My friends and I were greeted a few moments after we walked in. We told them its our 1st time here, not much was said. They didnt give us an introduction of their popular flavors, just kinda stared at us until we made a decision. I asked for a couple of samples, nothing screamed special to me. Youre also capped at 5 samples. I went with the small strawberry cheesecake, my friends went with the chocolate and dulce Leche. For a small it was $8 and change. Just wow! We were looking for some dessert after having dinner with Laura and Darin R. They chose this place. The strip looked sort of familiar and when we left, we realized we'd been to the Pho restaurant at the other end. There used to be a Piu Bello in isla Verde/San Juan that we frequented on biz trips there. Turns out this place is not related. It's an independent that has been in this location about a year. But I was curious about the name. I looked it up and Piu means in Italian more or extra. That's a fitting description of the gelato here -- which is beyond all expectations and absolutely delicious. I've always known that there is less fat and calories in gelato than in ice cream. But even if that were not true, I wouldn't care. This gelato is so creamy and rich; it's the definition of sinful. And more than worth every damn calorie! Before deciding what to get, I tried their coffee gelato (very good) and one other. I chose to get a small cup with coconut and chocolate sorbet. I loved them both. The chocolate was like eating dark chocolate ganache. And it went well with the coconut -- which had small bits of actual coconut in it. My husband got their passion fruit gelato -- a medium cup sized portion. And our friends shared the dulce de leche with extra caramel in it. This really was some of the best gelato I've eaten in a very, very long time (and I'm old!). Do I wish I lived closer? Yes. Am I sort of glad I don't? Yes. Just off the South side of Griffin Road, at the end of a string of eateries, this place is Bright and welcoming, just sparkling and clean! The Gelato team are eager to help you find your favorite and suggest something deliciously different. I sampled the Passionfruit Cheesecake which was pleasingly, slightly tart, with the creamy cheesecake finish. I also tried the Dubai gelato, all of the crunchy pistachio and Kunefe flavors. Piu Gelato is a cute lil Argentinian ice cream spot right at the corner of a popular plaza/apartment complex in Davie. I usually come to this plaza for Phobar but I've recently seen so many things pop up here, including this spot! We were eating nearby so we decided to grab some dessert here to finally try it out. There was plenty of seating inside and outside for this spot which I appreciate because usually ice cream places don't have too much seating. When we walked inside, the inside was bright, clean, and welcoming. The girl behind the counter was super friendly and welcoming and let us try a good amount of samples because there was a huge variety of flavors! Some I've never seen before, which is crazy because I feel like I've seen so many flavors from different spots. We ended up just getting a small with one scoop but you're able to try two flavors. We got classics for us- pistachio and hazelnut nutella. It was really good and we enjoyed our dessert inside. They had more than just gelato too. They had empanadas, pastries, and ice pops. I've been waiting for Più to open. Pronounced as pē-ü or pew. They are located at University Pointe in the same area as Taco Love and Pho Bar. We had dinner at Pho Bar and decided to walk over and check out the new gelato spot. When you walk into Più, the aesthetics are just GORGEOUS!!! They thought of every fabulous detail from the marketing to color scheme, design, modern vibe to the pet friendly space. It's stunning design! I love the bright orange color and the wavy ceiling. Can't miss this spot. Rama and Maria were working on the night we stopped in. They both couldn't be more hospitable and friendly. There is a variety of gelato, specialty popsicles, bakery items and empanadas. They make everything in house at Più. If you walk towards the back area when you head towards the bathroom, you can see their open kitchen with windows for viewing. We got the following items: * Argentinian Ice Cream Large Cup $9.50 * Argentinian Ice Cream Small Cup $7.50 * Premium Pop $9.50 Prices for the gelato and pops were a bit more than I anticipated. We also tipped on top of this. I understand why because of the quality and everything is made from scratch. It's just not something I would frequent due to the prices. It is more of a special treat. I can justify the prices for the gelato but $9.50 for the popsicle my son got was too expensive. Next time, gelato only! Lol. I sampled the passion fruit gelato but it was too tart for me. Also tried the tiramisu which was good but a tad too sweet. I got pistachio gelato and it was delicious! Just right. I usually go to Lucciano's for my pistachio gelato and this is quite comparable. My dad got two different flavors and I forgot to try his but my parents seemed to enjoy it. Maria said I could have gotten two flavors for my small cup too. All I wanted was pistachio! Più is pet friendly. There's a sign by the front door when you walk in. I love the built in dog bowls by the window table area by the front. Bonus, they offer pet friendly ice cream!!! Super cute. I love these small details catering to pets! Pets are family too! If you're in the area, definitely try to stop by and support your local business! Our second visit here and it was just as divine! Fantastic ice cream / gelato and over all dessert menu and location. I ordered the snicker ice cream on a sugar cone and we ordered the chocolate gelato in a cup. All high quality and the smoothness of it was truly delightful. The prices are on the moderate side so you keep that in mind. The service is very friendly and just like all ice cream places you can sample what your heart desires. They don't rush you and allow you to figure out your sweet tooth desires. The place is very clean, the rest room is also very clean and love the way the place was designed. This is a new gelato place they opened in the university plaza and it's a great addition. The staff creates great service and is patient as you navigate through all the different flavor like passion fruit cheesecake and Dulce de leche with chocolate chips. They are more than willing to let you try whatever catches your eye. I love how cute this little shop is with splashes of bright orange throughout. They have affogato, shakes and even pints to take home. It's amazingly dangerous you just get a bite to eat and hop over after for some delicious light and airy gelato with unique flavors. read more

Piu is an argentinian gelateria. Super welcoming and trendy with ample spaces and plenty of plug connections. They serve great quality coffee and gelato. Wow! Stopped in to this lovely joint after lunch at Pho Bar, our favorite Vietnamese spot and fell in love. You're first met with the clean modern, yet cozy vibe and then you spot the long glass case lined with an array of vibrant colored heaping mounds of a variety of both unique and familiar gelatos and sorbets. And at a glance you can tell that these are not like your average ice cream. From behind the bar you're greeted by a smiling young gentleman whose cap and apron recall an old school charm. He's happy to help you sample any flavor from passionfruit cheesecake to Dulce de leche and knows the ins and outs of all the different flavors and process. I went with the chocolate sorbet and can honestly say it was probably the most intense rich chocolaty flavor ever, especially delicious for folks like me who don't like it too sweet. The rest of my family loved their chosen flavors too! And, if the price seems a tad more than a typical ice cream shop, you'll not be disappointed by the extraordinary quality and service these folks provide and you'll be glad you got something so well worth it! You can tell these folks take tremendous pride in the quality of the product and cleanliness and friendly service. I was thrilled that they have my favorite flavor, Sambayón , which is very common in Buenos Aires but is hard to find in the Argentinian icecream parlors in South florida. The attendants are super friendly and the place looks like new and has a roomy set up where you can seat and eat your icecream or coffee and dessert. Im very happy that Argentinian restaurants. And icecream shops are flourishing outside Miami area, I can find more of them near home .
