Just hit the Boars Head Cafe in the Altanta Airport, Concourse A. I was in a pinch for time so, seeing this line was short and it was a step above a grab-and-go but not quite a sit-down, I figured this was a great spot for a quick, other than fast food option. I ordered the Rueben and made it a meal. This was a hot sandwich, and although I didn't think it was toasted enough, it was decent. I thought they did a great job of giving a a healthy amount of protein and a good balance of sauerkraut. It did lack a little sauce in my opinion, but overall not bad. My only complaint is the price, but it's an airport, and everything is overpriced. Can't really score the ambiance because I ate it at my gate, but they do offer a small, cafeteria style seating area. read more

Stopping in to get a hot French vanilla coffee but they didn't have it, I settled on the hazelnut. No brown sugar available so I drinked without. $5.25 for 16 oz and $1.75 for syrup. Breakfast sandwich $10.99 cold and spicy, not even warm on a waffle. Essentia water 16oz $4.25 $24.02 for an unenjoyable visit. The sandwich was not edible. They didn't have Starbucks on my floor. The employee, skip me and waited on the person behind me. First come first does not apply here, or just maybe after the holiday! This is strictly take with you to your gate. It closely resembles the school cafeteria but you come dressed in any appropriate attire. Lessons learned, Starbucks or nothing at all. Boars Head Cafe features the deli meats from Boars Head Deli. They serve both hot and cold sandwiches which are better than most airport food. I ordered their pastrami Reuben and it was delicious! Service is quick and efficient. This is literally a grab and go order place since there are no tables to eat at, but the food is well worth the price. read more

What should have been an easy experience was very disappointing. For $16 I got a Cafe Italian sub. Small amount of meat was very disappointing along with no sub sauce as advertised. The staff were plentiful but only one person would take orders, not at the take order sign. The manager watched while I struggled to get the attention of the gentleman taking orders who rarely made eye contact. When he spoke it was in an indecipherable accent and low. Without asking what I wanted on the sub he said go to cashier. It's an airport so by the time I got to eat it without the sauce I could not go back. Really bad service. They have no clue what customer service is. I really wish I had found another place to eat. Menu reads bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a croissant or bagel. They were dismissive and rude about me ordering with a bagel,apparently not available fine so I pay. I should have left but decided to get a coffee cake and a chai tea. Shame on me, this experience was worse! This cashier shouldn't be customer facing. I wanted a coffee cake without so much powdered sugar. They were stacked in rows. I've worked/flown thru the ATL airport for 32 years. Until recently the Boars Head Cafe was a great go to. I could walk up, give my order, the sandwich was made right before each patron and one would be out quickly. My last three visits under the new process have been a mess. Now one walks up and requests a premade sandwich and then walks down to pay and wait....which seems like a great idea. The recipes is taped on the bag and you wait for your sandwich. The process is longer and each time I do not get the correct order. The employees behind the counter seem to be more involved with the days gossip instead of their customers. My last order the employee walked up and asked if I wanted a plain sandwich; well the receipts with my order listed my exact request. Since my wait was longer than usual, I simply took the sandwich to make my flight. I wasn't the only one to have this experience. Each order for others around me was wrong or the employee asked them about their sandwich with the order receipt in the bag. Chaos at its best. read more

Firstly, my tuna sandwich/croissant tasted like sh*t! ZERO star for RUDE service. I stood in line and was cut off by an employee stocking the chips and put all the empty boxes scattering all over. The stocking lady was yapping with other employees and didn't even clear the boxes (big liability) for customers or telling customers to go around the boxes. The customer before me was pissed because the employees were chatting and cracking with laughing. When it was my turn at the cashier, the male cashier continued to laughing and ignored (not looking at me) and kept asking to repeat my order. "You want tuna?" "Yes." "What sandwich do you want?" My sandwich order is pretty basic. I always get the same thing, honey turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and extra mayo. This time around I went with sliced wheat bread. The sandwich was satisfactory. This café is super busy so the ordering process can seem a bit confusing. You start with one person taking your order then you move down to watch them make your order and then another person cashes you out. You definitely need to be paying attention or you could accidentally get someone else's sandwich or miss ingredient being added to your sandwich.
