and I always mention it when people visit Miami! Disappointed, but not flavorless. After seeing all the dreamy pics and rave reviews (most of which, I noticed, were from over a year ago), my wife and I decided to check this spot out during my birthday weekend. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. We walked in on a Saturday midday to... crickets. The place was completely empty, and the vibe was kind of lifeless. The young woman at the counter looked like we woke her up from a nap. Her greeting--and answers to our menu questions--were less than enthusiastic. We ordered a small taro ice, expecting the vibrant presentation we saw in all those Instagram-worthy photos. Instead, we got a plain paper bowl with shaved ice, a thin layer of cheese foam, and no toppings in sight. Definitely not what's advertised. When we asked, the explanation was: "Oh, the small one doesn't come with all that." Followed by, "The toppings are inside." Not exactly the customer service magic you hope for. But here's the twist: the taro ice actually tasted really good. Creamy, flavorful, and with just the right balance of sweetness. It could've used more cheese foam and some of the toppings on top (like..you know, the taro powder maybe) but the flavor itself saved this from being a one-star review. Sadly, the poor service, lackluster attitude, and zero effort to address our concern left a sour taste. We left more bummed than satisfied. Overall: 2 stars. Been here a few times and the concept and experience is unique. Summer Love Ice House opened in May 2023. I remember hearing about it when it first opened because it was all over my social media. The place was almost viral at the time. They are located on Hollywood Boulevard in the Presidential Plaza. Close to Hollywood City Hall and the Hollywood Library. Consider this an elevated shaved ice experience. Or I like to say bougie AF shaved ice. Lol. They offer a variety of unique flavors including * Taro Taro * Mango * Oreo Tiramisu * Matcha Dance * Pineapple Paradise * Strawberry * Coconut Cloud * Brown Sugar Forest * Peanut Pool * Canta Coco The shaved ice is so fluffy and light. The presentation is absolutely beautiful with so much attention to details. It's an art form. The shaved ice is served with little sides of toppings that include mochi, tapioca pearls, milk tea and condensed milk brown sugar syrup. The shaved ice itself isn't very sweet which is perfect. They have fillings of red beans, mochi and milk pudding once you get inside. If you want to add more texture or sweetness, that's where the sides come in. Make it your own. I've had the Taro Taro, Mango and Coconut Cloud. All three flavors are absolutely yummy. The taro is my favorite. Because taro! I want to try the pineapple and Oreo tiramisu. These are a tad pricey at $13.95 and $14.95 each pending on flavor option. But considering how much love and effort goes into each shaved ice presentation, it's worth it for a special treat. We came in on a Sunday early evening- upon entering you see a huge digital ordering kiosk that says "order here", we didn't know and ordered. It was hard to pick small or large without knowing. I would have loved to see a more detailed menu or the staff to have asked "is it your first time? Anything we can help you with?" We decided on the taro and the Oreo shaved ice. The Oreo had option to choose two toppings and the taro did not. I felt the flavors were very very light and mostly water. It makes me so sad to write an update review but since coming at the beginning of Oct 2024, they have changed how they serve and make the bingsoo. The shave ice is not as creamy as it was before and they've taken away the complementary sides + any toppings inside the dessert. I understand that the sides can be a big loss if people weren't using them, but it was surprising to see that they no longer add toppings inside the dessert without posting any signage about it. The 4 times we went before they changed the product, each bingsoo came with at least some mochi inside but now it's just fruit. Again, that's fine, I just wish they would alert customers about the change in the store! Overall, it was just a bit shocking to see the store change its product so quickly and have a stark difference between what it was and what it is now. The changes have decreased the quality which is sad because this place was SO GOOD. read more

I came here for a pick-me-up, and I kind of wish I didn't. Not because the bingsu isn't good, because it is. Fruit ones are absolutely delicious and wonderful. They even have smalls now, so there are more options for everyone (yay)! Unfortunately, my experience with the service has not been the best. I asked a couple of questions to about the menu items and about sides we can order. There is no menu detailing what comes on the side or sides you can order, so you kind of have to ask (they changed it, so unsweetened mochi is no longer around, etc). Though I apologized for asking questions, it seemed like I was bothering the server and annoying them by asking mostly anything. She even told me they stopped having things I asked about for over a year now, which I saw on here that that's not true. The item in question was still around 29 days ago. This isn't the first time I had an unpleasant experience here, which is not fun. This is a great shaved ice place and I would love to keep coming here. Ultimately, my visit was soured. Overall, I still think this place has great shaved ice. But if you're someone who gets nervous or asks a lot of questions, I would tell you to go elsewhere. We ended up choosing the mango - per usual (it's the hubby's favorite flavor everywhere). The difference with their shave ice is that within their base, they have a pudding! Other places would use syrup with fruits. But the pudding was a nice, refreshing surprise. On top was a tarty mango syrup with some mango slices, and two pretzels. Your shave ice is paired with sweetness accents/sides like tapioca sauce, crystal boba, and mochi. The dessert is also paired with a nice warm cup of tea for balance! I loved that. I was really impressed with how satisfying the sweetness level was. It wasn't too sweet, which sometimes after eating a shave ice it can be a little too much. So I appreciated that.
