The last time I visited Charlie's Philly steaks was at a local mall. This location is in Concourse C of the Atlanta Airport. My experience may have been a little different than others because I did not have to wait long for my food. This may be due to there being very few people waiting for their food when I placed my order. It is convenient that there is a small dining area with are some tables and chairs where you can enjoy your food while waiting for your flight. In comparison to my previous experiences, I think their traditional. Philly cheesesteak has less meat and less cheese. They now have an option where you can pay for extra cheese and extra meat, and I was left with the impression that this is probably closer to their original sandwiches in the past. So while I had a positive experience this time, I can definitely understand why others may not due to the longer wait times when they're busier. Cheers read more

This Charley's Philly Steaks is located inside an airport and one can only assume how hard can it be for customers to just stop by and grab something quick and be on the way. Well, for us, it wasn't a quick grab and go experience. The ordering process was smooth through the kiosk but from when the order was submitted to getting our food took a while. We waited patiently since our flight wasn't due for another hour, there were other customers, and they seemed to be short staffed even though the work space was filled. The employees messed up few orders from putting the wrong sauces, preparing the wrong dishes, and serving the bags to wrong customers. My chicken wings with sauce on the side was a horrible idea. It tasted dry and old. Please don't get the wings from here. The cashier forgot the fountain drink so I had to ask for it. The reason why I am giving 3 stars is because there was one employee who kept his cool despite being under frustrating work environment and managed to take care of all the customers there. read more

While traveling through Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, I came across Charley's Philly Steaks. It was early in the morning, and I spotted it as a breakfast option. I decided to try their bacon, cheese, and egg breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was a generous portion, and I wasn't able to finish it. The customer service wasn't the best. You'd think that, being inside the airport, the workers would be more welcoming, but that wasn't the case during my visit. There's seating available, which I liked. Basic 6" cheesesteak sandwich had very little meet and a gallon mayonnaise.... By far worst cheesesteak I've ever had. I took one bite. Took a bit to order. Did two cheesesteaks on wraps. Took a bit for order to come out. Had to grab them for flight home so we didn't look at them before we took off. When we opened them there was hardly any meat or any other ingredients on them at all. Really really disappointed. read more

It's in the airport. So the price was actually reasonable. I think I paid about the same for a sandwich at Firehouse subs. The place is cramped if you plan to eat here. Dirty too, no one cleans it and lots of customers (airport). They seem reasonable speed for the number of customers. Deceiving as lots of people were waiting but it didn't look like it. Fortunately, long layover. My coke was a little watered down. The steak wasn't made right. Wasn't chopped. It was dried. Otherwise ok. Fries were nice and crispy. I was waiting for my flight home to Indy from Atlanta and needed to grab some dinner, so I stopped by Charley's to grab a sandwich. I was very familiar with Charley's having lived in Atlanta for 16 years, so was looking forward to it! It did not disappoint me at all! I ordered the Chicken California sandwich combo and it was delicious! It was messy, which a Charley's sandwich usually is, so I was expecting it! The staff were great and accommodating to each customer. The gentleman behind the line was very interactive with each customer and very personable. He demonstrated excellent customer service and made sure each order came out correctly and right for each customer. Terrible appropriation of time and communication skills in order to prioritize customer care. The cashier dropped and spilled beverages, because she insisted on carrying the drinks by the lids, and the manager on duty along with another employee allowed the line of waiting customers to steadily increase without any sort of notice as to why taking orders had paused due to the cashier now mopping the up the spilled drinks. Secondly, I'm all for having a good time at work, but the manager and cashier joked around entirely too much. That energy should've been used to make customers aware of why we were waiting so long. read more

Before my flight, I bought a meal from this establishment. The food was decent but I was a bit scared of the hygiene. As I am writing this review I have developed a burning sensation in my throat in the airport. I now have to order hot water to combat any upcoming fever starting to grow in my throat. read more

I'm taking it that the owners don't read or care about these reviews since nothing has changed from all of the other horrible reviews that I'm now reading on here. With that being said...THIS IS THE DIRTIEST & SLOWEST place that I've EVER gotten food from at the Atlanta airport! The girl who took my order was nice but it took FOREVER to get my food. And as I was standing there I noticed that the straw holder was open & straws strewn all over...there was no ketchup or salt available, the tables & chairs were filthy AND the workers were back there arguing instead of getting the orders out in a timely manner! It took 18 minutes from the time I placed my order till pickup & the bag was greasy with some type of sauce on the outside that I had to wipe off! That's & it taking forever to get my food is ridiculous! Especially in an airport when you are trying to grab what you think is a quick bite before getting on your plane. When I travel, I always lime to try the local version of a Philly and I am usually so disapppinted I want to cry. Not rhis time. You can count on me being a regular when there is one close by. I get it, It's an airport restaurant, but even by those standards this was sub-par. It was before 10am and they announced they weren't making breakfast. They were only taking cash (technical issues or just trying to thin the herd). Then the young lady running the register announce they were closing at 10. Despite the hours being posted that said differently. She was VERY abrasive and was yelling a lot. In the end she came out and out a cone behind a customer and ran everyone else off. Charley's is opposite gate C13 and they make cheesesteaks. Tasty grilled meat and cheese on a bun. It's not quite traditional Philly style (lettuce?? tomatoes??) but it's still yummy and fattening if you're into that sort of thing. Great service. And great sandwiches for an airport place. I've flown plenty times but this was way up there in my "best quick bites while waiting for the next flight" list. First of all, the manager was awesome. I mean, the guy in front of me was counting his coins. Seriously, he brought a big old bag of quarters and dimes in a plastic bag and was counting them to give the clerk behind the counter. The manager comes up and goes, "we like coins. And we like taking coins too. Take your time. No problem." I mean, this was not a fake "I'm just talking nice cos I work here" nice. You feel it when someone means it. And then the ladies that took my order were nice too! They had big old smiles and did'nt mind that I wasn't all awake. Lol I was insanely busy for a few days and trust me I did not make sense when I ordered. I couldn't keep talking about one thing or focus either. So they did a good job keeping me focused and voila, when tmthey came out, they were all correct orders. Last but not least, the chicken philly I got was legit. Seriously, this ain't your subway around the corner. The buns were hot, hot, the chicken was tender, the tomato was fresh. And the veggie was just super. I'm a carnivore. CONS: * Efficient but not the friendliest service I've ever seen. Moments of smiling and outgoing attitudes, but also a rushed mechanical vibe. Not a huge complaint, but certainly not as warm as it could have been. * The steak wasn't chopped up enough, so I had these huge chunks right next to small shrapnel of beef. * The bread was pretty dry, though not quite what I would call stale. Still, it could use some tending to. * The attached dining area is very cramped, rather messy, and fairly outdated. On the plus side, there were plenty of outlets to charge stuff, but at the price of elbow room... * Airport pricing... pretty understandable, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. * And for the price I'm paying, please fill up the soda all the way to the top.
