My brakes were making noises and I knew that couldn't be a good sign. I took my car to Sears because I had taken it there before for the front brakes and they did an okay job (I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to cars). Sears was telling me all these parts I needed and it was really important I get those new parts, but they didn't have the parts so I would have to come back. With that said, I went on yelp and tried to find someone who could help. I clicked on Charlie's Auto Tech seeing that they had all 5 stars, and after reading the reviews, I took my car in. Mike was so helpful to me! He should me with parts what was wrong and told me that Sears just really just trying to get more money out of me because I probably didn't really need all the parts that they were saying. EXCELLENT, HONEST, EFFICIENT are three words I can use to describe this auto repair shop. I brought my 2013 Chevy Sonic on short notice because it was hesitating when accelerating. On a recent road trip to Colorado my cars dash decided to light up like a Christmas tree but the main light I was worried about was check engine light. This review is long overdue. I had my car struts n shocks repaired at Charlie's shop last Sept. I am going on vacation and didnt realize that it will take several hours to do it. These guys deserve 6 stars if that existed! Mike and Charlie are the real deal. True masters at what they do. They are skillful and knowledgeable, honest and reliable. When you entrust your car to them, they treat you like family, only doing what is necessary and doing it right. I recently took my beloved 2001 Eurovan camper to them and they took amazing care of it at a very fair price. Charlie even welded a custom tool to help with the suspension lift. My car has been leaking water onto the floor for months now because of the heavy rain. From what I read online it was a problem with the sunroof tubes. I called Charlie's and asked if they could help. Mike wasn't too familiar with the problem, but he said I could come by and he would take a look at it for me free of charge. He was able to reattach a hose for us within 10 minutes, let me know where the other issues with the leak were coming from, and gave me a referral for more help. Charlie is really honest and friendly. I initially brought my car in because it was making really awful noises & i was told by someone else that i needed to replace my shocks/struts...quoted over $500. Some places went as high as $1000. I came to Charlie & he blew me away with his honesty. He told me it wasn't my struts but my brakes & fixed it promptly for $200. It started making a different noise & Charlie& his son fixed it within 30 minute with no extra charge even though it took me months to find time to go back in. I have a mechanic who works on my cars, my best friend, who owns a shop in Mission Viejo, so I really could have gone to him for my repairs, as usual. I am so glad that I came to Charlie's. I had just gotten a service engine soon light on my bmw. Called the dealership and they wanted $180 for a diagnostic. Called every other auto shop in the area and no shop was forgiving with their pricing. Couldn't find anything under $115 for a diagnosis . The last call I made was to Charlie's. After speaking with Charlie on the phone, he told me to come by and they will diagnose it and read the fault code. For no cost... WHAT? I came into Charlie's because a friend mentioned my CV axles needing to be replaced. Prior to bringing it in Mike explained what could possibly be wrong as well as an estimated cost. I brought it in and he replaced both within 2 1/2 hours. These guys are very honest and won't push anything on you. They will explain the issue as well as how much longer you have until it is absolutely necessary to be replaced. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car. This is a great honest family run repair shop. I recently took my Tahoe in and the service was great they finished really fast and came in below the quoted cost! I couldn't believe it. The staff was courteous and kept me up to date on what was happening with my truck and didn't charge me for things that other shops have. Ladies have no fear! Super honest mechanic! Went to have my A/C looked at in my 2012 Yukon as drivers side air wasn't working. Of course when I go in the air starts working! Instead of charging me to take apart the dashboard which would have been a sh*t ton of money they tell me don't mess with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it. And it's been working ever since so maybe it was a fluke incident. On a second occasion I had them change my battery and they had to order it in. Instead of waiting on a Friday afternoon for the parts people to make their delivery Mike went and picked it up and had my car ready 2 hours sooner than expected! Service that goes above and beyond! Overall, great experience! Figure I needed new struts for my Toyota Tundra and I went in on a Saturday and even though it was only a half day with the shop fully booked, Charlie still took the time to take a look at my truck. He said to bring it in first thing the following Monday and he would have it back to me by 4 in the evening. I needed my truck repaired ASAP due to a 7 hour road trip with a heavy load. I had my truck back and on the road by 430 that Monday. Charlie was very nice and cooperative and the shop did an excellent job making sure it was done fast, efficient and with care.
